BLAH

MIKE'S HUMBLING REACTION

Well, I slept rather uneasy last night. I'm sure many of you know why. As is the case every week, I had to tape the Monday's shows (for domestic reasons that many of you could only imagine). I usually watch RAW (after a certain somebody goes to bed) and tape NITRO at 2 or 3 in the morning. Needless to say that after last night I didn't have to actually watch NITRO to realize that I was in for a very humbling experience. Woke up early this morning, watched NITRO, and all of my worst nightmares began to come true. I knew I would have to give the dreaded WWF their due credit.

With that said and my ego prepared to take some punishment, WASN'T LAST NIGHT GREAT!!!!!!

RAW IS JERI.....umm, WAR!!!

I have to admit, RAW left me speechless and at the edge of my seat (alright I was lying on the couch but I had a smile on my face!).

WWF must've known how to start off on the right foot with me because out comes THE ROCK!! Not only is the Rock untouchable on the mic he is starting to perfect his comedy routine also. The comments about the Tiny Show were hilarious. Of course, after seeing Taker and Show behind the curtain, you know a run-in is inevitable. On cue, here they come. Rock gets beat down, Out comes X-PAC, bye X. Out comes (shit) Street Puppie, bye Dogg. Out comes Kane (yes!), bye Taker, bye Show!!! Rock doesn't give any of them the time of day and leaves me to question why they came out to help him in the first place. I decide not to dwell on it because the Rock was classic and Kane smacked the shit out of Taker and Show.

Quick interview with PAC, Dogg, and Kane leaves me unfazed. What did X-PAC say??

Look its the Commish!! Look at that walk.

Next, its time for the best entrance music in wrestling today...Grangrel enters. Match against Christian isn't bad but the Hardy Boyz leave me utterly confused. Of course, my man Edge comes in gets in a quick one then gets his ass kicked. Again, I'm not fazed....still laughing at the Rock interview.

Them damn Acolytes again. Hey Chris the pictures really need to go!

Here comes Jesse "The Hypocrite" Ventura. I have never mentioned a word about Jesse before. Mainly because he disgusts me. I could care less about what his reasons are, if I lived in Minnesota, I wouldn't want my governor wasting time wrestling. Not that wrestling is beneath Ventura, but it would appear that a state governor would have more pressing issues to tend to. Jesse said participating in SummerSlam wouldn't interfere with his duties because it is on a Sunday. Um, Jesse what about last night? I do believe RAW is on Monday.

Either way, Jesse babbles about this and that and Navy Seals and...who cares Jesse! Takes a few shots at wrestlers who claim to be Navy Seals (possible shot at Saturn??) and makes reference to Bozo the Clown (Hogan? I like that one!). Basically, Jesse just places himself in the middle of things to add to the SummerSlam storyline. I love Jesse The Body, hate Jesse The Governor.

Out comes HHH to confront Jesse The Referee. He talks about lord knows what and basically tells him that this is His World (I quickly make reference to Macho Man!). Obviously there is heat between HHH and Jesse.

Enter Shawn Michaels. The Commissioner puts HHH in his place. Threatens to beat his ass (Ha!) and acts all tough in front of Jesse. Although I despise HHH, I really wish he would've smack the shit out of Michaels. It ends with Shawn declaring a three-way between HHH/Taker/Austin (Again??? Taker/Austin?? It never ends!). Necessary segment for PPV and keeps the story going. Heard some predictions of a HHH win at SummerSlam. God I hope not.

Jarrett vs. Val P..Venis. Who cares. Go Puppies!!!

Oh no Austin has been hit with a brick!!! Do you think its either because he's still hurt or because he refuses to wrestle HHH due to the fact that HHH doesn't deserve Main Event status (can you say Jarrett, cheap joke...sorry). I've enjoyed the show so far but you'll never get me to like Bone Cold.

Michaels thinks HHH is responsible and adds a "girl" to replace Austin in the three-way (I could make a sexual reference to this but decide against it). Geez, that Main Event keeps getting better and better.

Yeeessss! The match I've been waiting for...Kane/PAC vs. Acolytes. Have I told you how much I hate the Acolytes?? Great match and the WWF continues to impress me tonight with a Kane/X-PAC victory. NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!! Hopefully that will be the last we see of these two losers (Note to Chris: This is even a bigger reason to get rid of their pictures). Out comes DOdoubleG to celebrate. Kane speaks without the voice box and my feeling of joy quickly turns to disappointment. Why? I liked the mysteriously quiet Kane. Let's not make a habit of this.

Evidently Taker and Show feel they are celebrating a little too much and proceed to beat the hell out of three. I have to ask, how many different storylines can Taker and Show be in at once?

Abs/Blackman vs. Test/Shamrock. To hell with this, the Millennium countdown is coming to an end.

Out comes The Great One!!! The Rock challenges Show seeing as his sidekick, Taker, is a little busy and Show has nothing better to do. Rock on the mic...man, I love it.

Wait, the countdown is down to 15....10...5 seconds. Darkness sets on the arena followed by a big explosion. This could only mean one thing...YES...its JERICHO! I should let everyone know that I personally don't like Jericho and think he's rather annoying. However, I will blame my opinion towards the Millennium Man on...WCW (I told you this was a humbling experience for me). Jericho portrays the perfect heel as only Jericho can. His entrance into the WWF scene brings me more delight as it appears his first angle will be with The Rock. I predict great things from these two.

Dogg/Bossman!!! I don't do Hardcore Matches...hate em!

Looks like I get a three-peat from the Rock. Damn, I like it. The match against Show is insignificant as Jericho interferes to add to the Rock/Jericho angle. Can it get any better?

Main Event??? Who cares! It couldn't ever top what's happened earlier. Much to my suprise, Chyna wins!??? Of course Bone Cold had to make an appearance. How's WWF going to get out of this now? Everyone knows HHH has to be in the mainevent. Even though I can't stand anyone of the participants in the main event I love the ending.

Time for a monumental moment....I HAVE TO ADMIT, GREAT SHOW!!!!

As if it matters, Here's NITRO.

It must be a sign...Tony is back and Hudson is gone!! I predict a dreadful show.

You know what....Screw NITRO tonight. There will be no match by match recap today just a few points I'd like to touch on.

  • Vampiro is a great mid-card talent. Bischoff needs to jump all over this guy. ICP appears to be making waves in WCW. Although I wasn't too keen on the idea, I like them. What's up with the face paint on Raven??

  • Public Enemy sucks. I don't want them on my TV and I'm sure you don't either.

  • The Women's division just isn't going to work. Bischoff has enough problems with the regular matches, let's not add to the pain.

  • Benoit totally deserves a title but I would've rather had him win it under much better circumstances. Personally, I like it when David Flair shows up but only when he is accompanied by Torrie! Wow, did you see that outfit!!

  • Has anyone noticed that when ever the "new" horseman (Malenko,Saturn,Benoit,Douglas) run in to save one of their buddies, Douglas is always the last one in the ring?? I predict a heel turn here.

  • Screw Macho Man but I have a hard time with Rodman. Why does WCW continue to give him air time when he bad mouths the wrestling industry? The have abandoned storylines in the past on a consistent basis but they continue with this one. I don't get it.

  • I like Eddie Guerrero but I just can't look at him as a face. Go heel Eddie, Go heel.

  • If WCW has to use musicians to fill up 3 hours of programming maybe they should consider going back to 2 hours.

  • HULKAMANIA IS RUNNING WILD!!!???!!! Do I really have to comment on this? Bischoff, Bischoff, Bischoff....WAKE UP!! Is Hogan trying to give Sting and Goldberg a little push of his own (best friends?? C'mon Hogan). I find this hard to swallow as Hogan refuses to retire.

Well I said it was a humbling night for me and you can see why. I haven't totally abandoned my opinionated views but I am left a little discouraged. I've always said that I will give WWF credit we they deserve it, I just didn't think things would get like this!!

Keep up the emails and please be kind this week.

    I need a drink!
