WHO DOES MADDEN THINK HE IS?

By all accounts, he is a sports journalist. His work with ESPN is known. We all know of his love for the Pittsburgh Penguins, he hosts a between period show on the Penguins radio network. He also writes a weekly sports column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Oh, and by the way, he's on WCW's Payroll. Did I mention he's a self-centered asshole?

Whatever.

I got into the whole "behind the scenes" of wrestling on the Internet in 1995 or 1996. I found a little site called Scoops Central. I checked that site everyday, cuz that was the real deal, ya know. Al Isaacs was on the ball. Even though he had this weird Internet/stalking thing going with Yokozuna. But I jest. From scoops central, I decided, there's gotta be some other sites out there, with just as good, if not better info for me too chew on. I eventually found Bob Ryder's 1wrestling.com. Bob was a good guy. He didn't mean to grow up and be a schill. It just happened. Whatever.

Mark Madden proclaims himself the "Jack of All trades." Too easy, set himself up there. Don't get me wrong, the man can write. He has a brillant thought process....But when you work for a certain company, it becomes predictable what your going to write..and I quote:

"Hall then went backstage to help Nash, who had apparently been beaten up by Hart. Considering Nash's disguise, it may have been a case of mistaken identity. That's one butt Bret has kicked before"

Whatever.

That was from his latest award winning column on WCW.com. I ask you, the Internet readers now, How can he justify anything he writes for WCW? The man is a biased, arrogant, loathing, bitter man. You see, I'm going to tell you the REST of the story. You see, about 3 years ago, Mr. Madden was big time. He was to print as Meltzer is to sheet. He told the stories the fans wanted too hear, not what WCW told him too write. You see, Mr. Madden yearned to be in one of the "Big Two". And something tells me, he wanted nothing more, then to write for Vince McMahon. But, he never got that call. McMahon seen what he was in the game for..and it wasn't respect or love of the sport, it was the love of money that brought Madden to the forefront. Greed. Natural fit for World Championship Wrestling. So go's the story, of a man with a vision. A vision that promised black limo's, thick wallets, praise and honor.

Whatever.

What in reality happened, is the Internet found out what a pompous, self-centered maggot Mark Madden is. He can back up his pompous act with big words, but I think he says it best:

"In wrestling, I'm the Internet icon, the most popular wrestling insider in this great land of ours."

Whatever.

There will be a day, when WCW finally crumbles under that "act" of being a professional wrestling organization. And Mr. Madden, well, he'll have to find another job. Perhaps Teen Beat will pick him up to write a series of stories on menudo.maybe he'll find himself flipping burgers for all those people he pissed on during his rise to the top. Just remember, you wouldn't have had to worry about this, had you not sold out.
