JIM ROSS, JR. REPORT
August 18, 2000

Welcome to the very first all-shoot edition of the Jim Ross, Jr. Report. All shoot all the time with news and opinion from under the white cowboy hat.

SummerSlam is shaping up to be possibly the greatest SummerSlam of all time. You gotta believe that the Triple Threat match for the WWF Title will be a classic. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit in a 2 out of 3 falls match should be fantastic. The TLC match between The Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz, and Edge & Christian will be awesome. The rivalry between Tazz and Jerry "The King" Lawler has hit a fever pitch. More great matches are expected to be added to the already star-studded lineup.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. The RTC is the biggest bunch of hypocrites I have seen in my life. Freedom of speech is what the WWF is all about.

Big Show has been sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling to address his weight and personal issues. This young man is going to be tested to see exactly how much he really wants to be in this business. It's a shame to see a man with all the physical capabilities to be the best big man in the business let it all go to waste because his head isn't on straight.

The response the Undertaker got this past Monday was deafening. And to think not too long ago people were doubting the popularity of the American Badass.

Mick Foley has been superb in his role as WWF Commissioner. Mick is always very entertaining and has a unique sense of humor.

I ordered Turner's Pay-Per-View this past weekend and never in my life have I been embarrassed to be a wrestling fan, but last Sunday that all changed. I felt like my intelligence was insulted when a former WWF TV writer turned on-screen character came out and ordered a wrestler back into the ring because that wrestler was "breaking script." And to hear my daddy's former understudy, Tony Schiavone, say that the other two wrestlers would have to "improvise" was the biggest load of horse feathers I have ever heard in my life. No wonder so much talent has been giving Good Ol' J.R. a call lately because that company is in shambles.

A lot of new faces will be coming in to the WWF after SummerSlam. One of those men is Steven Regal who looks to be in the best shape of his career. Regal is a man who has all the tools to become a major player in the WWF.

I hope everybody picked up a few copies of latest TV Guide this week featuring The Kat, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and Rikishi. The cover story was a well done piece by the way.

A 60 year old ring announcer in the ring against an obese, smartass, and disgusting color commentator with poor hygiene is ridiculous and whoever came up with the idea of that as "entertainment" should be fired immediately.

The press the WWF has been receiving lately regarding it's involvement as a non-partisan party at the Republican and Democrat national conventions has been excellent. You can't buy publicity like this folks! Also, if you haven't done so already, be sure to register at WWFvote.com. Your vote is going to make a difference this November!

Production on Good Ol' J.R. Jr.'s steak sauce has slowed up a bit. However, keep bringing those steak sauce and BBQ sauce signs to the arenas. It's really appreciated!

That's all for this week!

Take care.
