Subject: Mystery Men siting

It looks like Ben Stiller getting his ass kicked on RAW isn't the only tie in the movie Mystery Men has with wrestling. It turns out that the man everyone's happy has been knocked down to stock car reports, Rikki Rachtman has a part in the movie. He's part of the villian gang "The Frat Boys". Fortunately, I don't think he's noticible.

Rev Ray

FWIW, the movie's not bad. If you liked the Tick series, you'll probably like this.

Subject: Just a Question

You called Kevin Kelly "Nailz," was he really Nailz the psycho jail escapee in the orange suit?

Thanks,
Charlie

Well, HE wasn't, but Nailz, when he competed in the AWA, was named Kevin Kelly. I can't believe I hook somebody with these each time I use it! ;-)

Subject: hi

what is that web page about?

AMumin5100

Ummm....hello.

Just wanted to tell yeah that during a commercial, before Chad Brock sang, WCW event staff members handed out those Chad Brock head signs

Cool08

You know what was weird? I didn't even SEE these - except for the one in Windham's back pocket that was magic markered up. I wonder how much THAT cost WCW?

Subject: Raw IS Jericho

Jericho and the Rock spun 8 minutes of Gold tonight.

I was wondering how WWF would intro him. I wondered if he would start off feuding with a main-eventer. I felt that WWF might not do that as it might be too big of a push. Well they gave him a MONSTER push tonight and he took the ball and ran with it.

Timing of the segment

1:30 from the time Rock is interrupted to Jericho appearing on stage. Over 5 STRAIGHT minutes of mike time by Jericho after that. He sounded great - he better have since he had months to get ready.

I know this has been said before but how STUPID is WCW to pay Rodman $x,xxx, xxx instead of giving the money to Jericho.

Jericho even got to do a run-in on the first main event. I like how he did the run-in. Instead of nailing Rock with some deadly finisher he gives him a pussy-ass shove and lets Billy Gunn take him out. What a pussy heel move! I didn't know how much I missed Jericho until tonight.

More tomorrow after I digest your recaps. But I was also impressed at the MAJOR effort WCW put out in their first hour tonight. I usually get a lot of newspaper read then but tonight I had to pay attention.

Arthur Kimes

Subject: Jericho

Hey Chris,

I really liked Jericho's entrance (music and video package) and his mic work was great (do you think after he was done with his monologue he thought "whew, I'm glad that's over and I didn't screw it up!"). However, immediately putting him in a program with the Rock may be a mistake. Once he's done with this feud, where does he go from there? Unless he feuds with Austin or UT, he's moving down the card rather than up. Had they started him out in a feud with Roaddog, Jarrett, or a high mid-carder, he could get over with the fans through them first and then move to the headliners.

The only reason I can see for the WWF to start him out w/ The Rock is to show WCW that they can make him a headliner right off the bat and WCW couldn't/wouldn't. They're showing the rest of the underappreciated guys in WCW that if they jump to the WWF, they're talents will be used and they won't waste away in the undercard or get jobbed out to the Hogans, Sids, and Savages of the world.

Subject: about icp

My friend is huge into ICP, so I know quite a bit about them...

Jack and Jake Jeckel are the two Jeckel brothers that their latest CD is named after. See, they have like 5 CDs out, and each one has something carnival related on them (riddlebox, ringmaster, shit like that) and the latest one is the jeckel brothers. It's kinda lame... they act like when the 6th one comes out the world is gonna end.

A juggalo is just what they call their fans... like a Hulkster :)

Fett9025

Ask me if I care.

Subject: Reach Out and Crush Someone.

Hi Chris,

as a BIG fan of your column (I Love the Comedic Stylings), I was quite honored and surprised to see you mention the NASH MTM commercial. I work for the videogame company that put the game out, and I wrote the commercial, and worked with nash to film it!

Just wanted to give you a Shout-Out!

Keep up the great work, and make sure you do what Nash tell's ya..

Regards

Kevin Gill

Subject: wcw

Chris

is it me or WCW doing alot of face shots when people like norman smiley are on TV!

Adam J. Radisch

You know, they've OBVIOUSLY given up on the G-rated nonsense, I believe it's time to FREE NORMAN SMILEY! FREE BLACK MAGIC!

Subject: wrestling reviews

Hey, I don't see why the hell you do a review on wcw. You obviously don't like them and you can't report worth a damn. If you don't like them do me and alot of other people a favor and stop reporting them.

Matt "a huge WCW fan" McIntosh

Subject: Good one

and of course, this is a point I always find amusing: Crowd chants "USA" to show support for the Mexicans.

I think this match would have exploded into an insane paradox of brain fragments if they added El Vampiro (the Canadian luchadore heel that gets face heat) to the equation. To bad WCW didn't push the envelope a little further.

George Paul

Subject: Raw IS Jericho

How great was that last night? Jericho made the Rcok look like a complete ass. He was trying to stifle hs laughter during the, "IF ya smeeeeelllllllllllllll..."

Ryan Lambert

CRZ,

Jericho is the Man...

I have never seen a person get more pop or a better intro in to an organization than he did. You said it best, I could have done without the Rock also.

Jericho is the future of this promotion.

Also, do you have any Idea what WCW is trying to pull. There is no way in hell, that they are going to let Nash quit.

Hogan yes because his body is starting to look like boiled Chicken.. But Nash is the only mega star with youth (sort of ) that they have.

And that red and yellow shit makes me want to vomit.

Oh well let me know what you make of this Angle?

Arthur Singleton

I can't BELIEVE Scaia didn't mark out!!

Subject: RAW Recap

Once again, you entertain us with a great RAW recap. But hmm... what's with all the Clash references this week? Shareef don't like it!

Subject: YOUR WCW REPORTS

i think you need to have more respect for wcw just because they don't resemble the wwf doesn't mean they don't put on good shows i think if u are a writer you have to show your respect because you find good and bad in wcw and the wwf but only wcw's faults are picked out you never have nothing bad to say about the wwf we both know they're not perfect goldberg#1

Subject: Suggestion

Call the West Texas Rednecks the Minnesota Cowboys.

Where did Hennig get a Cowboy hat in Minnesota anyway?

Keep up the good work, btw. I actually miss your more sarcastic humor. Screw wresrleline, go back to the old smart ass CRZ!

Rob

What? I've changed?

Subject: The Rock

Let me make it simple for you ... Next to Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Rock is the BEST thing going in Wrestling! So like it or don't like, learn to love it because it is the best thing thing going today!

Oh wait, that's Ric Flair's thing!

O.K., Here it is. IF YA SMELLLL ....!

Akiva N. Freeman

Subject: RAW

Quick question.

I worked with a lot of the technical side of productions. It's no secret that the WWF & WCW use sound responsive mics that direct the sound from the person talking & down the volume on the background noise from the audience.

During the entire show - the audience was surprisingly quiet. But even some of the bass from the mics from the commentators & others speaking really didn't get picked up to well.

But when Jericho came out & from there on after, everything volume & tone wise sounded normal. Was that just me?

Philip A. Stamper

You and Travis at tOA are the only people that notice this stuff. But that's not a BAD thing! I just end up focusing on other things while trying to write is all.

Subject: Raw

Hey dude, i figured when jericho was talking about the tv rating going down and the ppv buyrates going down i thought he was going to say "Oh wait, Im in wwf" ya know what i'm saying cause he pretty much summed up WCW in that whole little part of his speech. Anyway, I got this problem, there's this girl i'm into right and ya know I talk to her and all, and I'm infatuated with her. So should i ask her out or what? She gives me mixed signals. Now i'd imagine you're laughing at me or something "what the 'frick' is this jackoff asking me advice on women for" well basically, you're a hip dude and you should know what's up.Later

Mike

Asking me for advice on women is like asking Yokozuna how to stay slim. Or something.

Subject: WWF Report

I don't know if everyone always understands your little digs and humor. Maybe I just have a warped sense of humor myself, but dammit you have some funny material. Mr. Whyspyr? He whysprs... funny stuff. Keep up the good work.

If Benoit,Douglas,Malenko are the Revoloution...all they need is that Prince Icantwrestle guy and they can start a band....LOL

Subject: raw is war

I enjoy reading your recaps every week and you are entitled to your own opinion, but please don't be a Rock hater.

You Wrothe this about the Rock/Jericho segment:

Jericho makes funny faces...then walks off. Man, I don't know about you, but this pretty much rocked the casbah for me. Well, I could have done without the Rock, but... ha!

How can you deny that the Rock was not hilarious in that speech. KY Jelly? That was classsic. Plus when he interrupted Jericho and is said it didn't matter what his name was, that was great too.

Admit it, The Rock and Jericho are the 2 best damn performer in the WWF and if him and Jericho have a feud it will be great.

Rusty Mitchener

I admit NOTHING!!

Subject: Love Your Work

Hey,
I love your weekly reports from both shows from both feds, but I wanted to write to tell you one thing I'm happy about... I finally found someone who likes Steve Blackman too. Blackman Rocks, needs mic skillz but beside the point anyone who can fight emotionless is great. Great reports By the way.

DoNAlxndr

Subject: Hogan Pop

I normally agree with what you say about WCW, try to be a little objective in your reporting. The pop Hogan got when he returned in his yellow and red was huge, easily the loudest of the night, and the loudest of both shows (raw and nitro: I watched them both). I really did not think he would get a reaction that well myself, but it was huge. So, even if you hate the guy, try to do a little honest reporting. Everyone who saw the show knows that the POP for Hogan was absolutely huge.... All the other reports agree with me. I think you are letting your personal feelings cloud your judgment on this one...

Jay Bows

Subject: Yes

My first live event!

Attack before the bell as we hear the sounds of a fire extinguisher (up on the ramp?)

If it was really bothering you, yes, it was people putting out Gangrel's burning ring o' far.

Crowd, of course, goes nuts, for reasons which only half escape me.

Cuz we were supposed to.

'This thing's gonna end one way *OR* *ANOTHER!!!!!!!!*'

That sounded like a loud screech throughout the arena. And where was your boy looking? The camera was not that way...

Oh, I just read the next paragraph. I guess you noticed too.

Then - An explosion!

That was the single loudest noise I have heard in my lifetime.

What's up with bashing the HeAT RePORT, anyway? Do they HAVE to be funny? Can't I just tell you what happened on the show? Eh?

JOHN F.

I'm glad I managed to piss off both fans of the Rock AND Hogan this week!

Subject: CRZ recaps

Liten, I read recaps to find out what I missed the night before. I do not read them to hear some guy who thinks he's funny make dumb comments! The Rock is funny. Jericho is funny. CRZ is not funny! So as your favorite wrestler says, KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!!!!!!!

TONYDX1068

I may not be funny, but HEY! At least I have a sense of humour! After all, I'm putting YOUR letter on the page!!

Subject: Your RAW Report and Wrestleline Matters...

Hey CRZ,

Got a question for ya: Why is it that this Galatea guy writes a whole report for Wrestleline, yet you're already doing the reports on Mondays? I don't it's nescessary to do 2 of these things, when you're doing the better job. It's just like that loser at www.wrestlezone.com that tried to mock your writing style. Please see about getting them to cut it out, plus the Tony Yan-something who wrote a Nitro report for no reason. Hopefully, something will come up from this. Keep up the good work.

Dave

I'm not reading Wrestleline much these days except for Rick and Mike, but I *believe* Galatea is female. Also, I think WL wants to keep ready backups in place if I ever just *disappear* on them. Yannuzzi is a holdover from WOW Magazine, I'm pretty sure. I've never been to that other site, but I'll be sure to check it out sooner or later. Remember, all WrestleLine complaints go to ringmaster@wrestleline.com and not to me!

Hey, CRZ. Two things:

1. Your reports are the BEST thing on WrestleLine.

2. The MINUTE I saw Benoit win the title, I said to myself, "This is only until Saturday", which is SAD, SAD, SAD.

I could hear Beavis and Butthead doing the big red and yellow retards new old song tha da da tha da da tha da da da

MOB18713

Subject: Raw

CRZ,

While it is very obvious to anyone who watched last night that Jericho was phenomenal and his future holds no bounds, let's remove his spot from the picture for just a moment.

Did anyone else notice that Raw was completely dreadful? I was amazed that they couldn't do any better with all they had. The segment with Ventura was completely awful. Thankfully, HBK saved the segment. Also, don't get me wrong here, but how many times can we here "Do You Smell What The Rock Is Cookin'?" in one show before the cheers start to weaken? What was it, four times in two hours? There aren't that many faces in the federation that get big pops, but give me a break.

Meanwhile, I thought Nitro put on a stellar show. The matches were solid, even the ones I usually flip channels through. The undercarders and midcarders put on good shows for once, and the show was filled with big happenings throughout. Benoit.....all I can say is it's about time. Hopefully he'll have more than a six day reign. The return of Hogan as the Hulkster was, to be honest, something I looked forward to with mixed feelings. When he came out in yellow last night, I marked out big time, leaving behind the doubts I had. Boise ate it up. Is this the end of the road for Hogan, who would want to go out as the Hulkster? Probably. But it was great to watch.

The crowds told the whole story. Removing Austin's walk down the aisle and the Rock's many many entrances, the Raw crowd was absolutely dead. The Ventura segment left a very bad taste in my mouth, and did so for the fans in attendance. You could have heard a pin drop. HHH sucks a lot, as far as crowd response goes. On TNT, we saw a live crowd from gun to gun. They were hot for even the things that some Internet writers don't feel they should be, like the matches between midcarders, Rodman, Hogan, and others. I'm sure the ratings won't show it, but for the first time in what seems like years, I can safely say that Nitro was far and away better than Raw.

Thanks for listening.

Ed Marks

RAW is Jericho...I haven't marked out that hard in years.

Just be glad they didn't give Raven(Who is as underrated as Benoit is) a gang of non goodlookin non talented fools with the exception of Saturn. I think Vampiro looks cool. ICP,who I don't like also look cool. I expect Raven to go for the U.S. title again(hopefully against Benoiy)

MOB18713

Didn't you just write me up there?

Subject: Just Curious

Chris,

Just wondering, are you a fan of the Rock? I read your WWF columns and I can't figure out if you like him or not.

Also, who are your favorite wrestlers?

Just curious
Frank

I'm not as high on the Rock as some people are...as for my favourites, they're hidden on the front page. Look carefully! ;-)

Subject: Nitro Report

I'm not happy about your nitro report. i love u guys at wrestleline, but dont comment on things u dont know about. ICP was NOT wearing the same jersey. J was wearing a jack jeckel and shggy was wearing a jake jeckel jersey. Jake and Jack are the amazing jeackel bros. ICP's new cd. try harder next time

Please get a life. Thank you.

Subject: Re: Nitro Report

hey bud, i got alife, but id rather have yours working w/wrestling all the time. nobody gives props to icp and it makes me mad. i mean seeing violent j who is about 100lbs. overweight and out of shape doing a moonsault is entertaining. u got to admit, they take good bumps.

McDolla983

Ummm...okay. Gosh, that was an impressive moonsault! He's like HUGH MORRUS!

You know Hogans probably going to lose to Nash thanks to Scott Hall. Either that or WCW is going to have it be a DQ from Hall.

Subject: Chris jericho

The Dave says:The WWF should have known there role and kept Chris Jericho in the box until his contract was up,that was so bad i felt sorry for him, chris jericho was not treated fairly in WCW but let's be serious he went from great to crap the minute he showed up in the WWF.this is so sad for words,Chris Jericho was once great now to quote the only good thing the WWF has:Chris Jericho is nothing but a huge pile of MONKEY CRAP

Booker t ...world champion?...youve saud some silly stuff in the past but that ranks up there with them all

madspector

Booker T. is being TOTALLY WASTED. I'll say it again. Booker T. is being TOTALLY WASTED.

Subject: Figure of speech

CRZ--
Someone should tell (that slut) Chyna that the plural of "figure of speech" is "figures of speech," not "figure of speeches." I suppose it's OK, because she and HHH are just a couple of son of a bitches anyway.

Subject: Snoop and Pumpkins

Where was Snoop Dogg and the Smashing Pumpkins? I thought Road Dogg could win naming rights and all the royalties from the name! He'd be on a hell of a roll!

Ross Ferraro

You know, I completely failed to notice this. Does that mean that RAW was so packed with stuff that the Corrigan and Snoop were unnecessary, or should I have bitched out the WWF for failing to keep their promise? Or maybe, are we better off with these nonwrestler types muckin' up our wrestling programs?

Subject: PLEASE KEEP A OPEN MIND!!!

DEAR CHRIS, I JUST READ YOUR NITRO REPORT. I MUST SAY I WAS VERY UPSET THE WAY YOU ALWAYS SLAM WCW. MAN THE SHOW WAS A GOOD SHOW. THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE. COME ON CHRIS HOW CAN YOU SAY NOTHING ABOUT HOW GOOD THE OPENING MATCH WAS. VAMPRIO IS JUST TOO GOOD IN THE RING NOT TO TALK OF. LASH WAS EVEN PRETTY GOOD. I MEAN DOES THE WWF PAY YOU TO SLAM WCW OR SOMETHING. I SAY ALL OF THIS IN RESPECT OF YOU. BUT COME ON CHRIS YOU CAN'T TELL ME YOU WEREN'T EXCITED ABOUT HOGAN AND THE RED AND YELLOW I THOUGHT IT WAS 1988 AGAIN, HOGAN EVEN LOOKED GOOD IN THE RING OR AT LEAST BETTER THAN HE HAS IN THE PAST YEAR OR SO. I REALLY THOUGHT THE WWF WAS FLAT. I COULD TELL THE WWF HAD TAMPERED WITH THE AUDIO SOUNDS THAT WAS AS CLEAR AS DAY EVERY ONE GOT THE SAME POP. BUT I GUESS YOU WON'T EVEN NOTICE THAT WILL YOU OR HOW SHITTY THE MAIN EVENT WAS THE WHOLE MATCH WAS IN SLOW MOTION AND TIMING WAS WAY OFF. THE ONLY GOOD SHOT OF REALNESS WAS THE AUSTIN CHAIR SHOT . BUT GOLDBERG'S SHOT TO THE HEAD WAS GOOD AND BROUGHT SOME BLOOD WITH IT AND THE REY MESTYRIO MATCH WAS JUST THE MATCH OF THE EVENING OF BOTH SHOWS. SO I WISH YOU WOULD JUST CALL THE ACTION LIKE IT HAPPENED NOT LIKE YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN!!!

THANKS,
JMW

MY EARS!!!

Subject: titantron

You made a mistake during your RAW report. You said the word "Jericho" appeared on the TitanTron. I believe it is now called the EntertainmentTron(TM).

Nick Koroman

Sorry, I'll try to remember this next time ;-)

Subject: Hogan and Road Wild

I gotta tell ya, I became a mark when Hogan came out in the yellow and red. I was excited to see the Hulkster back in action. Unfortunatly, that excitement went straight down the crapper when I saw him in action. I saw the same boring, 45 year old man who looks every year and moves like pudding in the ring. Anyway, on to Road Wild. First off, why is this PPV on a Saturday? Is it a "Road Wild tradition" (if so, why), or some such crap, or is there another, more sinister reason? Finally, does this whole career vs. career match between Hogan and Nash just seem a little too similar and come a little to close to the Austin vs. Undertaker "End of an Era" match to be a coincidence? And why do I think that unlike the WWF match, this match will end in a screwjob, and neither will leave WCW, even for the shortest of times. I mean, Nash is only 40, Hogan just restarted the Hulkster gimmick, and both have huge egos. I just don't see it happening.

Thanks in advance,
Matt Chanon

Subject: About Nitro

Did the Nitro main event sounded that exciting? Maybe I should start watching Nitro instead. (hahahahahahahahahahahahah!) I just want to say that you do the best Monday Night and Sunday Night Heat recaps (which I discovered yesterday) recaps and I want to know if you are gonna do the ECW recaps?

Killah3482

I've already got a special reporter for ECW - a guy who I respect very much and totally shocked me by asking if he could contribute his services. I may still write up the first show but past that, I'll leave it to an expert...

Subject: NITRO on monday.....

NORMAL SMILEY??? you do NOT misspell NORMAN!!!!!

And speaking of NORMAN SMILEY, did you notice that only Hogan had a bigger pop when he came out in red and yellow than NORMAN SMILEY!!! And once Nash makes Hogan retire at Road Wild, NORMAN will be getting the biggest pops of all WCW!!!! Damn straight

Mabrus

Did I REALLY spell it that way? Damn, that's my funniest unintentional misspelling since MARTYR JANNETTY! FREE NORMAL SMILEY!

So until you have something good to say about wrestling save it for the Marks out their.....peace

Billy Williams

Man, I just don't know what to say to letters like this.

You Raw recap was sweet. Why am I a CRZ mark? Because you had the wherewithal to spell the word "centre" correctly when it was used by Jericho, a Canadian. It's attention to details like that that separates the men from the boys.

Subject: jericho

first of all i was one of the luckiest people to be at the allstate arena to witness the "ayatollah of rock and rollah" in is WWF debut...and i dont think he could of made his debut any better than what he did also that was one of the greatest raws ever ...but will jericho have a fued with the rock after summer slam?

Killtrends

Probably LONG after SummerSlam, knowing the WWF. And that'll be just fine with me.

Subject: one month anniversary!

Hey there ol' chap!

In honor of your one month anniversary (okay, so I was REALLY bored), I decided to set up an IRC home for [slash] wrestling. It's located on a tiny, off-the-beaten-path network, located at irc.slashnet.org on #wrestling. I thought it would be cool to have a place where people could come and give feedback on the site n' stuff (or just shoot the breeze) in a more interactive environment. Plus, I'm sure you'll get thousands of followers idling away to get a chance to have an audience with their messiah, CRZ.

In all seriousness, I'm hoping that the channel will become a place for intelligent discussions about the week's happenings instead of degrading into the markish gatherings the other wrestling channels have become (EFnet, starchat to name a few).

If you like the idea, feel free to shill it in your Slash Hype! on [slash]. The channel is already set up :)

Ian

I just don't think this'll fly...but what do I know?

Ben Funk

Thank you!

I was at the Rosemont Hori-errr...Allstate Arena last night for RAW, and frankly i couldn't understand a word Jericho said. We were all too busy freaking out over actually being RIGHT about something to understand a word of it. And giggling like a bunch of repressed catholic schoolgirls ("Hi, I'm Ben and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO NAUGHTY!").

Speaking of which (naughty, not Jericho), an interesting side note: Every single commercial break featured at least one girl removing her top (for a "puppies" chant) and promptly being taken from the arena by security except for one time. "blind" Earl Hebner came down to the ring and had a couple different ladies do the flash for him so he could judge the best one.

I love live events.

The crowd went nuts over Kane's "suck it" mainly because it had been joked about ever since they won their first tag championchip in what, mid-April? I forget.

Anyway, I'm sure you have better things to do with your time. Once again, thanks for the transcript.

Ben

Subject: You really have it in for the Rock!

Man! I love the way you capture the blow by blow and commercial by commercial action of each weeks events.

However, man you have to give some serious props to The Rock. There are two reasons why Rock v. Jericho is important to the WWF.

#1. Jericho seems to be the only non-midcarder that can hold a stick anywhere nearly as well as The Rock...and he can't even do that well enough, let alone sell his dismay at what the millions (and millions) of the Rock's fans and The Rock do to him with the mic. Stone Cold has the same cliches each week and no one else approaches the two of them. at least The Rock throws something new in each week, whether it be a new line or tweaking the old ones to make them work...even better.

#2. There is only room for one good-bad heel and The Rock has it over SC. Jericho played the heel great, turning the crowd against him so they are sold that he is "bad guy." And they still love it. Where SC "whoops arse" on bystanders (i.e., knocking people out of chairs in the staging area and grabbing the chair) The Rock intimidates w/o use of violence, just a tip and feign with the back of the hand.

Again, I enjoy your musings, man...but let up on The People's Champ!

Doug Wagner

Subject: Monday Revue

G'day sir,
I write to applaud you on another pair of excellent Monday Night reviews.

I particularly applaud you on remembering that mysterious and *still* unexplained partnership between the Giant & Chris Jericho last fall. Since it took place in WCW it was, of course, played up for a while, never explained, and eventually surpressed as if it never took place. But, then, is it coincidence that Jericho interfered on ol' G's match on Raw? Perhaps not. I mean, the crazed internet theorists have long hypothesized that Hogan and Nash are actually WWF/McMahon plants setup in WCW to bring it down from within. Is it too much of a leap then to suspect that the recent defections of the Big Show & Jericho are the emissaries of a Turner "Master P"lan to bring about the WWF's downfall? Worse yet, could it actually be that the WWF and WCW are not competitors as it may seem, but both secretly controlled by some "higher power" big brother that simply manufactures the faux "competition" between them to distract the masses from a larger conspiracy taking place before our very eyes!?! Or maybe not. Maybe it's better not to write letters to wrestling writers at 4 AM?

Well, now that I have ruined any credibility that i might have had, I will attempt to make a serious statement. That being that it had to be as obvious to you WresteLinerManiacs as it was to me and the rest of the world that the events of Monday night proved two important things.

One, that Chris Jericho is, at best, the #2 interview in wrestling; especially considering that he was #2 in that segment!

And secondly, that the real Millenium Man, the real Paragon of Virtue, the most obviously electrifying athlete in sports entertainment today is neither the Rock nor Jericho, not even Steve Blackman or Steve Regal. Rather, it is --it just has to be-- that ol' Black Magic, NOR-MAHN ES-MY-LAY, baby!!

When is HE going to get a title shot?
I see cruiserweight gold in his future......

Oh, and one final thought. Now that the Millenium Countdown is over, there's one other inevitability to await. When, oh when, will we get to see Kane's Big Red Crotch-Chop from Hell?!

Subject: RAW is WAR - Milwaukee

Not that it really matters, but after hearing for weeks on end about the lack of CRZ signage on TV, I made a nifty "Wrestleline fears CRZ" sign and toted it with me to the Raw tapings last night. Unfortunately, I don't think we ever made it on TV - I might have scared away the cameramen with the "Rocky still sucks" sign I also carried. That sign got obcenities chanted at me and threats made on my life, while the CRZ sign just got blank stares.

At least some of us appreciate you. Oh, and you get another Blackman match this week, full of kendo-stick goodness. Excellent work. And bring back the letter column, OK?

jon"tick"maske, with no voice left after the big show (no, not Wight)

Hey, I haven't bitched about signage for ... WEEKS! ;-)

Subject: comment on hogan

I totally agree with you about hogan's return to yellow and red. The crowd response was not great, but a lot of ppl are going to say it was. One question: why do a lot of the internet reporters or smarts bash on hogan so much, then say they just want one more nostalgic run as Hulk hogan. Don't they realize that interest in his "nostalgic" could mean as another 5 years of boring hogan wrestling? I really hope he does retire after road wild, for I was once a hogan fan 12 years ago, not now.

Subject: About Val Venis stolen moves

Yo! Is DJ RAN comfortable in your area?

Anyhow, this is about the WWF...

Val Venis is a big All Japan Mark. I'm convinced of it. His first match with 2 Cold-er-Flash Funk was filled with All Japan no selling spots.

Val has stolen many moves from various All Japan preformers (Called Waza in Japan). I shall name four.

First he stole the two knees -side-russian leg sweep from Kenta Kobashi... not Misawa.

Second he stole (though I haven't seen him use it lately) the rapid lariats in the corner from Johnney Ace.

Third he stole the two knees to the stomach followed by a butterfly suplex for Gary Albright. (that's exactly was Gary does.)

Finally his new finisher is Jun Akiyama's Blue Thunder Bomb finisher. It's a backdrop into a powerbomb.

I still think Val should steal the Orange Crush as a new finisher. It's Kenta Kobashi old finisher. It's a extended vertical suplex into a jumping powerbomb. Very mean looking.

FYI...

Hootie- hooch or hootie and the blowfish or hot-coat-or- er something like that...

pXw "All Japan mark and I still can watch the WWF. Neat, huh?"

Benoit has the BLEEPING belt. Will you idiots please stop all that incessant whining now? All he does is get his BLEEP kicked every match and then do that stupid top rope head butt. And besides, his arms are too short for his body. So there.

Subject: I am getting really tired of WWF

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU!, but I'm getting sick and tired of everybody, allways trying to jump the great one,or the Rock, being screwed out of countless matches! Well the people's champ ,I say this, WWF, is afraid to give us what we want and that is Stone Cold vs. THE GREAT ONE,for the title shot.and with Shawn Micheal's as the ref it should be a good ol' fahsion slobber knocker!

And as for this Jerico ass hole, WWF, could have wasted money on buying air instead of this joke! they wasted alot of timeand money introducing a nobody during a chaledge the world would love to see.So, sixty9wayz says this THE GREAT ONE teams up with the fans to put the smackdown on any candy ass that wants to be famous!

Hey, CRZ! I have been a wrestling fan for 15 years and have been reading your recaps for a year or so. I have to very important questions that I am sure are on the minds of millions of wrestling fans:

1. What the hell does "scintillating" mean? It wasn't listed in my dictionary (an admittedly cheap one).

2. Why can't you powerbomb Kidman?

Thank you for you time.
MGD

According to m-w.com, scintillating means "brilliantly lively, stimulating, or witty." My guess is Ross got one of those "Increase your word power" calendars and this one stuck for good... As for Kidman, he's the master of reversing the move. Who knows why? God...and HE ain't tellin'.

Subject: you get letters

CRZ,

Howdy from a long-time/first-time. I find I have to read your Monday reviews, whether I've seen the broadcast or not.

I notice you're not shitting all over wrestleLine in your write-ups anymore, and WL claims to be posting "unedited" CRZ Monday reports (though I haven't actually verified that the text is the same on both sites). Have things been patched up? And what's up with your link to WCW shill Mark Madden's WL page? Point me somewhere if you've already explained it.

My fave from the past few weeks (paraphrased) -- "Closed captioning brought to you by Armor All, because even deaf people can appreciate a real SHINY CAR!!"

Stay Funny,
Rob

I think that if I even MENTION WrestleLine, it's like giving them credibility. I prefer to use them as they use me...as for the Madden columns, I link to them so you don't have to go visit there just to see if he's put something up - I figure you've already bookmarked MiCasa and Online Onslaught. Should I link to their stuff, too? Keep you from having to visit WL totally unless there's new WrestleManiacs stuff? Let me know...

Anyway, the truth is I didn't say "fuck" all that much beforehand - only for effect, so really things haven't changed all THAT much - I want to say it more during Nitro, but...

Subject: Nitro Main Event

CRZ,

Did you notice Shithead Schiavone mastering his domain in the main event? I sat there and listened to him talk about how indestructible Goldberg is, how you can't hurt him as I see Goldberg WALKING around the ring with a knee brace on a previously injured knee. Does he even watch what's going on?

Matthew

You're talking about Schiavone, now? What do YOU think?

Subject: wrestling info needed

Hi

I have a question about open music from the WWF. Who is the group that sings the DX opening and the new HHH opening. If you could email me back and let me know.

Thanks
Gary
A fan

Connecticut Yankee - was it Rick that said today Triple H's brother is involved in that band??

Subject: Monday night thoughts

You mentioned how The Giant helped Chris Jericho back in WCW, same here. First thing I thought of when I saw Jericho's interference was the Giant chokeslamming Stevie Ray.

I was somewhat disappointed in Jericho's speech. He should be ranting about the immorality of WWF and how "Your Paragon of Virtue is here to save you from yourselves!". No dice though.

I notice that Scott Norton has been using the shoulderbreaker again and not relying on the powerbomb quite so much. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact he actually does the move better than Nash or Sid... naaaah.

Oh and by the way, why didn't you catch the fact that the fans were chanting USA for a pair of luchadores? Yeah, I know Eddy's from Texas and Rey is from California but do the majority of the ringside mutants?

Michael Stakely

Wait - did you READ my report? I DID say something about this! Oh man, I end the letters page on this one??

god i hate you. I agree that wcw has sucked lately , but God Damn, give them a stupid break. They fianally have a show that is so worthy of some praise, (at least a little), and all you do is act like you have been a pro wrestler all along.

Your telling me that you dont even like Goldberg? All you can do is say cold beer. Whos the stupin bald ass in wwf that all he drinks is Cold beer.?

You suck. You need a new job idiot. Stop watching WCW. They are now officially too good for you. They finally produce a show we have all been waiting for, and you suck.

My advise to you is, SHUT UP. GO AWAY. DIE ALREADY. WCW is on the way to kicking wwf ass , and we dont want you around later to say, " I knew WCW was better, i just wanted to see"/

Bite me. YOU SUCK, YOUR AN IDIOT. GO AWAY. WITH ENEMY LIKE YOU WCW WILL ONLY GET BETTER.

The most loyal WCW fan around

Sure, I got this one after I put the page up, but it was so good I HAD to use it to cap off the letters page.

SEE YA!
