SHARON'S EDGE II

*THWACK!*
D'OH!!

That was the sound of me hitting my forehead after I realized I'd done a Marty McFly and paid tribute to Owen Hart a FULL month before the anniversary of his death. Just when I thought I was developing some credibility..yeah right. Anyway, yes, I'm back on the Edge with my wrestling views. Hey, I guess I'm just making up for missing last week's edition-actually after watching Smackdown last night, I had to put pen to paper-or is that finger to keyboard? Whatever--the true highlight of the show last night was the hardcore match between the Hardys-DAMN!!!! THAT WAS THE BEST HARDCORE MATCH I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!The only thing that would've made it better is if they let the guys cut a promo before hand, setting up the match!!!!

Rebecca, who was lucky enough to be at RAW on Monday-check out her latest column-says that after Matt Hardy pinned Crash, the Hardy brothers argued their way back up the ramp-of course this wasn't shown on television because I guess we would've missed someone-I don't know- WALKING? And the way Matt came down last night, all cocky with his belt (and dare I say sexy as hell?)-what a promo the brothers could've done!!! Jeff could've been bitching about how he did the swanton bomb and he deserved the belt while Matt could've been answering that he was sick of Jeff showing off and he earned it! But no, we have to be treated to the McMahons searching for Stone Cold. *YAWN*

I watched 'Getting Raw' this week and was flabbergasted that a guy called in, not really happy with Matt being champ because he's 'not hardcore'-exsqueeze me? I hope this guy took a look at last night's match because if that wasn't hardcore, I don't know what is! One of the best things was that the guys KEPT IT IN THE RING. This may be just my opinion, but nothing bores me more than when they take the matches out of the ring and around the building. I recently watched an ECW match where Tommy Dreamer and New Jack took on the Baldies-Tommy led DeVito through the crowd, out of the building, into the parking lot, into the street, back into the lobby of the building, up the staircase and then finally back to the ring-New Jack had Angel in the ring but the camera stayed with Tommy. It got really tedious.........

Damn near every WWF hardcore match, with the exception of the last PPV tournament, ends up in the back or at the concession stand. Hellooooooo?! I don't go to the show to watch the Titan tron, I want to see WHAT'S IN THE RING!! By the way, thank God, Trish was wearing pants last night, for as long as Bubba's face was in her crotch- I'm sure the PTC's heads all exploded at the sight of that! No doubt a lot of guys out there were envying Bubba! (And some girls were envying Trish, right, Rebecca?) And don't get me started on that sham of a match between Road Dogg & Christian! Is it in the DX contract that THEY can get clean wins, but no one else can? And again, Christian gets a victory but it's by DQ in a REVERSE DECISION! PUH-LEEZ!!! I kept waiting for Edge to run down the ramp afterwards and clock Road Dogg!

OK, well, Backlash is this weekend and it's time for my Nostradamus impression again. Let's look at it, shall we?

Acolytes vs. Bull & Big Boss Man- What an uneven match. Farooq & Bradshaw are brutal, while Bull is impressive, and BBM just sucks! Does he have pictures of Vince licking a llama's anus? Why is he on my tv so much? Between Farooq's devastating power bomb and Bradshaw's 'clothesline from hell', I predict an APA squash. ( At least I hope so)

Kurt Angle vs. Big Show- Another uneven match, in the real world this would be a squash but it's the WWF 'where anything can happen'! I'm thinking Steffy Mac will send some interference in to protect Kurt Angle so it'll end up a DQ. Somehow I don't think Kurt will suffer too much.

Dudley Boyz vs. T&A - Hmm..the best thing about this match is the sexual tension between Trish and Bubba. No disrespect to Test or Prince Albert, I was always a Test fan. It's taken me a little longer to warm up to the Prince, while it's obvious they need Trish to get over. I love the Dudleys- I can't see them losing to a novice team like T&A. But I also don't think Trish will end up through a table. There have been rumors that T&A will break up and I can see Trish going off with Bubba, although the Dudleys certainly don't need her. While I'm tempted to go with the Dudleys, I think Vince has high hopes for T&A, despite the rumors, so I'll pick T&A.

Essa Rios vs. Eddy Guerrero- I really look forward to this match. Smackdown gave us a good taste of what was to come. Both of these guys are so impressive in the ring, I'm sure it'll be a highlight of the PPV. And Lita seems like a formidable opponent for Chyna, so I'm definitely looking forward to these two women facing off. Eddy has a good angle going so I'm predicting Essa will win this match. A belt could only help advance him, that is, until he starts cutting promos.

6-Man Hardcore Match-Although, the Butchster had a good point about Crash needing that belt more than Matt-after that great match the brothers had, I kinda want to see either Hardy get it. But between all the participants involved-Tazz, Saturn, Bob & Crash-they'll all be paired off against each other so it'll be interesting. Winner? Hmmm...could be anybody's guess-but I'll say Crash.

X-Pac/Road Dogg vs. Edge/Christian- Geez, I'm dreading this match because I just have this foreboding of doom. Another caller to 'Getting Raw' actually called 2Blonde 'boring'! (Of course, he was a kid so I'll overlook his stupidity.) I'm really hoping my instinct is wrong because these fake Outlaws certainly don't need these belts. Edge & Christian not only deserve them but having them has really given them an interesting angle. The cocky agressive attitudes are working so well! It really depresses me to say this, but I think we'll have new tag team champs.*sniff!*

Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit- I like how these two guys have been building their feud. They're both so talented, I really anticipate an exciting match. Y2J has recently been elevated so I'm thinking Chris Benoit will retain his belt, not only because he's talented but again, a belt helps him and seeing the short Heavyweight reign of Y2J last week, that's something we want to see more of. Winner-Benoit

HHH vs. The Rock- I like the way Vince is harping on the bad blood between the Rock & Stone Cold. Ever since SCSA was added to the mix, everyone's been predicting a heel turn for him. Vince likes a swerve so I don't think it's going to happen. HHH has done a great job as a heel and most of the fans can't wait to see the Rock take that belt from him! But with Rock going off to do the movie, I can't see him taking that belt with him-unless he cuts promos from the set. I can see SCSA costing HHH the title but I don't know where to take it from there-SC's not fully healed so he can't defend it. This is tough but I'll say HHH keeps that belt-for now.

Well, those are my predictions-we'll see how I do this time.....
