PICTURE THIS

I've been taking note of a few things happening over at WCW.

What's with all the shit about the WWF?  Juvi comes out and tries to do The Rock's schtick.  Look, if you can do a good job of it and be funny, fine.  All this did was showcase that Juvi doesn't speak english very well and the bland crowd reaction confirmed this.

Early in the show, there were technical difficulties for an interview with Vampiro.  Later in the show, Gene Okerlund jokingly suggested that the WWF was at fault for killing the mic earlier.  Again, not even slightly funny.  These guys are really struggling and it is showing.  I feel sorry for them.  Nothing is working.

I want the Nitro girls back and I want them back NOW, damnit.

On a more positive note, I found Crowbar (David Flair's partner) to be a more than competent and entertaining announcer.  He had the sarcasm that Heenan aspires to and the match calling ability that J.R. wishes he had.  The guy is a natural and needs to be the lead announcer NOW.

What would I like to see instead of Nash playing booker?  How about something COMPLETELY different.  The rogue booker has been done a million times in the big two.  Give control to Kidman.  Let him be the nice guy that he seems to be.  Let him try to be everyone's friend and fuck everything up trying to please everyone.  He can alienate everyone and make enemies of everyone due to his non-commital incompetence.  And we could also see matches we wouldn't otherwise, like Smiley vs Nash or some-such.  (Don't get me wrong, I've been singing Kidman's praises for the last couple of years as the best in-ring talent in ANY fed.)

While I'm bitching . . .

Once something is killed, it should stay dead.  I was so sick of the nWo before the angle was killed last time I would wretch at the slightest thought of it.  It's back now and I find myself hitting the fast forward button at it's very mention.

It's no different with the WWF.  While I wasn't yet sick of it, dX was cancelled and that was that for a little while.  Now that it's back, I feel like I'm watching boring reruns.  There's a magic that is lost once something is done and gone that can never be regained.  The WWF is getting stale in a number of ways, and their stagnation with Kurt Angle, the Godfather, and dX, to name a just a few things is starting to get VERY old.  (I just can't get tired of The Rock though.)

Shane Douglas is being rejected by everyone he turns to?  Good.  I have a particular hatred for anyone who can only draw heat by directly attacking the audience.  Gawd I hate that.

If I could pick one of the big 4 in current negotiations with the WWF, I would pick Eddie Guerrero.  I think this guy has it all, a great combination of cool moves and decent mic skills.  He and Kidman were WCW's very best.

Did ya hear when Taz came out last Monday, and a huge number of fans started chanting "ECW, ECW, ECW, ECW?"  Wasn't that awesome?  Would it have killed Lawler and JR to give some slight nod to #3?  I thought they lacked a lot of class is just sitting dumb and not reacting to what the crowd was doing.  I will also give the WWF credit for not editing out that chant, because I honestly believe that WCW would have.

Lastly, who is going to win the Super Bowl?  Before a couple days ago, I didn't know Tennessee and St. Louis had football teams . . .
