DIDN'T SEND A TITLE

Hey people what's up? Once again I'm coming to you from the home for people who actually cheer for others who drive in circles. Guess what we might be going out of business. I know a big shocker considering the help spends their time on the Internet due to lack of customers. Now today I don't exactly have a real life story for you to dig into or not dig into depending on your like or dislike for me. Instead I have some thoughts on the strange writing bias that inhabits some online wrestling writers.

Well first off I'm sitting here at my computer at work ignoring customers and this stupid truck race I have to tape for some schmuck down in Sheboygan (Wisconsin that is). I'm forced to watch trucks drive in circles instead of wrestling!! Can you believe that? No neither can I. Like I said last time. Driving in circles is not a sport it is about whom has the best engine. Who really gives a fuck whom has the best engine I want to know who can do the things inside the car best. Which leads me to one of my points. Lots of wrestling columnists seem to be driving in circles. Well what the fuck do you mean Gregg, you stupid fucking moron? Well I will tell you. Lots of columnists seem to copy other columnists. Their format, style, and opinions. In short they have become truck racers. It isn't about who is the best writer or who is the most creative. It has become about who gets the most hits and has the most followers. Forget about putting your sac on the line and saying something controversial against the current popular thought (like HHH is NOT the next coming of Ric Flair, but just like the Rock for better or worse) instead all the emphasis is on who can copy the current style and say the same damned thing better. You have seen it. The wannabe Scaia's and Netcops of the Internet world who do nothing but regurgitate the same shit these two do. Why they want to be like them is beyond me. They are fine writers but you can do so much more quality work than what they churn out. Not to mention different.

I'll admit it though I was guilty of it when I started writing columns for slash. Shit my column was entitled Gregg's Rant. Wow, smell the originality. I ranted and I raved and you know what? It sucked. It isn't me. I like to prove my points and swear and have fun while doing it. Not just swear and spout off funny little sarcastic things about wrestling that don't really have a point besides making somebody laugh (and they weren't that funny). The whole point of this essay writing thing is to make somebody else think. Think about what is going on and just maybe you might have opened their mind to something they haven't thought of yet. Instead too many 'writers' out there find it more important to be funny and nonsensical and bitchy than actually thoughtful.

When I first stumbled across slash I was amazed at the diversity of opinions offered on this site compared to what the other big sites had to say, not to mention the quality writing that pours out of here. The people who wrote this stuff obviously cared deeply about putting out a good product. That is the same thing that I want to come across when I write. A dedication to quality writing that will make you laugh, think, curse, and entertain you. To be honest with you my last column was the first one that I felt really good about. Like I put in a good effort and actually had a chance of entertaining people.

Today I'm just trying to make you think. For those other writers out there reading this try something different and creative this week. Maybe you will find something that will jump-start your writing and you will no longer have to produce what you feel to be the same old boring crap every week. At least try, I know I am.

Well, it is time to close the store this week. The damn race is finally over and boxing is on. No more driving in circles for me.
