JIM ROSS, JR. REPORT
January 19, 2001

Good Ol' J.R., Jr. makes good on his promise and is back with more opinion from under the trusty white cowboy hat.

I'm looking forward to the Royal Rumble this Sunday night. The ladder match between the two Chrises--Benoit and Jericho--should be outstanding and an early match of the year candidate. What I'm wondering about the most is the Kurt Angle-Triple H match for the WWF Championship. Angle, who will probably be more of a fan favorite than Triple H has never defeated "The Game" and I have a funny feeling that might not change this Sunday.

Rumors are running rampant that Big Show will be back in WWF as soon as the Rumble possibly. Big Show's weight is hovering between 410-415 lbs. which is down from 480 when he started about 6 months ago. Show's last date with Ohio Valley Wrestling will be the show with WWF talent on 1/31, which happens to be Good Ol' J.R., Jr.'s birthday.

Al Snow had a bad case of luck this past weekend. Three teenagers driving a car crossed over to wrong side of the road and hit Al's car head-on. Al broke a knuckle on his hand which was where the wrist injury was when it went through the windshield of his car. He also sprained his next as well. No word if he's going to take these hooligans to court.

The negative talk about The Rock's promo on RAW this past Monday is blown out of proportion. Some people just love to dwell on the negative.

A lot of people have been impressed with Stone Cold's ringwork since he's come back. Stone Cold feels great physically and it shows in the ring as he's relying less on brawling out of the ring.

Vince McMahon's actions around Trish Stratus sure don't seem too far fetch anymore. Especially after reading that exclusive Playboy interview currently on newsstands. I hope to never see Mr. McMahon prepare to give Trish a spanking ever again.

I'm not thilled about Kaientai's latest gimmick, however, the fans seem to like "INDEED!" so much it was on several signs this past week. You can't argue with the majority folks.

Unlike Kaientai, the same can't be said for Lo Down.

From where I sit, Chyna's autobiography is going to turn a lot of heads when it is released on the 29th. Chyna had a very strange upbringing and she goes in-depth on it in the book. From where I sit, this could be a #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers list in its first week.

I highly doubt that an old man who used to pick up a bass guitar and play in his garage and a few "clubs" (more like hellholes) with some friends to impress women is the choice to play bass for Metallica. I know my favorite band is in need of a bassist since Jason Newsted left, but that's utterly ridiculous. Honestly, the PR machine for this old timer in Tampa is worse than the National Enquirer.

Perry Saturn seems a little forced and shaky with his microphone work. The cause was mostly due to rarely getting any opportunity to speak in front of the crowd. More time on the mic for this talented and unique individual is the only way to improve.

Let's all wish a speedy recovering to Sid Eudy who suffered a very gruesome injury during WCW's Pay-Per-View event. Get well soon Sid.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the Royal Rumble!
