REBECCA'S RANT

Hey All! Man once again, I missed a week...but I have a good excuse...my heart has been broken and I was uninspired last week...no...its not because Matt Hardy was making out with Lita...although that certainly didn't help...so I find myself single once again and still uninspired, but I figured since there is a PPV coming up this weekend, I would just start typing and see where it leads...

Onto the Rants...

So of course I have to start out talking about the kiss...holy crap...that was the best kiss I have ever seen on any wrestling show. Unbelievably I've read some people say that they had no chemistry...what are these people on crack? The "kiss" symbolized to me something that has always been missing from wrestling something that I always wished would garner a bigger role in "the most violent soap opera on TV"...ROMANCE. And I ain't talking about Perry and Terri...that is not romance...that is not passion...hell I don't know what the hell that is. But what happened between Matt and Lita...that was hot...that was passionate...and I'll tell you right now it reduced me to a babbling, hormonal, over heated blob of goo...and all without saying a word.

I was reading Steve Harper's very excellent column on Wrestleline and he has some really interesting things to say about the Matt and Lita situation. I am torn between loving it and absolutely hating it for obvious reasons...but he feels that this will elevate Matt to becoming a very over singles star, and I have to say I agree with his logic, but not with what he thinks will happen. He thinks that Jeff will turn heel, leaving Matt face and when they feud together it will put them both over huge. Personally, I don't think that Jeff could ever go heel, at least not to the millions of women fans out there...he is just too beautiful. I know this sounds like a ridiculous reason...but as a woman I can tell you its true. Jeff is rainbow brite for god's sake...he is all happiness and light. If anything Matt is the dark brooding one and he is the one they should turn heel...and they could do so easily. Have him become crazy overprotective of Lita...she can't stand it and just wishes things would go back the way they were. She starts to rely on Jeff for comfort because he is always the one that has been there for her and supportive. They fall in love and Matt finds out...going crazy in the process. Ok, its true I love those heels, and I am not ashamed to admit that the thought of Matt as a heel has me practically salivating on myself...so I am hoping that is the way they go with this angle. In the mean time...what is the Hardys role this weekend at No Way Out? They don't have one...yet...but for some reason they are suddenly thrust into a feud with Big Ass and Hard Head...better known as Rikishi and Haku...Quick question for Haku...why on earth did you pile the brothers on top of each other on RAW? Did you just want to see how they looked like that? I think there was some kind of miscue there or something...who knows...but getting back to the Hardys for a minute...I am very excited about the prospect of the Hardys feuding with each other, and both of them getting more fleshed out personalities...because they will be able to get over even more if they actually have real characters to back up their looks and in ring skills.

I honestly think this was as Sharon called it "the Ragin' Hormones" edition of RAW. Matt and Lita make out, Raven in leather... soaking wet, shirtless Taker (I don't care if he has a gut...the man is sexy...besides...I like guts...so sue me), Steven Richards ripping open his shirt numerous times...(Yes, poor Jen almost needed to be rushed to the hospital at one point for nearly having a coronary.) We won't even talk about HHH's growling and other hot noises as well as the intense glares he kept giving to Austin. Damn, I might not like him but the man is HOT as hell!!!!!!! Chris Jericho in those tight vinyl pants, Christian just being well Christian, and of course Benoit wrestling...I swear sometimes I don't think there is anything as HOT as watching Benoit wrestle...So I went a little off the wrestling track here...sorry...I am lonely ok...so sue me...but these things had to be said...so now back to talking about the actual wrestling.

The WWF is coming up on a PPV this weekend, and I swear I think they did a great job of building up the matches on the card...esp. the Austin/HHH match. I mean damn, this rivalry is one of the most intense rivalries I can ever remember. Both HHH and Austin have played their roles to perfection, and Austin stunnering Stephanie was just the icing on the cake...and Hunter's reaction...just brilliant. I see one giant problem with how this rivalry has been built up...can these two men can deliver the kind of match (or 3 matches) that would be a satisfying end to this brilliantly built up rivalry? I mean despite what a lot of people seem to think, I personally only think the Game is as good as his opponents...as is Austin...but even so...to keep that insane intensity going through 3 matches would be a hard task even for the best wrestlers...aka...Benoit and Jericho...but who knows...maybe Austin and HHH will surprise me...either way, they are one of the main reasons I am ordering this PPV...I am dying to see what happens here...who will job to whom? I mean there has to be a winner right? I am so horrible with predictions, and honestly with this match, I have no clue who is going to come out on top...it's the match between the egos...who will lay down for whom? That is the question.

I see one other problem with this match...this rivalry has been so built up, so intense, and the match is so unique, and so gigantic, that I don't understand how any match they come up with for WM 17 will top it. I'm sorry, I don't care how much most people want to see Rock/Austin at WM (myself certainly not being any part of that list), but there is no way the backstory or the match could be as exciting as what's going on between Helmsley and Austin right now. In my opinion, this should have been the Main Event at WM...with another month of buildup...damn can you even imagine how crazy things would be? Of course this is coming from someone who would rather see just about anything besides Rock/Austin headlining WM...but what do I know? Hell I would rather see it Kurt vs. Austin...I really would...

Kurt Angle is the man, and his interview on RAW this past Monday was just amazing. I mean I had to go back and watch it after RAW went off the air, because I was still freaking out from the kiss, but when I did go back, I was just blown away. I loved how he said that all the people backstage wanted to see Rock vs. Austin for WM, but he was going to prove everyone wrong...of course we know this is not the case...although I am hoping and praying that Rock doesn't take the title from Kurt at No Way Out... I really don't see Rock doing the job here. I mean it is a foregone conclusion that he is walking out the new champ...and I am already getting ready to scream and yell at my T.V. when it happens. The only good side of this is we will hopefully get a new, angrier Kurt going after the title once again after WM when the Rock is off filming his movie and we get a welcome vacation from him. I just want to say, I would rather see just about any other Main Eventer and a couple of midcard guys be the champ instead of the Rock. I hate the Rock as the champion because I feel he does absolutely nothing for the title and the title does nothing for him. Besides the fact that what Kurt said was the truth, he is more talented and a better athlete than the Rock, but obviously that doesn't matter any...because if it did, Chris Benoit would have gotten the belt the minute he stepped into the WWF.

Sharon has informed me that it appears it will be a fatal four way for the IC belt this Sunday because apparently after using Benoit as a jobber to the stars, they found they have no room for him anywhere near the top so they are going to throw him in the ring with Jericho again...not that I'm complaining much....especially if you throw Eddy in there...that is some match...of course X-Puke reduces the talent level, but he shouldn't be able to do that much damage. I have to admit...I kept thinking that Jericho was going to join forces with Eddy during the whole match on RAW...it seemed like they kept hinting it, but then turned it around and they started beating each other. Of course this could just be my deluded fantasy of seeing Jericho join the Radicalz but it really seemed that way to me (btw...I ordered their new shirt...I should be getting it either today or tomorrow...I love it...and for those of you who are interested...their old, also awesome shirt is seriously on sale in WWFshopezone for $12.98 so go order yours today). Of course I will be happy with anyone winning this match except for X-Puke who certainly doesn't deserve to be handed a title after just returning from an injury...I mean they did it to Billy Gunn, and where the hell has he been...man if I were the WWF...Billy Gunn would be a top the list of people I would cut from my roster...he will never be what they want him to be...he just doesn't have it in him.

I read another interesting article on Wrestleline last week talking about how putting Kane and the Undertaker in the tag team title race has served to elevate the whole tag team division to main event status. I really liked this idea and I think it has serious validity. Not only that but I loved the way the WWF built up the match on RAW. Edge and Christian play their little mind games and get the Undertaker, and the Duds to fight, then they jump Kane from behind and give him the concerto...great stuff here...the best was Buh Buh talking total shit as he walked to the parking lot...heel Buh Buh rules the world!!! So do heel Edge and Christian. I am hopeful that this match will be good...Edge and Christian seem to bring out the best in the UT and Kane, as I have been impressed with there matches in the past...esp. the way Christian fearlessly goes after the Undertaker...and might I add that I don't think any WWF superstar sells the Last Ride as well as Christian. So this is a triple threat match, and I am thinking that the Dudleys are dropping the belts only because D-Von is possibly injured...but I think the slippery Blondes will be 6 time tag team champions...because like that column on Wrestleline said, it will be a lot of fun watching the monster brothers try and gain revenge on the blondes...either way I expect good stuff...

Ok, so I am going to abruptly change topics here for a second but it does fit in sort of...there are all sorts of rumblings about Paul E signing on to be a booker for the WWF...JR has spoken out as being quite supportive of the idea, and personally, I think it is a great idea. Vince and company can concentrate on the Main Event and Paul E can concentrate on the mid card guys...I think it is a win win situation. Paul E can go back to what he does the best...booking, and not have to worry about the financial side of things. He can actually figure out something to do with Tazz, and put Raven in a rivalry with Stevie, maybe over Ivory as Sharon suggested. But if he does come, the first thing I hope he does is change the rules of the triple threat match...I hate the way the WWF do these types of matches...in my opinion they should always be elimination style, always. So the match is a little longer, so what...in the end it is far more exciting...at least I think it is.

Speaking of ECW...I am ecstatic that Jerry Lynn and Tajiri are the newest members of the WWF roster. These men are two of the greatest talents out there, and I just hope that they both get to hook up with Benoit at some point down the line. Of course I am worried about how the WWF will use them, but at this point I am just glad they have steady work once again...I mean they are too good not to be on TV in my opinion. WWF.COM had a really interesting article on Jerry, and he talks about how he is worried about shortening his matches from 20 minutes to 4...and with a man like Jerry it is a damn shame that they won't give him long matches to work, because he is a master. Either way, I think he will be able to make a mark...at least I hope, but I know I will be extremely happy to see him out there...same with Tajiri...I just hope they let him keep the green mist, and the stiff kicks...because I can't imagine him without them. If Kaientai really want to be EVIL, they should introduce Tajiri as their newest member and put him against someone who will take the kicks from him...EVIL indeed...

Ok, I guess I had more to talk about than I thought...back to the PPV for a minute...ok, the Right to Nudity...the only thing I find remotely funny about this angle is it gives Bradshaw a chance to be his total degenerate self...hell not that I am knocking perverts...I'm not...in fact I find it hilarious actually. Otherwise I find it very disturbing, not because Kat is so intent on getting naked...its just stupid...I mean we know she's not going to get naked, so I mean what's the point? So now we get a King/Steven Richards match at the PPV...this makes me happy for 2 big reasons...the first being it is effectively taking the focus of the RTC off of Bull/Val and Goodfather and putting it where it belongs on Steven and Ivory...both of whom have played their parts to perfection recently. Secondly, I have a very strong feeling that Steven is actually going to go over the King which would be great at giving him even more heat, and on a more personal note, I would love to see Steven trying to break the Kat from her immoral ways...hehehehe

I believe the only other announced match is Stephanie vs. Trish...I have to say despite myself, I love this angle...Stephanie McMahon rules...she really does...when she was trying to get at Trish through the sunroof of the limo, that was just classic as hell. Steph is great at pushing storylines forward...and I am praying that her brother, Shane makes his presence known at the PPV too...he has just been too quiet recently esp. considering how his sister and father have been disrespecting his mother. By the way, I think William Regal just might be a double agent working for Shane who wants to get back at his dad...just an idea that popped into my head...Anyway, this should be a pretty fun match...more or less a cat fight, but if the last PPV is any indication, it should be fun as hell...

Two last things before I sign off...

Ok, Lillian Garcia is the worst announcer of all time...I mean, she almost announced Christian as one half of the tag team champions...what is wrong with her? Does she have some kind of defect or something...but then again, you have JR saying that Lita is in the ring with Jeff Hardy so why should we expect anything more out of Lillian than we do JR...

The other thing I wanted to talk about was the Wrestlemania magazine...the whole last part of the book is pictures of WWF superstars...very good pictures I might add, except for the one of Trish where she just looks like an idiot...anyway, Big Show is placed all the way in the back, opposite K-Kwick, which I found very interesting...seems he's still on someone's shit list...and being placed in the Hardcore division...yeah, definitely on someone's shit list...

Ok, I lied, one more thing...I think Raven has been doing a great job lately. I love his new sort of goofy, pouty child character...he is so damn cute...and I still like his interaction with Molly and Crash a lot...I thought that having Molly and Crash jump into Raven's car was really great and original...and then you have the Big Show come along and slam shut the trunk for no reason...good thinking there...so congrats to Raven...hopefully, his great effort will do wonders for helping him get over...

As for the roster cuts that JR was talking about...we'll see, but I have a list of people who I would get rid of right now...and I bet some of you could guess at least a few...oh yeah, once again I am foraying into the dangerous world of Indy wrestling when I go see my 3rd SCW show...can't wait...Indy wrestling RULZ...Well enjoy the PPV...until next time dear readers....
