REBECCA'S RANT

Hey all! I want to apologize again for not writing a column last week. I was actually very busy at work....real life once again getting in the way of what's important. But I had a great wrestling filled weekend, followed up by an excellent Monday night showing from the WWF so not much to complain about here...

Onto the Rants...

On Friday the WWF had a house show in Raleigh, NC which I was lucky enough to have won front row tickets too. Not only did I have front row but I had front row center of the ring. It was absolutely amazing. So as usual we got there early and hung out by the gate...don't ask me why it was cold as hell out...but the thought of possibly seeing Jeff drive in on his motorcycle kept us out there braving the freezing temperatures. After longer than I care to admit, we look over and we see Gilbert Hardy...famed father of the Hardy boyz. We go over and talk to him and unbelievably he remembers us from when we met him in Fayetteville. He doesn't have a pass so they won't let him backstage as neither of his sons are there, so he was forced to brave the cold with us...we were outraged for him, but he seemed to take everything with a grain of salt. We talked to him for a while about how crazy his boyz are and asked him to tell them that they need to slow down or they would hurt themselves. Needless to say he was adorable and flirting with us as well. It was hilarious...he was a total sweetie...Luckily Edge came along and got him inside as the Hardys came late as hell and he would have been out there for a long time waiting for them. Finally unable to feel out feet we decided to go in and find our seats...needless to say we were ecstatic as hell when we made our way to ring side. The only bad thing about sitting ring side is you never want to sit anywhere else again. The view is just too good up there. Especially if the card you are seeing is as solid as the one we saw.

I made a sign that said I kicked BC's ass for these tickets. BC is the DJ and giant wrestling fan who I won the tickets from. As he came out to warm up the crowd he grabbed my sign and took it into the ring...it was cool as hell! The fink shills some merchandise and then comes and sits down directly in front of us. I must say I had the urge all night to rub his head...it was just so tempting sitting there in front of us. First up was Raven vs. Blackman is an ok hardcore match. Ok the truth be told I was knocked a little speechless being that close to Raven...what can I say I think the man is hot as hell. As he was climbing up the stairs, I did the Raven crucifixion sign and he looked right at me...it was cool. The match was ok, and then the stupid mystery lady came out and saved the day for Raven. The woman wearing the mask at both house shows was definitely Tori...we saw her drive in and I could see her eyes and it was her...much to my complete chagrin. I am still hoping that they change this, as him and Tori have exactly zero chemistry. She just doesn't have any chemistry with anyone...so the good thing is she hasn't been unmasked yet, so they can still change who it is...the other good thing is that although they are "together" Raven said on RAW that she was not his woman, and that he doesn't have a woman yet...can I volunteer...just kidding...but I'm telling you the way he was looking at Molly Holly...damn I needed a cold shower...sorry...the hormones are slightly out of control today...what else it new...

I will not bore everyone with a match by match recount of the house show I will simply give the highlights and lowlights of the night...

Highlight of the night...Benoit vs. Angle....I absolutely love when these two match up in the ring, and this was no exception. Strangely, Benoit got a giant face pop the whole match and indeed played to the crowd as a face. We spoke to my buddy John the night before and he was telling us that he thinks that Benoit could turn face in a minute...I really hope this doesn't happen as he is just such a great heel, but still it was cool as hell to see him getting this kind of reaction. At one point, Angle had him in some kind of headlock on the ground and he was kicking his foot on the mat, trying to get the crowd reaction and man did he...the crowd started going nuts, totally getting behind him, it was awesome. We got to see all the great moves in this one...the trifecta suplex, the flying headbutt, the crossface, the Olympic slam, the missed moonsault, and Kurt's awesome running up the turnbuckle suplex, and I have to say I was ecstatic that the crowd popped loud as hell for all the great moves....so I knew that there was not going to be a title change, but Benoit still made us believe that he might pull it off...in fact at one point when he had Angle in the Crossface, Trish distracted the ref with her ample bosom and Angle tappped out...but of course the ref didn't see it. Benoit is screwed once again...Still these two guys were very evenly matched in the ring and put on the match of the night...I mean it was excellent, and then after Benoit gets pinned and Angle makes his way up the ramp, Benoit pauses on the apron and gets a really nice ovation. It was great to see...and I swear it was amazing as hell being that close to Benoit...when he made his way up the stairs we did the whole Wayne's world "We're not worthy" thing, because hell we're not worthy. I swear watching Benoit work that close made me appreciate even more just how truly amazing the man is. Benoit truly is a wrestling god...and man we really wanted to meet him and tell him, but alas we didn't get too...but maybe next time.

Ok, one more word on Benoit...I have had this idea running around in my head for a while so I just wanted to write it out. I think that Jericho and Benoit should team up. I think that this would just be good for so many reasons. We have seen them go at it so many times...not that I'm complaining mind you...hell its like my favorite rivalry of all time, but imagine these two together. Imagine what a dominant force they could be, taking on the tag team division...matches against the Hardys, Edge and Christian and the Dudleys....DROOL... then we can have them working together, but still have the whole competitive thing going too. I just think it would put some new blood into the tag team division and make for some great matches. Plus I just think their dual promos could be hilarious. Also it's not like either of these guys is going to be back in the Main Event right away although they both belong there, esp. Benoit...so why not let them join up and kick some ass together, then split them up somewhere down the line and have the feud for the World Title belt. Just an idea going around in my head...but the cool thing is that Laura (the editor of WWF magazine) sort of mentioned something like that in this month's magazine as well...I nearly had a heart attack when I read it too...so that's cool as hell...maybe it will happen.

Second best match of the night was the Dudleys vs. Edge and Christian. Edge and Christian were working the heel schtick to the max...and it was awesome to see. Every time the Duds wanted to start the match, Edge would jump out of the ring to consult with Christian...it was classic. Also Christian was just funny as hell, he was talking shit the entire time to the crowd, as well as making funny faces...it was hilarious. This match was really solid and included the infamous missed spot spots that Edge and Christian do so damn well since they have been working together since they are nine years old. Seeing Christian live also reminds me about how solid he is...as if I need to love him anymore, but really, he is a great performer with impeccable timing and a great set of moves...No 3-D or Whassup spot because poor D-Von is injured, but it was still a solid as hell match.

William Regal came out and was absolutely hilarious, but not as funny as he was the next night in Greensboro. In Greensboro there was this fat redneck guy who was just starting shit with him, and he just leveled the guy...the crowd started yelling asshole and he turned to the guy and he said, "its not very nice to call that fat guy that name." Let me just say that he was in top heel form in Greensboro and it made my night as the Greensboro house show wasn't very good, except of course for the amazing as hell Edge/Christian vs. Hardys match which was of course golden. Glad that Regal is sticking around despite his injury. I swear the man is masterful at working a crowd.

Steven Richards and RTC also worked the crowd into a booing frenzy...well except of course for us, who were cheering for them and holding our hands up in the RTC way. We just love those heels, and of course Jen loves her Steven Richards. I was screaming, Ivory Rules and Steven looked over at me and broke out in a smile...I am almost positive he remembered me from the last time in Charlotte, but then quickly went back into character, but it was cool as hell. Goodfather did this thing like he was turning back into the Godfather and got a HUGE reaction from the crowd and of course RTC had to try to brainwash him again, with Stevie's whole "look into my eyes" thing which we love so much. I even got a really good picture of him doing that which was cool as hell. In his commentary in this month's WWF magazine, he talks about his past with Raven...how I hope and pray they start a rivalry between these two...whoo hoo...as Jen once wrote "acknowledging the past SO rules!"

The Main event was a giant clusterfuck...it was Kane/Undertaker and the Rock vs. HHH/Haku and Rikishi. I must say thought that Undertaker was in the best mood I have ever seen him in, he was smiling and making jokes with someone in the crowd who he apparently knew...it was cool as hell to see...and I must admit that HHH is one fine specimen of a man live...his body is absolutely staggering...that's all I'll say before my hormones start raging out of control again.

Lowlights were few and basically were limited to X-Puke's return...or what I call bathroom break and the atrocious Billy Gunn/Big Show match. I read on the Ross report that there were rumors going around that Billy Gunn and Show were released and man how I wish those were true. These guys just suck...and what the hell is Show doing interfering in the Main Event on RAW. Like I said before "Which of these guys doesn't belong?"

Ok, the next night in Greensboro was actually a little disappointing. We were hoping to meet Benoit, I even wore my Radicalz shirt in hopes of meeting our idol, but to no avail. We get to the arena and find out we are sitting in the corner, but the seats were free so I am not complaining (Thanks John) but he crowd was just dead. Even Benoit/Angle which was really good (not as good as Raleigh though) got no reaction at all. The best match of the night like I said was the Hardys vs. Christian and Edge. It was very solid, and very fast paced and exciting. The crowd was way into it as were we...definite highlight of the night.

But the real highlight came after the show. We went back to the hotel and waited for wrestlers. In walks D-Von And Buh Buh. Now when we met Buh Buh in Philly he was very stand offish and very intimidating. Basically he was the same in Greensboro, but as he walked past me I said "good match." He turned to me and looked at me like I was crazy and said "who are you kidding...it sucked," in his heavy New Yawk accent. Basically this lead to him talking to us for 30 minutes about wrestling...it was such a huge honor to talk to him like that. But the best part was he did it in full heel mode. The thing that I have been saying forever and you can go back and read my past columns if you don't believe me but I have been praying for Buh Buh to turn heel...well for the Duds to turn heel. I mean Buh Buh just rules as a heel. Anyway, the whole time he talked to us he did it as a heel, and let me tell you he was scary as hell. I tried to explain this to my mom, I was like and we met Buh Buh and he was really mean to us and it was so great...and she just looks at me like I need to be carted away....but Sharon understood what I was trying to say when I called her and told her what happened. But the best was that he was talking to us like we were intelligent people and not like we were groupie bimbos and it was so amazing. I couldn't recount everything he said, but he talked about the TLC match, the WM triangle ladder match...Ric Flair, Terry Funk, Hunter and how awesome he is...he asked us what that best tag team end move was and of course I said 3- D which as you know if you read my column is my favorite end move of all time...he said he would put it in the top 2...with the Doomsday device for overness. I was freaking out and I told him how much I wish he was a heel, and how it is so great to have heel Buh Buh talking to us. I think he got a huge kick out of us...and once I got past the fact that he was acting mean for fun, I relaxed and was able to talk to him. It was a total mark out moment for me...I must say....So that was the end to a great couple of days. I swear I could have talked wrestling with him for another couple of hours, but I had to get home...it was late and I was tired...

So as usual, I am running long as hell...so I will end with a few random thoughts:

Anytime Raw starts off with Matt Hardy vs. Jericho in singles competition I know we are in for a good show...great match between these two "young stallions."

EDDY IS BACK!!!!! I was so damn happy to see Eddy back...Welcome back!! He looked more buff than before and I love the new hair color. Can't wait to see this feud with Jericho and the Hardys go to the next level....

Molly Holly just rules...and I'll tell you I loved her little interview on RAW...it was so Holly...and her exchange with Raven ruled...now those two have chemistry...

Man, did Kat kiss the hell out of Steven or what...I know we were freakin out...but I'll tell you its just a little weird to see the King get so excited about his wife kissing another man...it was funny as hell when he tore off his shirt though to support the Right to Nudity.

I loved seeing Regal hiding behind the curtain while Steph complained to her make up lady...very cool...and man was he smooth covering for Vince or what...

I must say I also loved the Main Event...with Hunter and Austin teaming up...I love the way these two work off each other...it is totally intense...but what the hell is the Big Show doing there...YUCKY!!

So I heard that Jerry Lynn is with the WWF now...WHOO HOO!!!! I couldn't be happier...now I get to see Jerry too...all I have to say is Jerry Lynn vs. Chris Benoit...aka...Rebecca's dream match.....Congrats to Jerry...I can't wait to see your debut.

Going to check out more Indy wrestling this weekend, when I go see PCW on Saturday. Should be fun as hell. I love those Indy shows...they are always a blast....so until next time dear readers...this crazy girl is signing off...
