 Perceptions: DX2000
Dedicated to Longoria.

DeGeneration X was born in 1997 (the dawn of Attitude Age), founded by Shawn Michaels and Hunter Hearst Helmsley, with Chyna as Bodyguard; later in 1998, HHH "fired" HBK and recruited the New Age Outlaws and also one "Clique buddy", X-Pac. In 1999 DX was separated by the WWF bookers just to be reunited again, but this column is not about DX's History is about DX's Future, so... Lets go from late 1999 until now. ep

DX was reunited (w/o Chyna) and their goal was Vince McMahon and his Family, How? makin a Special Run In at the Wedding between Test & Stephanie, and goin home with the Big Prize: Steph. After a seriously Bad year in Steph Life (abductions, abuse, dark weddings, evil dad, and even a canadian bf !!!, just kidding), her worst Nightmare came in the shape of HHH. A huge Negative reaction by the crowd, fiancee and family, and also a "Bully performance" by HHH, finally snap a reaction on her and she "handle this on her own", and in Armageddon she betrays Vince and joins HHH and DX, and sending dad to face asylum.

Early 2000 and HHH becomes World Champion defeating the Big Show, then DX beat Mick Foley and retired him, and comes the road to WrestleMania. Vince is back and he on the Rock's corner, Shane is with Big Show against HHH and also helpin DX to fight the Rock & Vince, and Linda bring back Foley (why? I still don't know), the whole McMahon family fight each other, but HHH wins in WM, and the next night Vince, Shane and DX are friends, and Vince bring his Corporation (Bossman, Stooges). Now is The Faction McMahon/Helmsley.

Since then, this Regime, Faction or FacGime=81 E&C has been dealing with troubles, specially 2 HHH loses against the Rock, and even Shane is now with Benoit, the FacGime sometimes still fight as one. Now let me share with you my two cents about...

What DX did Wrong:

  • Join to Vince/Shane McMahon's Corporation (again). C'mon, DX was a Rebel group, in fact maybe their Ultimate Heel Evil Thing was performed when HHH "stole" Test's Fiancee and Vince's Daughter, Sweet Stephanie and Marry her, not even Stone Cold could do something so evil to Vince. And after WM, they become Friends? There is a Golden Rule in WWF Attitude Age, Don't Ever Trust Vince McMahon.

  • Kickin Out Badd Ass Billy Gunn. I'm Sure you hear that "X-Pac Sucks" Chant, well, Billy Gunn & Jesse James In Ring Chemistry was Way Much Better than Whaltman & James, and that Mes Amis, it hurts DX. A tag team who has No Chemistry means an Angry crowd or worst... a Bored crowd. And Yes, I know The New NAO still win over everyone, but you know how can you "earn" a victory today. They made a mistake kickin out Billy Gunn, the WWF give him a push last year and later drop the idea (maybe because Austin didnt want to work with Gunn and Jarret), and now what the WWF is gonna do... push him single again? they already break the NAO a year ago, just... to bring then again without explanation.

    and about...

    What DX Should Do:

  • I liked Chyna and HHH, but I Love Stephanie and HHH.

  • HHH and Steph should Break with the Corporation & pals (Vince/Shane, Stooges, Bossman, T& A).

  • HHH and Steph should also Break with X-Pac and Road Dogg and then look for New Blood (NO, No WCW people) and become True Heels, in fact, the #1 Heel Faction in WWF.

  • Who could be the new DX ? How about Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. Why? Benoit is the Damn Best Wrestler Today, so, you think is better to have the Best wrestler In Your Side or Against You? Now about Kurt, I know there is an angle (No pun Intented) where Steph is flirtin with Kurt and also the "Abstinence and Clean Life of Kurt" angle, how about, if Steph finally cheats on HHH with Kurt makin him a Degenerate and askin HHH to accept Kurt in DX, and last but not least, bring back Shawn Michaels as manager.

  • DX's Goals? HHH lookin for the World title, Benoit for the IC title, maybe a team Benoit/HHH or Benoit/Angle for the Tag title, Steph still is the Women Champion and then becomes owner of All Main Titles, like NWO2000 with Hart (World), Jarret (US), Hall (TV), Nash (Tag w/Hall).

  • Another good recruits could be Edge & Christian or Eddie Guerrero and Chyna (We all know Guerrero is Better as Heel).

    And about the NAO, they should accept again Badd Ass, become a Faces and keep Tori as Valet.

    I think this could be work, at least until November's Screwin Series, when finally Steph will leave HHH.
