THE RAVING MARK Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, I have returned. With the third name this column has had in... three editions. I don't get letters. ... ... ... What, you expected me to paste letters? Then send me some! OK, now that the filler space is out of the way, I have a lot to catch up on since I haven't been able to sit down and write one of these for awhile. Actually, I'll likely cover a few key points, then do a quick prediction for Summerslam and my own Attitude review. OK, rather than continuing to try to remember everything that's happened in the past three weeks that I need to comment on, I'll go ahead and do my Summerslam predictions now. Match #1 - "Tag Team Turmoil" This one is horribly tough to call. This match could be used to springboard the Hardy Boyz back into a monster-push level. Or it could be used to continue to get Christain and Edge over. Or, WWF could throw a shocker at us like Mideon and Viscera taking it... oh lord... I don't even want to think about that. Winners: Christian and Edge Match #2 - Women's Championship - Ivory (c) vs. Tori Should be an interesting match, if only for the T&A. However, Ivory is a strong worker, so it may be more than that. I think Ivory will go over in heelish fashion to solidify her standing. Winner: Ivory Match #3 - Lion's Den Weapons Match - Ken Shamrock vs. Steve Blackman Steve is the master of using weapons to maim. Look for Shamrock to spit some blood. Winner: Steve Blackman Match #4 - Double Title Match - Jeff Jarrett vs. D'Lo Brown (cc) I think its predictable. The puppies and their Debra cost Jarrett the match. Winner: D'Lo Brown Match #5 - Tag Team Championship - Kane and X-Pac (c) vs. Undertaker and Big Show Unfortunately, I think the guys with the bigger push go over. Winners: Undertaker and Big Show Match #6 - Hardcore Championship - Bossman (c) vs. Al Snow vs. Road Dogg Tough one to call. I know Bossman loses. That's a given. So its down to Snow and Dogg, both former champs. Hmmm. Winner: Road Dogg Match #7 - "Love Her Or Leave Her" - Test vs. Shane McMahon Test is one of the chosen young guys. His push will continue, likely with interference from Stephanie. Winner: Test Match #8 - Mr. Ass vs. The Rock I really don't think Mr. Ass belongs this high on the card. But wait! There's a wildcard thrown in. How best to start a feud? Have Jericho interfere! Winner: Mr. Ass Match #9 - World Championship - Steve Austin (c) vs. HHH vs. Mankind Austin needs time off to heal. Austin won't job. Mankind will. HHH is your new champion. But wait! Will they really want to have Ventura count the three for a heel in his home state? Hell no! Winner: Mankind And now, to finish off this all-purpose, one-stop serves all needs column, I will do my own lottle review of WWF Attitude. Controls: B- Better than Warzone, but could still be better. Graphics: B+ Great as far as the wrestlers go, but the crowd and other little things like Jarrett's guitar, Triple H's mic, and Gangrel's chalice bring them down. Playability: C+ The load times are terrible, and the career mode can get really boring at times. Re-playability: B+ Due to the number of wrestlers, the decent create-a-wrestler, and a fair (and long) career mode, the game will keep your attention for awhile. Overall: B+ The game really is saved by the entrances. For the most part they are really cool. The create-a-wrestler is improved, if still not at the level of a Super Fire Pro game. The career mode can get tedious, but overall it is well done. The move list is larger, the moves are slightly easier to do. The finishers are revealed this time, which gets a definate thumbs up from me. If you liked Warzone at all, buy this game. If you hated Warzone, don't bother. You won't like this. Until next time.
