WWF ATTITUDE for the Sony Playstation

Finally, The Rock has returned to your Sony Playstation. That's right fans, the WWF ATTITUDE game is finally out. So grab your favorite controller and let's start beating some ass. This is Acclaims follow up to their smash hit WARZONE. Which was the best wrestling game available without modifying your system. This was the first wrestling game where button mashing wouldn't get you the pin. A great game engine kept this from being another IN YOUR HOUSE clone. The sales and reviews of WARZONE were incredible. It was a must own for any fan. So how could they top it ? Easily. By keeping the same engine and giving us better graphics and more features. And believe me, this game has more options than any other game I've played in a while. So grab your favorite chair as I take you on a tour of this digitalized squared circle.

What would a wrestling game be without a large numbers of characters to choose from. ATTITUDE has 30 playable and 10 hidden characters. The only top singles stars I could find missing were The Big Slow (thanks CRZ) and Hardcore Holly (you can create him though). Everybody is here and if they are not. Then you can build them yourself. Creating a wrestler is too much (no pun intended). Acclaim even went so far as to include everything you need to create your favorite WCW and ECW guys. Even the FBI is here. This is ine if the biggest selling points of this game. Imagine this, Jimmy Snuka vs. Cactus Jack in a cage. This keeps the game as fresh as your imagination. Five chairshots for the character roster.

The overall graphics of ATTITUDE are pretty sharp. Some of the characters look better than others, but who cares, it's a minor flaw. The lengthy ring intros are very close to the real things. They're pretty cool the first couple of times. After that though they're just a waste of good pummeling time. Have I mentioned the blood yet ? There is plenty of it. The amount of detail put into this game is really amazing. From Mankinds''shuffling to the bounce of the ring ropes, it's all top notch. The crowd still looks a little flat. Only minor flaws were found in the graphics dept. Four chairshots.

If any one part of this game could be it's downfall I'd have to say the controls. They can be a little annoying at times. Sometimes your wrestler doesn't line up with the other guy properly. (this is a big drawback in the tag matches and anytime you've got to kick more than one guys ass) It also causes you to bust up your tag partner. You can only say "sorry" so many times. Your basic moves are pretty easy to pull off. The controls don't really become a problem until it's time for that clutch finishing move. Oh man, I didn't want a standing wristlock. So the controls could have been cleaned up a little bit. But they are easy enough for your common jabroni to pick up and have fun with. Four chairshots.

"Can I get a witness", thanks Shane. The sounds and voices of ATTITUDE will have you giggling like a cub scout farting in a tent. All of the catch phrases are here. Just make sure that you adjust the settings on the game. The Teflon King and Skippy (thanks again CRZ) spout some of the funniest lines ever heard on a video game. I won't ruin it for you. You'll see for yourself. The sounds of the weapons popping off are also crisp and humorous. I think the bedpan is the funniest. All I can say is WOW! Five chairshots for the audio.

Will this game collect dust ? No way. The replay value of ATTITUDE is off the charts. King of the Ring, PPVs, weapons, cage matches and many more features create endless hours of play. Too lazy to play ? Not a problem. Create your own PPV and watch it. If you want the tiring schedule of a wrestler, then play career mode. Start out doing house shows and work your way up. This mode contains such unfair matches as the 2 on 1 and the 3 on 1. These suck. You'll also get teamed up with whoever the game picks for you. Ahh nuts, I got Sgt. Slaughter again. You also get up to 4 player action if you have a multi-tap.

Five chairshots for the replay value.

This game rules the squared circle. Acclaim has once again given us the new Heavyweight Champion of the Wrestling Games. Now go buy it and start layin the smack down.
