THE PEOPLE'S COLUMN

Welcome to this week's People's Column. I'm your party host Andy. My right thumb hurts for an unknown reason so I'll try not to blabber as much as usual. That, and I have three articles due for the college newspaper tomorrow (well, rough drafts) and I'm working on moving my entire website because I have finally gotten sick of GeoCities. If you want to check out the new version of Andy Online, feel free to run to http://www.angelfire.com/ga3/andy/ - a majority of it doesn't work yet, but hey...

I am really anticipating baseball season. Even with John Rocker and his big mouth, the Braves are looking like a great team. The big thing is that Andres Galarraga looks like he's in the middle of an amazing return. He's already close to his usual form in the first few days of spring camp. As Greg Maddux told him: "You ain't sick."

OK, here goes the usual "wrestling" related stuff.

WWF vs WCW:

WWF: OK, I'm going to say something bad about the WWF! It's about time! I think this DX Express thing is stupid. They throw people on a bus, it drives off, and we don't even hear about where they are the rest of the show. Right. I did enjoy this week's Raw, as usual. Seeing how I'm in Georgia and all, it was cool seeing Raw in the Georgia Dome again. Maybe slippy Viscera splashing Mae Young will end this whole baby thing, even though I have to admit the segments with Mae and the Acolytes Protection Agency on SmackDown! were pretty funny.

WCW: Well, I haven't read a good report on SuperBrawl yet. Nitro wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, either. I hate saying this, but I think Hogan is going to be champ again really soon. I've read all of the stuff he's said about Kidman and Saturn and etc, and I've really lost a lot of respect for him. Billy Kidman has more talent in his left big toe than Hogan has in his entire body - and that includes acting ability, too. I guess the good thing about SuperBrawl was that we finally had James Brown produced.

HELL IN THE CELL

Hopefully, Mick Foley won't get too crazy in the Cell this Sunday. You know how he tends to act in these types of matches. Just for reference, here's a list of past PPV cage matches. You know, just in case you get the itch to go rent a video and watch one. Remember back in the days when they actually assembled the cage during the event instead of simply lowering it? That's why there aren't that many from the earlier days. And no, I'm not counting "Lion's Den" matches. If I leave any out, let me know and I'll mention them next week. WCW seems to favor the cage a lot more than the WWF.
