OVER THE LINE

Hello and welcome to a new Over The Line column, with a new format. Yes, that's right, as I have started writing for a new site (crz.net of course) I have taken it upon myself to change some things. Gone is the tedious WCW mat musings, gone are the fan pictures and gone is the 'Where are they now?' section. This is a new show, this is my show (egotistical comment).

Well, first off, I'd like to relay some of my Raw and Nitro thoughts to you. As most people have pointed out, it was NOT X-Pac playing Mankind in the DX skits. In my own damned opinion it was Mideon (read Mick Foleys book for more details) but as usual in this business, only time will tell.

Another interesting angle developing at the moment, is the X-Pac-Kane-Tori love triangle (well not exactly a love triangle) and what happened when Tori was forced to spend time with X-Pac. I think the WWF are going to turn it into a gig angle, with the inevitable X-Pac-Kane match in the near future.

Quote of the week: When Kane was wrestling Kurt Angle on the 3/1/99 Raw Lawler said, "Since the fire Kane's only had one eye!"

Well I thought it was quite funny.

What does everyone think about David Flair's new gimmick. Cool or shit? What about Kevin Nash? Yeah what about him. I think Nash (as usual) is going to get a huge push, that's going to last until the next World War 3 when he will book himself as the winner. Does anyone know the last time Kevin Nash bladed? If you do know please tell me, so that I can put a picture of it on the wall and...

Ok enough of the Nash bashing. Apparently (according to good ol JR) Terry Funk is still under contract with the WWF. As you should all know by now, Funk appeared on Nitro, as the new WCW commissioner. Many smarts thought Flair would take this job, but apparently he couldn't be bothered, so...

I am about three quarters the way through reading Mick Foleys autobiography, and to put it mildly, IT'S GREAT. No wrestling fan should be without this written masterpiece. Some call Foley a god, some call him a wrestler, but now Foley is also a writer.

On the subject of new wrestling gifts, I recently acquired a copy of Wrestlemania 2000 for the N64. It's a great game with a create a wrestler, PPV and belt modes, among other features. I fully recommend this game to anyone with an N64, it is pure class.

Also, a word from this column goes out to Gary Albright's family and friends. Rest in peace Gary.

As the Royal Rumble is fast approaching, I'd like to share some of my thoughts about that event. Cactus Jack will probably be involved, on the night, in some shape or form. The main event will either be, HHHvs. The Big Show or HHH vs. Mick Foley. Now who will win the Rumble itself? I'm not a physchic, how the fuck do I know!
