WRESTLING REPRESSION

It took me two weeks over the Christmas/New Years holiday but it finally got done and Thompson Championship Wrestling is on with The Allegory in Thompson, Manitoba to hold BLooDFesT 2000 in a little over two weeks time. This is TCW's third 'big time' event and hopefully its something special. I'm one of four main event of the match, which is a four-way ladder match for the TCW Title. Others in the match are indy stars Dynamite, Juvenile and Justin Asshole. BTW my apologies go out to all that requested information on tapes as we have been in extremely busy in the last month and if you are still looking for a tape email tmtylermorgan@iname.com with the subject line reading tape. Be sure to include a mailing address where a tape can be sent and of course you will have to pick up the shipping. Now onto the what you care about; big three wrestling world.

I haven't had to chance to catch a tape of Nitro this week but from what I've read from a few reports that show didn't look too bad. It's nice to see Terry Funk back in the fold but hopefully he doesn't have to take any bumps in the role he's in. In Funk's last run in the WWF I held by breath every chairshot that man took. Other positive things coming out of the show from a storyline sense...

  • Kevin Nash / Scott Steiner did not win the Tag Team titles
  • Jarrett held onto his US Title
  • AA has a positive on air role with the company

I did happen to get a chance to watch Raw on the other hand and from what I saw it was just your average show that really doesn't give me a LOT of ambition to tune in again next week. I don't like it when a wrestler books the entire show especially when he's booking for the sake of his own heel stable against a few faces. I'm really starting not to like Degeneration X. Not because of their good heel work but because of that fact they're being crammed down our throats as main eventers on a weekly basis. Triple H, I can handle on a main event scale but Road Dogg and X Pac are miles away from being there, and Billy Gunn isn't there just yet and pushing him to the moon before he's ready won't help him get there. Degeneration X can't do it anymore from the humor side as we saw proof Monday Night with the Mick Foley movies. Its not that they were offending, they were just boring in addition to lacking humor.

Rock didn't get much of a better pop in his hometown than he does all over the rest of North America but I guess its hard to better those pops in the first place. I was a bit disappointed in Rock's mic work again this week. Rock can't rely on his in ring product and he has to continue to cut descent promos or his popularity will fade and that's one thing the WWF can ill afford right now.

Once again I have to voice my concern for the way things are being handled with Chris Jericho. I was hoping for something to start between Stephanie and Chris when they were in the ring together last night but it looks like Chris is still being held down in his two month plus feud with Chyna. Maybe I'm just looking for things to happen to fast with Chris as these things do take time but Chris isn't your average worker. I think deep down in Jericho's heart he is almost regretting signing on with the WWF as the young guys are being pushed a lot better in WCW.

Despite original doubts by smarts around the world The Dudley Boyz are going to be a success in the WWF. On another note in the tag division anyone else notice how much the WWF.Com staff want The Tag Straps around Too Cool?

I don't mind the Kurt Angle push to the moon but I don't know what's going on when Triple H is involved. Why put the two most over WWF heels against eachother?

Having The Rock's match the main event over Big Show and HHH doesn't say much for the WWF Title. Big Show was just starting to make us believe he was worthy of being the WWF champion; I don't think it was the right time for him to lose it. With the Royal Rumble/WrestleMania coming up The Big Show will most likely be pushed out of the title scene to make room for Foley or/and Rock which is a real shame. He was just starting to get that credibility to put him within the WWF elite.

Its not any surprise that my favorite contest of the night involved Jeff Hardy. Matt is still working well during his injury and whenever you throw a veteran heel in the mix (who is still entertaining) and two very hard nipples you should be in for a good segment. It doesn't take a genius to figure out Jeff Hardy is going to be a star and he will deliver on his future big time matches like Shawn Micheals did in the early nineties, and that's what made him the legend he is today.
