I LIVE UNDER THE BRIDGE

On WCW:

Mayhem was a disappointment in all aspects. One thing that makes the mind boggle is how Chris Benoit made it to the finals. It is obvious that the man cheated somehow, because there's no way he could beat a great wrestler like Jeff Jarrett. I'm glad he lost, eventually, but did he have to lose to Bret Hart? I mean, seriously... the man wears pink tights. If I were walking down a city street and saw a guy in pink tights fighting an ugly little guy who couldn't wrestle very well, I wouldn't stop to watch or cheer. Why were those fans cheering? I guess they needed to feel like they got their money's worth.

Goldberg and Sid waged a battle to the death at Mayhem, and I, for one, was sad to see Sid die. I know that wrestling is fixed and all, but when incidents like this happen, serious steps need to be taken. I hope that Goldberg gets out of jail soon, but not too soon - he needs to atone for his terrible crime. Why did WCW feel the need to mock the late Sid Vicious and the incarcerated Bill Goldberg by having Kevin Nash dress up like both of them on Nitro? Totally tasteless, although the make-up jobs were a lot better this week. While WWF-haters are busy raising a fuss about J.R. on RAW, mockeries like this are taking place on Nitro and no one's saying a word. What gives?

You know, I may catch a lot of heat for saying so, but I don't understand why so many "insiders" and Internet pundits think that Brian Knobs is so great. I mean, I know the guy is popular and probably moves a lot of merchandise, but I don't really like him. Nothing personal against the guy, but I don't appreciate his ripping-off of the "Nasty Boy" Ric Flair. Flair is a legend and deserves to retain his moniker, even if he's old. You don't see Norman Smiley calling himself "Hulk," now do you? Speaking of which, why does Flair insist on spelling his first name without the traditional "k" at the end? You don't see Terry Bollea calling himself "Hulc," now do you?

After being treated to both Meng and the Barbarian speaking English in the past couple weeks, as well as La Parka and Kaz Hashi, I'm beginning to think that this whole "can't speak English" thing is just a total work! I say give guys like Damien and Konnan a chance, and let them try to speak English on the mic. Who knows? As Meng and Kaz have shown, anyone can speak English in WCW!

On the WWF:

Kurt Angle knows what wrestling is all about. Never before have I seen such vigor and emotion in an athlete! My question is - why the long wait? The WWF or WCW seem like the next immediate step after winning Olympic gold in wrestling. One thing I hated about his match on RAW was the blatant exposing of 'the business,' though. Mark vs. Angle? Did Harley Race book this?

It is uplifting to see that the World Wrestling Federation has taken my suggestions to heart and employed the use of police officers to enforce the law within their organization. RAW is COPS now, and all of the evil, deal-breaking heels had better get their acts together before they get sent up the river. Kudos to the WWF.

Now that I've got the previous paragraph out of the way, I have to say that putting Vince McMahon in jail was the worst injustice I have ever witnessed. I hope that man can afford a good lawyer... People always talk about Vince getting screwed, be it in Canada or on business deals... now you know why. Vince should not be in jail; those nWo thugs that pushed his family down a flight of stairs are the ones that need to do time.

I noticed that the WWF has signed a new talent! Welcome back to the fold, Sergeant Slaughter! If the WWF doesn't misuse Slaughter the way they've misused Viscera and Austin, he could be way over. "There are only two ways out of my command: on your feet like a man, or in a ditty bag... an ITTY-BITTY ditty bag!" I guarantee that the fans will eat it up. "Stone Cold" who? I'm sure that this signing will be beneficial for WWFE stock - it proves that the Federation can still attract talent, despite the recent bad press the WWF has gotten (Vince going to jail, Boss Man committing the Civil War Crimes, etc).

All in all, RAW was a great show this week. Now that the police are on the job, the heinous crimes of some WWF performers will finally be responded to. I noticed that Steve Austin has been gone as of late... hopefully, he's in jail with McMahon. The next time you see an officer of the peace, thank him heartily for returning law and order to the world of wrestling. He deserves it.
