BLAH

Here again?

He's a real american. He'll fight for whats right...he'll fight for your rights.....Ok, so that was almost 10 years ago. He's not claiming that anymore, and for good reason. Hulk Hogan doesnt do anything right for you...its all about him anymore. He truly is the wrestling icon. Hulkamania. Its part of the 80's culture that most of us grew up on. We ate our vitamins, drank our milk, and said our prayers...and now, we're kicked to the curb. Its not about the Hulkamaniacs...its all about the benjamins baby...and Hogans holding them all...

22 years ago, Terry Bollea began his prowrestling career. Not even the 6'8 monster knew what was in store for himself. Hailing from Venice Beach, Florida a young Bollea was a star baseball player, and a pretty decent bass player for a local band..but one day, he found wrestling. It's biblical in the sense that, most think of Hogan as the God of wrestling, or atleast its savious in the early 80's.

It's common knowledge, as Hogan has told the story on more then one occasion, that in his first match, his leg was broken. That incident was a wake up call on the young man's part. He came back with a vengence. He didnt think he'd be great...He KNEW he'd be great. But even Hogan didnt know how great....

He was the future of the sport. He knew it, the promoters knew it, and most importantly, the fans knew it. The AWA was Hogans first baby steps into superstardom. He was the young upstart in a world where respect had to be earned, never just given. Size and strength alone would not get you too the top. You had to want to be on top..you had to work to get there. And, Hogan did...and he got screwed over in the AWA. He had seemingly won the world title...but it was taken out of his hands 38 seconds after winning it. Many fans thought, "Hogan will get it eventually" and even Hogan himself had to be thinking that very same thing. But weeks passed, the push slowed, and the heat started to rise. Finally, Hogan couldnt take it anymore, and left for the World Wrestling Federation...we all know what happend from there...a 5 year world title reign, talk of the media..

Fast forward to 1999.

Current WCW World Champion: Hollywood Hulk Hogan. Failure to fix the problems of the past result in painfull exzemption of life. In life, we are taught continueslly. Only those willing to adapt will survive. Hogan feels he's still the man that carries the torch...what about Raven? Who's next, Maybe Goldberg...Why can't it be Sting. Benoit, Malenko, or even Hardcore Hak?

We've seen the Hogan show, its time to see something new. We cant keep eating the regurgitated history of wrestling every Monday night. How many times will we see Randy Savage win a world title, only to lose it too Hogan 24 hours later. Its happend 3 times already..cant we see something new? Please? There's so much talent in WCW.

Could you imagine a Chris Benoit/Dean Malenko match that last 60 minutes, for the WCW World title? Me too. Thats what WCW needs to do to win the Ratings war. Clean crisp matchs, full angle development, and less musical guests. Remember "We wrestle" .....well, thats now construed as false advertisement in my book. And the book..why do the wrestlers have the book? Nash and Page...great guys...decent wrestlers..shouldnt be booking..its a conflict of interest...fix that problem too.

Oh, and Hogan...retire. Its time to pass that torch. Even if its to Horace Hogan..pass the damn torch, before that torch burns you and everyone around you.
