MURMURINGS

Hello again! There are times I hate my cable company for not carrying pay-per-view, and Fully Loaded was one of them. Judging from the play-by-play on various newsboards it was a great show.

Glad that the Hardys and Lita went over T&A and Trish. I like both teams (and their valets) but the Hardys are the superior team, in my opinion, and since they've been mostly on the losing side of things recently, they deserved the win. I have to agree with some of my fellow columnists about a potential Hardys/Edge and Christian feud, with a tag team title match at SummerSlam - the Hardys deserve the belts more than any other team in the WWF! (And yes, I think the Hardys deserve the gold more than DX.)

Speaking of the current tag champs, I was surprised they managed to retain the belts at Fully Loaded. Since the Acolytes are very popular - and since Bradshaw is a Texas native - I thought they would win the straps.

I'm disappointed that Eddie Guerrero lost the European title, but I suppose he's had it long enough, at least for now. And besides, Saturn is in the midst of a push right now. I gotta say I don't like the Saturn/Terri pairing - they have zero chemistry and just don't belong together!

And on that note, I want to address how the WWF paired almost all of the Radicals, with the exception of Chris Benoit, with a woman in the hopes of getting them over with the fans. (Eddie has Chyna, Dean Malenko has two different women each WWF program and Saturn now has Terri.) The Eddie/Chyna pairing has worked, but I actually find the women completely unnecessary for Malenko and Saturn. Considering their in-ring personalities, Malenko and Saturn do not need women by their side. The women who accompany Malenko to the ring each week just do not belong there, considering his serious demeanor, and besides that, they haven't helped him get over at all. I'm afraid the Saturn/Terri pairing will have the same results. I think fans will be more interested in Terri than Perry, and when all is said and done, the pairing will have only benefitted Terri, with extra TV time for her. The WWF needs to ditch the gals, write good angles for Saturn and Malenko, develop their characters and allow the two to showcase their talents in the ring. THAT will get them over - not the women!

Val and Rikishi... I'm glad that Val is still the IC champ! I miss the "porn star" antics, but I like his new attitude. And I for one am glad that the WWF didn't give the IC belt back to Rikishi and his giant butt!

On to Raw... Trish Stratus has improved much when it comes to promos. She showed no hesitancy at all during her promo on Lita and Mick Foley, and she showed just the right amount of arrogance. One thingI noticed during the Trish/Lita match: I'm pretty certain that Stephanie flubbed up when she "hit" Lita with the Women's title - to me it looked as if she missed Lita by a good mile! Yet Lita, being the pro she is, sold it anyway.

It looks as if there's more trouble in HHH and Steph's "marriage." Just another incident that'll push Steph into Kurt Angle's arms... Has Triple H even had a vacation since late last summer? He should take some time off to let his back heal, lest he become another Shawn Michaels!

Looks like Road Dogg and X-Pac have their new angle. Concerning the Hardcore division, I think Road Dogg is better suited for it but it's something different as well as interesting for X-Pac so I really can't complain. I do find myself looking forward to the X-Pac/Steve Blackman match on SmackDown, though I'll be truly surprised if X-Pac does manage to win the Hardcore title. Anyway, I think we're actually heading toward an X-Pac/Road Dogg feud, with this friendly bet over who's the better singles wrestler. And of course if this feud happens, it's my hope that it'll lead to the breakup of DX - a gimmic I'm certain at this point no one, myself included, would miss.

I have a feeling the Godfather's hos will be back soon, as they're the only reason he's over in the first place. He'd be in a heck of a lot of trouble if he had to get over based on his wrestling ability alone. Too bad the Saturn/Crash match was cancelled due to time constraints - I'd rather have seen that instead of the boring, pointless Godfather.

Shane McMahon has quite a stable going. I admit I was surprised by the Big Show returning and aligning himself with Shane, considering that before Show left for surgery he and Shane were feuding! I think Kane may soon join the group, as you can just tell he'll turn heel on the Undertaker. Rumor has it that Tori will join Shane and company as well when she returns. However, if she's to fit in she'll have to develop some sort of personality - she hasn't shown one in DX.

I'm almost done, but before I sign off... This will probably not matter to anyone but me, but I'll be in attendance at the Labor Day RAW in Kentucky! It's the first time the WWF has come to Lexington all year, and since it'll be the first time I'll see Chris Jericho, the Dudleys and others who've joined the WWF roster since last summer in person, I'm very excited!

That's all from me for now. Take care and be good to one another.
