MARVELLOUS MUSINGS
suggesting horrible things to do to Japanese wrestlers.

Until you have experienced DESTRUCITY...you only know half the story! - Marvellous Martin.

You'd better recognise the Double M suckaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Erm, okay.

Greetings my Warriors! It is meritable that we should confront our demons of irrepressible fortitude within the bounds of this electrical arena we call......net.

I'm sorry the last column sucked. I've not been well. Hopefully this one isn't quite as bad.

I bet there are some Japanese wrestling fans who aren't exactly overjoyed to see one of their wrestling legends being jobbed out of his title in five fucking minutes to a mid-carder. What is next on Russo's agenda? He could job Muta to Cheetum the evil midget. Why don't they invite Giant Baba over and the Barbarian could fist fuck him? I can see it now - "How you say? I will rip your ass!"

Perhaps Russo should leave creative control over actual matches to someone else, someone who knows what a wrestling match actually consists of. Its painful to watch Benoit, Guerrero and the like wrestle for only three or four minutes. They need longer matches, that's why WCW's roster is so bleeding good. Maybe Terry Taylor could do it?

Do I rant too much? Probably, but was it not the Warrior who said "Stupidity survives only if we remain silent"? Don't understand? Then remember, "Evil invades, only if we evade it." It's all so much clearer now isn't it?

You notice X-Pac only gets over as a heel with the crowd and gets booed when he's doing something horrible to Kane? I suppose that's why he keeps kicking Tori. BTW, didn't she sell that kick brilliantly at Survivor Series? I was very impressed.

I'm getting digital TV next week so I'll be able to watch loads more WWF. After all, "The opening of but one eye begins the recording of a story..."

The WWF needs some help. Austin may never wrestle again, Foley is retiring from wrestling, DX are the biggest heel group in the WWF and they're faces, The Rock is trapped in his own egomaniacal little world, the roster is seriously limited, and so on. I think wrestling in general is in a bit of a state now, I know a lot of people will disagree, but the WWF in the one with the more serious problem. They're being forced to tone down to avoid losing more sponsors, bowing to outside corporate pressure. Vince McMahon is trying to do too much and is asking the wrestlers for input into their booking. Isn't that what started the whole WCW downward spiral? I know the WWF are still annihilating WCW in the ratings, but that isn't what I'm talking about. People are saying "bring back Shawn Micheals", but this is another short-term solution that doesn't make up for a general lack of innovation in recent times, it would be another rehash. The WWF gave us 'Attitude' and changed wrestling forever, but they can't continue to churn out the same product thinking that just because they created the idea in the first place means its still innovative. Guys, I know some of you reading love the WWF, but you are being fed most of the same stuff they've been feeding you for the last three or four years. The WWF 'discovered' hardcore matches and were really pushing it down our throats, though that seems to have passed. I think it was good that Russo and Ferrera left, they really had nothing new to contribute and they're showing this with their rather stale and uninspiring work with WCW. The WWF need genuinely new angles to push, new ideas. I can't find justification for the Test/Stephanie wedding murdering the cage match on Nitro in the ratings the way it did. They need a load more wrestlers too, new ones come trickling through, but the WWF's insistence on bringing every wrestler in with a story line means that they can't bring in too many at a time. Perhaps a little less emphasis on story lines would be beneficial. The problem they have is an over-inflated mid-card with no clear idea of who could be pushed up to main event status or how. Look at Paul Wight, he's world champion and he still defends the title in the mid card. As has been said, wrestling is a fad and when the popularity dies down again the emphasis will be more on the wrestling again and both of the big two will be in a helluva bad state. McMahon needs some input, but looking to the talent themselves is a sure fire way of setting up lots of cliques and causing in fights as egos clash horribly.

If you have not done so yet, read Jim Raggi's letter he sent to CRZ. He perfectly sums up how I and many other traditional wrestling fans feel. If you don't understand how we feel, it is imperative you go read it once you've finished here.

Why won't Xavier Doom return my emails anymore? I wonder what I must have done.

Kanyon is coming back soon, that man had better get pushed all the way to the moon. He has gone under valued for far too long.

Just what is everybody's obsession with what CyanIndigo and Michaelangelo do or don't do, or have/haven't done? So what if CyanIndigo has breasts, lots of women do so just calm down and go outside. She does actually right a pretty good column too if you get past the boob references. Not that I'm complaining myself :)

Musical recommendation for the week - 'Title of Record' by Filter. Get, its great.

That's it for this week.

Take care all of you, mail me please. I love reading mail that people have actually written just for me. It makes me feel as though someone out there does actually care.

Remember - "Warriors believe in themselves. Leaders believe in themselves. Warriors become Leaders."

Always believe, my Warriors.
