Budumdum okay so for this instalement of my column lets take a look at the WWF and their huge ratings over WCW this all looks good and well now but how about when wrestling starts sliding down the media ladder as it has a tendency to do WCW has gotten the same ratings for a long time 2's to 3's they have seemes to keep the same audience that they have had for some time where as the WWF has gone from less than that to 6's and 7's which is a good thing. But what happens when wrestling starts its slide down the popularity pole? Well since WCW has basically not grown huge they don't have far to fall they may lose a small percentage of their audience maybe 10 or 20 percent but what about the WWF if they fall they will fall hard if they go back to their previous rating of about the same as WCW then they will lose over 50% of their audience and that is a lot of advertising dollars when you break it down. Can the WWF handle that kind of loss? WCW probably could because of their financial backers but what about the McMahons? Can they handle that kind of financial loss? With the news of them going public maybe this is just a precaution on Vince's part to save his ass when the tower comes crashing down. How many of you were jeering the NWO when the fake deisel and razor were making asses out of themselves? Probably not the millions and the millions of the Rocks fans because they did not give a shit about Pro Wrestling because its gay or fake or for whatever reason they didn't watch well what happens when they start to lose interest? no more packed arenas no sold out dome shows no more corporate sponsors the WWF will fall hard with a lot of big stars wanting big money contracts what happens when the money coming in isn't there? Are they going to want to stick around or jump to the first person with the ability to pay them. Which is what started that whole NWO nonsense. So once again we come to the close of another column. What did we learn today? Well nothing but the next time you think WCW is trying to drive viewers to the WWF maybe your right its all in Uncle Eric's master plan let Vince screw Vince. Wrestling has never been hot forever and if Vince is not careful, the bottom may fall out and he may lose it all.
