RIKISHI AND STONE COLD-WTF?!?

Okay, so I know that whatever happened the whole "Who ran over Steve Austin" was gonna be a huge disappointment, whoever it was. Seeing as we were given enough time to think about it, us internet types had already thought over every option and done it to death, thus ensuring that nothing would come as a shocker. But RIKISHI? Come on, we're expected to buy that? I sure as Hell hope not. Let's take a look back at the Survivor Series last year, shall we? Hmm, blonde suspects, blonde suspects.....Hardcore Holly, a legit tough guy with a chip on his shoulder, who's been held back for seven long years at the hands of the Stone Colds of the world....Crash, his diminuitive cousin, a kid with lots of attitude looking to make a name for himself.....Shawn Michaels, a former superstar who was all but retired by Austin at WrestleMania 14.....Chris Jericho, a newcomer to the organisation with a smart mouth and something to prove after being made to look bad by Chyna, The Godfather and others. But Rikishi? Where was he last November? He was one week into his WWF tenure, having just one his first match-a Metal squash of Crash Holly. He was a bottom of the rung player with no personality, no mind-blowing inring skills and not much hope for the future. Just because he's hit the big time since then, he's suddenly been thrust into a storyline that makes no sense. First off, Rikishi's a fun-loving guy, right? So why the Hell would he do something as underhanded as run someone down to allow his cousin to advance in the world? Wouldn't he just help the Rock in the ring as much as possible(and considering what position the Rock was in last November, he didn't really need the help)? Rikishi is not an evil character, and to have him do something as cold as run a guy down is ridiculous. Sure, turn him heel if you must, but do it in a believable way-like when he squashed Chyna at Unforgiven. Not like this.....

As much as Rikishi has improved since his debut, he's still not deserving of such a lofty spot. Feuding with Steve Austin? No way-remember, this is the guy who refused to work with Jeff Jarrett because he was beneath him. It ain't right.

So what do I propose should've happpened? Glad you asked. You didn't? Oh well-you're gonna hear it anyway.....

RAW kicks off with a Foley promo just like this week, as he addresses the crowd and says he understands why they are booing him and he feels just as bad as they do about Austin's suspension. He then turns to the topic of the driver, and says, just like he promised, he would deliver the driver tonight. He turns to the entrance, saying that he "knows you're back there, so Sahwn, get the Hell out here now and we'll get to the bottom of this one." "Sexy Boy" plays and Shanw struts out, mouthing off as he walks to the ring. Foley reels off a list of things that suggest Shawn's guilt-his past problems with Austin, the fact that Austin basically retired him, and that Michaels was nowhere to be seen at Survivor Series-but WAS booked into a hotel in Detroit. Rather than explain himself, Shawn Michaels tells Foley to kiss his ass, saying he doesn't have to explain his innocence to anyone. Stone Cold's music hits and he walks to the ring. After telling Foley that a "sorry-ass suspension" can't stop him, he turns to Shawn, and says that "he's staring the Rattlesnake straight in the eyes, and you damn sure have to explain his innocence to him". The scene becomes more and more tense as Austin and Michaels square up to each other-but Foley gets between them, telling them to save it-for later tonight. Foley makes a match, for Shawn to come out of retirement and settle ALL their issues-Austin retiring Shawn AND the possibility of Shawn being the driver.

Match time comes and it's a heated match, with Foley providing colour commentary at ringside and Shawn and Steve beat the Hell out of each other. Austin evntually takes the win after ducking a superkick and landing the Stunner. Austin drags Shawn to his feet and Stunners him again, and Foley gets in the ring to stop a third-so Austin Stunners him too. Austin celebrates with a beer-and the Y2J Countodwn hits. The crowd is baffled as Austin readies himself in the ring-and Jericho comes through the crowd with a chair and lays him out. Jericho then cuts a BIG heel promo, trashing the "fossils" lying in the ring and periodically smashing the three men with the chair. He reveals himself to be the driver, saying that with Austin out of the way Jericho could become the "number two guy in the company....second only to that eyebrow-wielding idiot". And now that Austin's back, he will return to his old antics in order to stay awake. He finishes with "Nothing personal, jackass-it's all about the FANS!!", before walloping each man a final time as RAW goes off the air.....

It works, I think. Jericho's dying as an upper card face, he has a motive-to get ahead in the fed-and would make a kick-ass heel opponent to Austin, especially if he goes back to his old coward character.
