WORD FROM THE BUTCHSTER
Butchster Books Living Dangerously

Hello, everyone. I'm your host, the Quintessential Fantasy Booking Mark, Butch "I may only be a 21-year-old man, but my ego believes I can book as well as Paul E. can" Rosser. ECW, fresh off of building momentum and taking the #2 spot legit, has now fallen on hard times. In a fed where guys never seem to miss time, ECDub is now without Jerry Lynn, New Jack, and even worse, Rob Van Dam. Add to that the rumors that Sabu may go back to jobbing in WCW, and things are even worse. However, Living Dangerously can still be a viable card. Here's how:

First off, once New Jack comes back from injury, he's gotta take out Grimes & DeVito. Break their arms, snap a kneecap, they have to build him up so it'll look like he will finally get a one-on-one shot with Angel. Also, Raven finally loses it, turns on Dreamer, and goes back to uber-heel status. Paul institutes a Light Heavyweight Title and sets up a tournament to end @ LD: Nova & Mikey make the finals. Either Roadkill or Doring beats an Impact Player one-on-one to make the Tag title match seem viable. As for the TV Title, Paul E. announces in a month that due to the 30-day limit on the TV strap expiring, despite injury he's forced to strip RVD of the title. RVD comes down, limps in, and promises to give it up--as long as he gets 1st crack at it when he's better. Paul concurs and the fans give Rob a hefty cheer as he sadly relinquishes possession of it. A battle royal is held, and Tajiri & the returning Tanaka are the last two men standing. As for the World Title (contingent upon Sabu staying): Paul announces a three-way dance between Spike (mandatory face), Sabu (tweener) and Mike Awesome (resident bad-ass champ). Therefore, the lineup would have a set up like this:

[3-Way Dance] WORLD TITLE: Spike Dudley v. Sabu v. Mike Awesome
WORLD TV TITLE {vacant}: Yoshihiro Tajiri v. Masato Tanaka
WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES: Doring & Roadkill (w/Electra) v. Impact Players (w/Jason & Dawn Marie)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Nova v. Mikey Whipwreck
Sandman v. Rhino (match originally scheduled for AR)
LAST MAN STANDING: Tommy Dreamer v. Raven
New Jack v. Angel

At the event itself:

  • the Players go out and just barely survive against Doring & Roadkill
  • Super Crazy comes out, unscheduled, only to be met by the ECW debut of Blitzkrieg. He and Crazy burn the house down for 20 minutes, and Blitz posts the upset. This'll get him immediate respect from the ECDub fans for beating one of their known, higher-up light heavies.
  • Sandman beats Rhino. A little help from Dusty, maybe.
  • Raven beats Dreamer, again, after Francine accidentally hits Dreamer with a chair and he falls through a table.
  • Tanaka uses the Roaring Elbow to win the held-up TV title. RVD is there to hand it to him and raise his hand in a nice moment.
  • Simon Diamond comes out. Everyone looks for Jazz--no show. Mike Quakenbush comes out (Joey's research will be used heavily to promote Quack's skills). Quack beats Simon four ways from Sunday, ending the squash with a Quackendriver. Mike is over as a face, and a force in the LH division.
  • New Jack FINALLY beats Angel and ends this damn fued.
  • Mikey Whipwreck, whose insanity has been toned down since winning tournament matches, prevails to become first ever Light Heavy champion. Mikey delivers a total heel interview about how he's the best thing going in the fed since he's held every single title they have.
  • In the main event: Sabu & Awesome team to get rid of Spike early. Awesome smiles and shakes hands with Sabu, assuming Sabu will lay down for him. Billy Ray is wrong. Sabu & Awesome go blow-for-blow for 15 minutes, and eventually Sabu finishes off Awesome and regains the World Title. As Sabu celebrates, Raven comes down and Evenflows Sabu. Awesome staggers to his feet and gets one too. The show ends with Raven center ring with the bodies down around him, crucifix pose, ECW World Title at hand.

And close the book, at least for this week.
