THEY CAN TALK THE TALK, BUT CAN THEY WALK THE WALK?

We all know people like Stone Cold, Mankind, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho and Road Dogg can use the mic pretty well. But can they wrestle? Well, most of the people that are exceptionally well on the mic, really can't. Let's take a look.

Stone Cold:
He's the biggest name in sports entertainment today. He's a 4 time WWF Champion. He's a 2 time WWF Tag Team Champion. He's a 2 Time WWF Intercontinental Champion. He's also won the WCW US Title, WCW Tag Team Title and the WCW TV Title 2 times. Now tell me he hasn't had a sucessful career. After a shaky start in WCW(where he was never given time to really shine) He jumped over to ECW and improved his wrestling and mic skills. Now, let's rewind back to Summerslam 97', which is the turning point in Stone Cold's career. Owen Hart acidentally injured his neck, almost ruining Stone Cold's career. Stone Cold came back though, but he wasn't the same. He had just come off 2 losses to Bret Hart at Survivor Series 96' and Wrestlemania 13, which were two of his GREATEST matches, getting ***** for the Wrestlemania one and ****1/2 for the Survivor Series one. Now, Stone Cold can still put on a show, but not as good as he used to be. He does not do a single technical wrestling move, and his arsenal is mainly punches, kicks, Thez Press, elbow drop and a Stunner. Also, because of his injury, that meant no more BIG bumps, or moves that involve getting hit on the neck a little bit. Now, Stone Cold had a **** match at Summerslam 99', and a **** match at Summerslam 98 and another **** match at Backlash 99'. Now I think Austin will remain in the WWF for a while, and as long as he's on the mic, and putting on quality shows, he will be in the WWF Hall of Fame. No questions asked on that.

Mankind: Who would have thought that a crazy ass son of a gun in Mick Foley would ever be the WWF World Champion. Mankind, AKA Cactus Jack and Dude Love, has been in the wrestling business for over 10 years now. He's had a very sucessful career, and numerous **** matches. and infamous brawls with the Undertaker and The Rock. Nowadays, he is teamed with the Rock, and he's is making every one of his interviews hilarious. The quality of his matches(when he gets someone GOOD to fight) hovers around ***-****. Now, I haven't seen a wrestler that able to keep up a level of matches that high since HBK when he could have carried Goldberg toa ****1/2 match. Mick goes out there every night and gives it his best, and that's the main reason he's so damn popular.

The Rock:
After slumping for a couple of months, The Rock is probably the #1 person in the WWF. He has had the BEST damn interviews in recent weeks, coining such phrases as "Well I'm the Big Slow!" and "The Rock evern talks so much trash, he even does it in his sleep!" Now tell me this: if you were a TRUE WWF fan, you would have been cracking up at both of those comments. No doubt, The Rock is very smooth on the mic. But there still is one thing I'm wondering, does he makes those things up? Or do the WWF writers? Either way they are DAMN funny. Now, not only is The Rock the #1 guy using a microphone today, but he is a damn good wrestler. Ever since his ***** match against HHH at Summerslam 98' in a ladder match(***** in my opinion anyway), he's moved on to bigger and better things: The WWF Title. A great match at St Valentine's Day Massacre, another one at Backlash. And a hell of a good one last Sunday night at WWF Unforgiven.

Hulk Hogan:
One of the men who moved wrestling from something known, but rarely talked about, to a huge thing, bringing in millions of dollars(the other man being Vince McMahon). Now we all know Vince McMahon made Hogan what he is today. And we all know that Hulk Hogan made Vince McMahon what he was BEFORE Stone Cold arrived(Meaning that Stone Cold help bring McMahon to another level) Now, he can get a crowd going with his signature moves(like to calling for the cheers, or the you can't hit me look), but the quality of his matches have decreases every year. The only reason WHY Hogan is still here is because of the nWo. He has not put on a *** match (on PPV at least) in over 3 years. Why is he still around? Well, one thing, every knows who he is. Ask a non-wrestling fan to name a wrestler and who will they name? Hulk Hogan. 2) Well... he does what he wants. I hope he gets senile and forgets he's in WCW. That would be great

Chris Jericho:
The WWF picking up Chris Jericho was the best thing the WWF ever did since they picked up Stone Cold from ECW. Although Jericho hasn't really been able to shine (except for Unforgiven, where he put on a GREAT fucking match), he still is moving up in the WWF pretty quickly. He's excellent on the mic, and when he has someone to work with, it's a must see interview. Now, he's only wrestled in one big match in the WWF so far, and hopefully he will have many more coming. I see a feud with Edge and or Christian in the near future. And possibly a WWF Title Reign withint 2-3 years.

Now, I realize I've left some people out(Road Dogg, HHH, Vince McMahon) but the people I've mentioned are probably the best on the mic nowadays. I might be back with another edition, but it all depends on viewers reactions. Well, e-mail me over at Usa13@aol.com
