BLAH

(...and he better have put 'the' in the author name. Does he like it when people call him Robin Zimmmerman? And I need all three words...I need to mark out for my own initials! All of them!)

Hey. If you're interested and CRZ's willing, you can take a look at my old lWo Booking or my LH Booking, and maybe someone will actually give me feedback this time around. Or maybe I'll just get one e-mail, with someone wanting me to plug something.

However, if you're reading this expecting to be reading more of that, you're going come up empty. I'm just not in the mood, and there's nothing striking me as cool right now. And Kai En Tai is getting TV time, so I can't complain about that. This will be more of a free form stream of thoughts.

  • I like Funaki and Taka are getting TV Time. On the other hand, Fatu should get the HECK OF OFF MY TV. Is this some bizarre parody of Yokozuna, or a replacement for him? Is Viscera not enough fat man for the WWF? Who in the WWF (or the world) thinks a guy who's gimmick is that he has a really really big butt and he likes letting everyone else see it is a good idea? Tiger Ali Singh has a better chance of getting over then Fatu...at least there, they gave hype and some reason to care.

  • I hope this Billy Gunn/Test issue isn't just a momentary permutation of the DX/Vince feud. As long as they can't find ways to push the New Age Outlaws outside of handing them the Tag Team belts, the Hardyz, the Cagez, Too Cool...everyone else in the division are going be stuck in the undercard. The Outlaws are too over for the WWF just to float around in mid-card tag matches...like the rest of the division. The only *team* that has a reasonable chance of beating them are the Acolytes, who are starting to get over with their antics. (If I block out the borderline racist stuff on Heat with Kai En Tai, Sunday Night Bradshaw and Faarooq was pretty cool.) More likely, it'll be Foley and Snow or Rock N' Sock, which makes the situation even worse.

  • The same thing could be said about ECW's Tag Division - Nothing's going happen till the Impact Players fight Dreamer and Raven and beat them for the titles. Till then, we're just in a holding pattern, and they need to that match now and move on, as two hours of TV are starting to expose how slowly the angles are moving in ECW. But I don't think it's going happen soon, and it seems we're getting Raven vs. Sandman at Guilty as Charged instead, because Dreamer and Raven as unlikely partners is the TOP angle (and one of the few) in the whole promotion, and Heyman's got nothing to replace it with if he does break them up.

  • And, note to Heyman (and to Vince, 'cause we all see the similarity)...no one's going accept Awesome as a champion until he beats someone who's not a midcarder or not leaving the company. Something e-wrestling's taught me is that a champion is only as good as his challengers, and right now, there are two World Champion midcarders. RVD might as well be World Champion and Awesome TV champion, 'cause that's the way it's projecting.

  • Even thought I said I wouldn't do that here...I'll break it, 'cause an idea just hit me after the last two paragraphs: On the last TNN/Hardcore TV show before Guilty as Charged, have Awesome beat Justin Credible in a World Title match. (Or Lance Storm, for that matter, although Justin's better, 'cause he hasn't taken a serious beating in his whole ECW stay.) On the PPV, have Justin and Lance beat Dreamer and Raven, causing them to go play among themselves, and the Impact Players can have an issue with Awesome. (Maybe team up Candido with Awesome...elevates Candido and Tammy can only help Awesome's heat.) That gets us our new angle, gets Awesome elevated, and keeps things moving!

  • One other thing about MY HERO, Justin Credible...he's a HEEL, you're supposed to HATE the catchphrase! Everyone's ripping the NAO when Road Dog still doesn't the same speech he was doing as a face with a "with your mamma" thrown in, because it still gets the face heat. So, when Justin does the opposite, throwing out a phrase that he knows will get booed, people are complaining about that? It don't make any sense.

  • Since I haven't mentioned them yet, I guess I should throw a word out about WCW: Who exactly did hit Elizabeth with that Guitar? Or did they forget about that?

  • And if they don't bring back Stevie on Monday night, I'm thinking of proposing a boycott of WCW until they lift the suspension. You don't mess with the patron saint, no matter what kind of fruit booty writers you think you are.

  • I think Midnight's going be cool with the Heat, and if she's a good fit on the mic, it'll be perfect. Giving her an UT-esqe entrance with UT to WCW rumors was a nice touch, but that might get old after a while. If they could have bothered explaining her relationship with Booker, that'd be nice. Hey, I'll do it for them: She's the Heat's sister, but she's got a mind for business, not wrestling, so she ran the family's bar (on 110th Street, of course.) Everyone, men and women, have to keep tough in that kind of environment, so that explains why she's so big, and she's not willing to let her brothers get screwed around by management, so that's why she's here. (And if you really want to have fun with continuity, then they can say that Midnight was always behind the scenes, helping on the biz side for the Heat - getting them Sherri as a manager, telling them that Jackie was a bad idea and trying to keep them from killing each other during the last year.)

Wow, I sure do a lot of fantasy booking in a column not about it. You get me started talking, and there's no way to shut me up, I guess.

  • Anyway, back in WCW, we're still screwed in the tag team division. Lord knows why having a tag team title match couldn't have been done instead of the 6 man elimination we got (which would have been nice to build to a title match...on a free show) at Mayhem. For all the talk about rebuilding the division this year, there's never been more than three interesting teams involved in the division at a time.

  • I think one of the scariest things going on is that, if the title floated back to D'Lo (or anyone else more suitable then the Bulldog), the WWF European Title could me worth more than the WCW TV Title. Who would have thunk that after Wrestlemania, when Booker T was TV Champ and Shane McMahon's clothing bag was Euro Champ?

  • Anyone else notice the bizarre number of CLEAN FINISHES Monday Night? That was just...weird.

  • I'm running out of steam, so I'll end this with a little story.

In late October, Vampiro and WCW had contract troubles, which ended up with Vampiro get released from his expensive WCW contract. Soon after, word came that ECW was interested in him, one thing lead to another, and Vampiro left a message with Paul Heyman, asking him to call him back to pretty much confirm his contract. But Paul never did, Vampiro couldn't wait around forever, and resigned with WCW.

The lesson: Don't expect people to wait around forever to hear from you, or they might just not be there when you finally do.
