REBECCA'S RANTS

Hey Everyone!! Rebecca back with my post PPV rants...let get straight to business...

I don't know where to begin first, with Chyna making history, or the legendary ladder match...lets try Chyna.

First off I want to congratulate Chyna on becoming the first women in history to hold the second most prestigious belt in the WWF!!! I love this storyline, and for all you men out there that have a problem with it...I got two words for ya...SUCK IT!! Chyna has trained hard, and she puts on impressive and entertaining matches. Also she is not afraid to take some pretty impressive bumps in the ring. I have read all over the net that people are expecting this reign to be short, I have even heard one person (a man of course) call it a novelty reign. Well this shit just pisses me off to no end. I feel Chyna has the ability to get in the ring with most of the mid carders in the WWF. Plus there is the potential to create a lot of interesting and completely new rivalries. I mean look what the WWF did on RAW ...out of nowhere, here comes Y2J spewing out a lot of what some male chauvenist pigs are saying on the internet. Boom... instant rivalry. I know that as a Chyna fan, I was ready to jump through my TV screen and literally scratch Jericho's eyes out for what he was saying, but after I calmed down sufficiently I had to give him all the credit in the world, this is exactly the reaction he is supposed to get from me. Jericho is playing this angle to the hilt, and I for one cannot wait for this match, or series of matches to start! I will say that Chyna better get in the ring and train hard, because Jericho is an excellent technical wrestler, and she's gotta polish those skills of hers. But she has every right to be there!

Ok, now I want to talk about the historic ladder match. This match between the Hardy's and Edge and Christian was the most entertaining match I have ever seen. These four men went out there and gave 150% of themselves out there, and finally the fans showed their appreciation. I have never seen at a WWF event, a crowd get up and give any competitor a standing ovation for a series of moves they executed, but in this match we got several standing ovations, and god were they well deserved. I was giving them a standing ovation in my living room. Everytime I thought, this match can't get any better it did. And the King's and JR's commentary throughout was priceless. After the umpteenth time of falling off the ladder in some seriously painful manner, even the King had to admit that even Terri's (aka whore's...did you see that sweater she was wearing) services weren't worth putting your body through this. My favorite moves would have to be the leapfrog over the ladder into the monstrous leg drop by Jeff Hardy, the awesome hip toss by Christian, and of course the best, Jeff Hardy jumping onto the edge of the ladder and having it seesaw up into Christian and Matt's faces. This was just too much!!! And to make matters even better, Christian and Edge lost, so they are not strapped with Terri as their manager, but didn't lose any face by losing because of the incredible match they put on, and lack of any kind of pinfall. Also, I loved the show of respect on RAW, that was a class act all the way by all four competitors...and then they ganged up on Gangrel...I don't know where they are going with this, but I am anxious to find out.

So we got the great stuff that went on, now onto the good stuff...I have to admit that although far from any kind of match filled with technical mastery, I enjoyed the hell out of the main event at No Mercy. Austin came out with that fire that made him famous, and HHH more than held his own. The first 8 minutes took us all over the arena, which was fun to watch. I thought it was very interesting how both men hit their end moves, and didn't win that way...enter Rock attempting payback from earlier sledgehammer shots, he hits the wrong guy, and HHH gets the pin over Austin, and he gets the pedigree on the Rock. I feel it was very necessary for the WWF to give HHH this kind of victory. He got one up on the two big faces in the company and he actually kind of seems like a legitimate champ now. But of course people are never happy, and I have actually read somewhere that people are angry that Stone Cold didn't job cleanly to HHH....what the hell, when was the last time a top face jobbed cleanly to any heel. Heels cheat to win, that's what they do!!! That's why they are heels!!! Now I am not a Stone Cold mark or anything, but I think he's getting a bum rap, first off, all of that crap going around that net that Rock and Stone Cold are enemies is bullshit. I read a very interesting interview with the Rock that said that Stone Cold has been extremely supportive of Rock's growing success. So what he decided not to work the program with Jeff Jarrett...personally I don't blame him. I happen to agree with Austin on this one. Jeff Jarrett is just not on the same level as Stone Cold and he never will be, in the WWF anyway. The fact that Jeff Jarrett decided to leave a company that has spent over a year building him up, giving him a very long (by today's standards) IC run, and one of the most entertaining heel personas in a long time was his choice. Personally, I don't see that he had much to complain about. He was in a very exciting story, and he was getting more heat than he ever had in his life...so much that it seems he has taken his exact heel character with him to the WCW...Oh so what he couldn't get in the main event...hell either can Kane, who is much more dynamic and talented than Jarrett. How many years did it take Mick Foley to get in the Main Event...how many times did he have to bleed and take major bumps before he got his title shot...Instead of putting the blame on Austin, it should go to Jeff Jarrett. So basically I say good riddance to Jeff Jarrett and good luck in getting in the Main Event in the WCW, where he will now have a bunch of Main Eventers who will probably refuse to work with him, because they don't work with anyone!!

Most of the other matches in the PPV were decent, but nothing special...

Godfather vs. Mideon was an exercise in pure torture. Why is Mideon still on my TV screen...he should be locked in a dungeon with Blackman, and other wrestlers who can't get any heat.

Poor Ivory, is all I have to say. I happen to think Ivory is very talented. But how can you work a match if your competitor can't remember to do anything, and can't move at all. I felt sorry for her watching this match. The only thing that kind of saved the match was Mae Young and her insane bumps...now we have a Moolah vs. Mae Young on Smackdown...this match along with some of the current angles in the WWF now should be filed in a What the Fuck File! Why would McMahon or any of the bookers get the impression that anyone wants to see this match. I for one would rather go through Chinese torture than to sit through this match which promises to be an embarrassment to both of these Hall of Famers. Why is Vince allowing this to happen? Does Moolah have a terminal illness, and this was her last request to Vince? Of course I hope not, but nothing else makes any sense here...Please I beg you...end this madness, and give the belt back to a competitor who can actually hit spots, and do interviews!

Speaking of terminal illness, the Big Show/Bossman angle is just out of line and must end. I understand that Bossman is a despicable human being...I get it, there's gotta be a better way to get this point across than by having him hire a cop to tell Big Show that his father has died. The WWF should be the last people to screw around with any angle involving dying...especially since they have seen first hand what death can be. On a side note...I think Paul Wight has been quite impressive in terms of acting ability during this story, so give him another dramatic story, just not this one.

Ok, I have to vent for a minute...Why did Kane have to lay down for X-Pac!! Kane should be fighting the big names in the WWF, instead he is getting pinned by X-Pac after nothing but a flying drop kick. When I saw this I was so angry, I thought I would scream...well at least this is the end of this story, and he will destroy X-Pac on Raw tomorrow I hoped, but no, instead, they come out as a team, as if nothing happened...HUH. I must say though, their match against the Dudley's was great, as I love the Dudley's. As much as I hated hearing them make fun of Kane, it was very funny, and it definitely drew them some heel heat. The Dudley's are well on their way to becoming a serious force in the WWF!! And it looks like the Headbangers are getting a push too!!! I loved on Heat when they were making fun of the Dudley's...classic stuff, now if only they could garner some crowd reaction!

Other notes of interest:

Was it just me or was it hilarious watching the NAO trying to fight the acolytes without a top rope. They didn't know what to do! It all started with Billy Gunn being whipped off the rope and then he just fell, because the rope had no give. I was already laughing my ass off. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good match considering...whereas their match against the Holly's at the PPV was only so so.

What was up with the Test/Bulldog match. I was really looking forward to this match, because I was hoping for Test to get some revenge for his lost love against the Bulldog, who I absolutely hate...but no instead the Posse are back and now backing up Bulldog....god I thought this angle was over. Test destroyed them all, now shouldn't he be allowed to move on.

So now the Holly's are champs! I loved the way this was set up on RAW. I thought Foley gave an Oscar award winning performance. I was so sad for him, that's how effective his diatribe was!! And then just sitting outside the ring, looking so dejected, god it was enough to break my heart. So the Rock loses to the Hollys (who are the Hollys?) and now we have new tag team champs. I for one am very happy with this turn of events, not so much because the Holly's are the champs, but because this means that the champs are now heels so a lot of the awesome face tag teams...ex. Edge and Christian can now challenge them for the belts. That is of course if the WWF doesn't put the belts around the waists of the NAO again. I don't think the NAO need the belts as much as some of the other teams. Like the Rock said in that interview I mentioned earlier, he doesn't need to wear the belt right now, he is over enough without being the champ...other people need to belt to be more over...the same is the case with the tag belts...the NAO are by far the most over tag team, they will be over if they are champs or not, so why not give the belts to Christian and Edge or the Hardys, who need it more, although, after the ladder match, hopefully they will have no problem being over now.

So the Rock and Sock Connection is dead, and it looks like a possible heel turn for Mick, although, I still like him better as a face, so I hope this doesn't happen. Also, there is talk everywhere that Stone Cold is going to make a heel turn. Well I personally don't know what the WWF can do to make Stone Cold a heel, not even beating up on the Rock will do the trick. I honestly don't think there is anything that Stone Cold could do to make the fans turn on him...he may not be as popular as the Rock, but the fans still love him a lot! I don't understand why the WWF can't just keep them both as faces. Hell, a face Rock and a face Stone Cold would still be one hell of a matchup, esp. with the popularity that both of these superstars have now. I for one loved the hatred and tension between them on this week's RAW. I thought the crowd was going to go nuts when the Rock was taking off his shirt, and him and Stone Cold were staring each other down. I think the WWF is doing a wonderful job of setting these two guys up to face each other, throw in their mutual hatred of HHH, and that's one main event match that I am already salivating over, and none of these 3 guys are even my favorites. The main event at survivor series should be a wild ass ride.

Well until next time...See Ya!
