REBECCA'S RANT

Hey All! I took last week off in honor of Thanksgiving...got really drunk and attempted to watch Smackdown...didn't really work that way. Luckily I taped it and watched it the next day. I must say though I haven't really been very inspired by the WWF lately. I am sort of hating the direction they are going with most of their angles, and the whole thing is getting a little tedious. Now I have the patience of a saint, well only when it comes to the WWF, but my patience is starting to wear thin. They have the opportunity now to go in some new fresh directions, but it seems that instead they are standing still...especially in the midcard. I mean seriously is there one storyline in the midcard right now...take a minute to think, and then it hits you, there isn't one. The closest thing they had was the RTC stalking Jeff Hardy, which seems to have gone away as quickly as it appeared....and we won't even get into the Main Event situation which is now totally Austin-centric...although I have to give credit where credit is due, Austin has impressed me his last couple of outings, but then again he has been going up against Kurt and Benoit who can make everyone look good...especially Benoit...

So before I get to the Rants, I just want to say I am excited to be going to my first Indy wrestling show on Thursday. I will be going to see the SCW - Southern Championship Wrestling. I heard they are pretty good, and it's a really fun time, so I am very excited. Also, on Friday, Omega is having a reunion of sorts...without the Hardys unfortunately (yeah I don't understand how they can have an Omega reunion without the Hardys?) The card looks pretty impressive though and I am super excited about that as well...so I will write a few words on my experiences in my column next week. Should be fun!!!

Onto the Rants...

Ok, so there is one thing that is first and foremost on my mind, and that is Jeff Hardy. Since even before Survivor Series it has been pretty obvious to me that he hasn't been wrestling at 100%. I would even go as far as to say he is wrestling at about 80%. I was very concerned about him at Survivor Series, and even more so when I realized he was going to wrestle not one but two matches that night. I have no idea what he was thinking but it was very obvious that he was barely even up for the first match, and by the end of his second match, it looked like he needed to take some serious time off. I mean the boy couldn't even stand up...and I don't' think it was because he was selling an injury angle. So the next night, I am ecstatic to see that they are not on RAW...Believe me I love the Hardys, they are my favorite tag team in the WWF, but I also want to see them around for years to come...I don't want Jeff Hardy crippling himself before his 24th birthday. So they weren't on RAW...but did they get the night off...no they were instead on Jakked...the same thing the next night...they weren't on Smackdown, they were on Heat. What the hell is up with this shit. Jeff shouldn't be out there at all, and they have him working the two bottom rated shows...there is something wrong with this picture. And I am also pissed at Jeff...so you think he took it easy in these matches, no he still did his same crazy high spots grabbing at his ribs in agony as he landed. This is no longer fun for me to watch....and I don't understand how it could be fun for any fan of the Hardys to watch Jeff destroy himself on a nightly basis. Give the guy some time off...give him a month off at least so he can come back healthy.

So of course I have a storyline idea that would, I think, work great. It gives Jeff at least a month off and it elevates Matt Hardy by giving him an actual character. It goes back to the RTC stalking Jeff. They jump him backstage in the locker room area leaving him bloodied and battered. This way Jeff does not have to come out to do yet another match and hurt himself some more. Matt walks in and finds him broken and absolutely flips, I mean goes psycho. He pushes Lita away and vows revenge on everyone who has ever crossed him and his brother. So he starts stalking RTC...he comes out and hits them with chairs, twists of fate, and then slinks back to the back...Lita is worried about him but he has pushed her away, but she continues to shadow him, keeping an eye on him. At the same time, the RTC have picked a new guy to pick on RAVEN...they bring in the past relationship between Steven and Raven and make it that Steven wants to finally gain control over Raven. Meanwhile, Raven has been keeping an eye on Matt, his pain and sadness mirror Raven's own, and he is drawn to the younger man. He starts watching him from the crowd during matches, or when Matt is brooding somewhere in the back, Raven can be seen lurking in the corner, just watching and biding his time. So the time comes when Matt is corned by the RTC and he can't make his escape. He is about to be clobbered by them, but who comes in to fight at his side, Raven, and together they lay waste to the RTC. They become a team, much to Lita's chagrin because she doesn't like the dark influence that Raven is having on Matt. She sticks close to them though, constantly getting into arguments with Raven. So Matt and Raven can team together or just have singles competition...which I think that Matt Hardy is more than capable of...he has been looking superb out there lately, but with no character development there is only so far he can go...I say build him up as the protective older brother, which he is in real life anyway, and just turn it up a couple of notches. When Jeff comes back he can be horrified by the transformation of Matt and then it can be a battle between Raven and Jeff for Matt. Throw Lita in there, who in my mind should turn on the Hardys and go with Raven and you have one hell of a cool old style ECW type psychological angle with all kinds of possibilities. It elevates, Raven and Matt Hardy both...which of course makes me happy, and gives Jeff some time off without being forgotten. After all, Matt will be unleashing destruction in the name of his fallen brother. Ok, so what do you think? I don't think the WWF could pull something like this off, or if they would even want too...after all it doesn't involve Austin or HHH so what does it matter anyway...grrr...anyway, just an idea that has been buzzing around in my head. I know way to much time on my hand.

Well, I really don't have that much time today actually. I have been busy with real work at my real job unfortunately so I am going to have to keep this column really short. I am just going to run down a quick list of things that I am loving, and things that are really annoying me...so here goes...

The annoying list is much longer, so I will put it first...

I am annoyed that...

Kurt Angle, although the current WWF champion is everyone's whipping boy. He is putting on a great match with Austin on RAW and HHH has to come in interfere and take away all his Heat...this is bullshit people...

Billy Gunn took away the IC championship from the more deserving and far more talented Eddy Guerrero. I have actually heard that Eddy is being punished for not having enough Heat...but like Mr. Tito said and I realized the same thing...the crowd wasn't chanting for Billy they were chanting against Eddy. There were a ton of Eddy sucks chants...which proves that he still is over...Also...I know I wasn't the only one who noticed that at Survivor Series, Billy Gunn totally ran out of gas in the middle of his match...so lets reward him by giving him a title...whatever...it is just ridiculous that this guy has the title. He has no charisma, and no talent...and he isn't even back in ring shape...I mean Eddy is not even winded, and Billy can't even get off the mat...god this is pissing me off. My question to you who the hell is Billy Gunn doing backstage to get this push...

K-Kwich is stuck with the Road Dogg and this horrific Rapping gimmick which totally sucks.

The Radicalz can't win a match...but at least they are starting to do serious beat downs after the matches...but why are they going after the Hardys. I gotta agree with my friend Tom there...if they want to be taken seriously they need to do beat downs on some of the bigger upper card guys in the WWF....like Austin...

Tiger Ali Signh gets a match but Low Down doesn't...

Debra parades around with Mick Foley like she is actually any use at all out there....

The Dudleys, Raven and Tazz are relegated to Jakked duty and I have to watch Too freakin Cool vs. the wonderful tag team champions Bull and Goodfather...please....give these guys some storylines and bring them back to the two top shows...

HHH seemed to be in no condition to be out there but still had to do a run in....if this guy is as injured as he looks than he needs to stay off of TV...but now I hear that they are going to put him, Austin, Undertaker, Angle and some others in a Hell in a Cell....Does HHH want to end up the same way HBK ended up...Why isn't HBK calling him up and yelling at his ass for being so stupid....

Kurt Angle wrote off the 6 month incredibly excellent love triangle storyline with one stupid sentence in his opening monologue on RAW...what the hell is up with that...there has got to be more to this than meets the eye...Please. I don't understand why on earth they would just write this story line off, esp. for the HHH/Austin one which in my mind isn't nearly as good...

We had to watch the Undertaker vs. Kane for the 8 millionth time and the Dudleys, Raven and Tazz were relegated to Jakked duty...this match was boring...and I love both of these guys...the only good thing about this match was the fearless way Christian and Edge beat him down post match...this was great. It was great to see that fire back in the blondes...and after the Undertaker beat them down it actually made sense too...

Ok, enough negativity...

I love....

Christian and Edge...they are just awesome...I love them with Kurt Angle and I just love them period. By the way Happy Birthday Christian!!!

Molly Holly...the woman just kicks total ass... her match against Trish on Smackdown was great and that end move...WOW

Chris Benoit...the man can carry anyone to a great match...he is truly a wrestling God...and I am happy that he is emerging as the truly bad ass leader of the Radicalz and a force not to be reckoned with. I have to say as sick as it was, I loved the way he just wrote off Lita after smashing the door on her...hehehehehehe...

Ok, I wouldn't say I love him, but I am impressed with Austin's performance in the ring...he has been showing me stuff out there, that I have never seen before...from him anyway...

Ok, that's unfortunately all I can think of that I have been enjoying lately on wrestling...I usually love to see the Hardys but it is just not fun for me anymore to see Jeff in that condition...let me repeat...Give the boy the time off he needs and deserves...

Next week, I also want to briefly touch on the tapes I have been watching which show the ECW/WWF crossover angle...some good stuff, and Tazz;s character was so damn awesome...why are they having a hard time getting this guy a character in the WWF?

Until next time...
