REBECCA'S RANTS

Hey All! First things first...I want to thank CRZ for placating Sharon and myself by posting our Raging Hormones column, then for putting up those two delicious pictures of mine and Sharon's #1 sexiest men....that was very sweet and the picture of Christian was greatly appreciated by me...THANKS!!!

I also want to thank all the guys who emailed me to praise me on the column. I have to say this was a bit of a shock...I half expected a bunch of "I don't want to read this shit" type responses, but that is not what I got at all...So thanks to all you guys for reading our column, we had a blast writing it. Of course thanks to all the women too, glad you enjoyed our female perspective on things. I have gotten several requests for a top #10 women list...but alas there are not 10 women in the WWF that I find beautiful....but my list would include Chyna and Lita at the top, followed by Stephanie McMahon then Ivory and Trish Stratus pulling up last place. Don't get me wrong I think Trish is cute, but her breasts are just pushed up way to high... So that is my list of the women who I consider hottest in the WWF.

Ok, to change gears for a second here...I wanted to take this time to plug "Pure Dynamite" the autobiography of Dynamite Kid. I realize that most people were talking about this book a couple of months ago, but I ordered it a couple of months ago from his website, and I just got it this weekend. Yes it took about 4 months for me to get it...and I read it in 2 days. I probably would have read it in one if I didn't go out and actually do something on Friday night. I cannot say enough great things about the book...it is so fascinating, and the Dynamite Kid himself is a very interesting personality...to hear about his rise to the top and then his crash and burn makes for some very interesting reading. If you are a wrestling fan, you will not be able to put this book down. . So, if you can get your hands on this book, I suggest you do...but try to find somewhere else to get it from, so you don't have to wait 4 months....Now I have a request...all through the book, he talks about his great run in Japan...I was wondering if anyone of my fine readers has any of these matches on tape...or any tapes of Benoit's run in Japan as well, who would be willing to tape them for me. I will of course be willing to send the blank tape and money for return postage. Please email me to let me know...I would greatly appreciate it

Ok, onto the Rants:

I want to first start off with the ECW for a change...I say I am a strong supporter of ECW but yet I rarely talk about them in my column, so this week I will start off talking about the extremely strong show they put on TNN this week. What to say....the first match was a replay of the Ball Mahoney/Masato Tanaka match up from Hardcore Heaven. I was ecstatic to see this match in its entirety because I missed most of it when I went to my friend's house. What a freakin contest...these two were absolutely merciless to each other, and they gave it their all. I have heard rumors that Masato is hoping to sign with ECW full time in the near future, and I think this would be a great move for him and esp. for the ECW, who are in serious need of people to fill out their depleted roster. And I believe that Masato can be plugged into the Main Event very easily. He is a former ECW world Heavyweight Champion after all. If he can beat Mike Awesome he for sure could beat Justin, but even if he doesn't, at least he is another strong contender for the belt in the World Title picture...

Open Note to Paul Heyman: Sign this guy yesterday!!!!

Next up we have a match between my two favorite individuals in the ECW Jerry "I'm #7 on Rebecca's sexiest wrestlers list" Lynn vs. Yoshihiro "I deliver the stiffest kicks on the planet" Tajiri. This is literally a dream match up for me, as I believe that Jerry and Tajiri are two of the best workers in the business today. As I suspected, they didn't disappoint in this match either, as it was an excellent contest. The Network was at ringside the whole time, pushing their newest member, Scotty Anton...I don't know about this guy, he seems like a total loser to me...but what do I know...I just hope his feud with RVD is short and merciless, with RVD stepping over his unconscious carcass on his way to Heavyweight title gold. I kind of like this "is he" or "isn't he" with the Network stuff they are playing with Lynn, and it esp. makes logical sense to me because if I were Cyrus, I would be looking to recruit Jerry Lynn for my team as well. He is the new fuckin' show after all. I just hope that this leads to an eventual feud with Rhino at which time, Jerry Lynn beats his ass to become the new and rightful Television champion. Hell the TV champ should be someone who you actually want to see on TV...and to me that would be Jerry Lynn.

Speaking of title changes...we now move over to the WWF where boo hoo my favorite cocky boy Christian and his cohort Edge lost their beloved Tag Team titles to Stupid 2 Cool. Ok, so let me tell you what I think about 2 cool. I hate their gimmick. I used to like the dancing, but it got old about 2 months ago. I think they are very talented wrestlers, but I do not think they should be the tag team champs. I know they are probably (excluding the Dudleys) the most over tag team out there right now, but in my humble opinion, the most over team shouldn't necessarily be wearing the belt. Lets look at the Heavyweight title division for a perfect example. The Rock is so goddamn over it isn't funny. He doesn't need to be the Champion, in fact in many ways it's a waste to have him be the Champion. The Rock is at his best when he's chasing the belt not wearing it. In the Tag Team division it's a little different. 2 Cool are ridiculously over...mostly because of the stupid worm and Rikishi, this does not mean they are good Tag Team Champions. They don't need the belts to get over, they don't need the belts to stay over, they don't even look right wearing the belts...So having them winning the belts is like a waste. Ok, I will be the first to admit that this could all be coming from the fact that my favorite wrestler has lost his belt, but I don't think so. I would have been perfectly happy if Edge and Christian lost the belts to the Hardys or the Dudleys, because esp. for the Hardys, having the belts would do a lot to get them more over...Plus, Edge and Christian's gimmick is really starting to take off, and a integral part of that gimmick is being the WWF tag team champions. So before I complain and complain, I am going to wait and see if the WWF fix this terrible error and put the belts back where they belong....the thing is, its sort of hard to complain, because even though they lost the belts, they had the most air time I have ever seen them get on RAW...I mean they had 4 separate vignettes, all of which were damn hilarious....esp. the one with Kurt Angle...its true, its true...after all who wouldn't like to take the time to pose with midgets...plus mike time before their match, and then a match. Also they didn't lose cleanly. In fact, Christian had to get wacked with both a hockey stick to the balls, and a belt to the head...that hockey stick shot looked vicious, and my friend and I are convinced that Christian was smart enough to wear a cup...What were my eyes doing down there, oh never mind....

WILL WONDERS NEVER CEASE....the WWF has finally acknowledged that perhaps Test isn't so happy about being under the command of the woman who left him standing at the altar, Stephanie McMahon Helmsley...I loved how they had him mimicking her behind her back when she was telling them they better get the job done against Y2J and the Hardys...and even better, when she left the room and he called her bitch...also Val's facial reaction to Test's little outburst was really funny as well...good stuff...

So we have T & A with Val vs. the Hardys and Y2J....really not much to complain about in the pairing of Jericho and the Hardys...I thought this match was very exciting with the highlight being Matt's KICK ASS tornado DDT on Albert...Matt was a house on fire...to bad Ms. Trish had to get involved and once again cost the Hardys the match. I think that Trish will soon be getting a visit from Lita, who I believe will be along side the Hardys soon enough...and I think she will be good for them...First of all, unlike every other woman in the WWF with the exception of Chyna, she is not accompanied to ringside with a "we want puppies" chant. The WWF male fans seem to appreciate her on a different level than they do say Trish or Terri or the Kat. So that is a good thing, because nothing pisses me off more than to be in the middle of a great wrestling match, and have the crowd break out into a "puppies" chant...hmmm didn't I see that on RAW too...

Ok, so Sharon sent me some notes from Byte This about the WWF repackaging Dean Malenko. They are going to turn him face and let more of his real personality, with his dry wit shine through starting with Sunday Night Heat. I was really excited. I thought, wow, maybe the WWF will be able to get the fans that chant for the worm to actually start popping for the wrestling master, Dean Malenko....little did I know that their plans involved the stupid talentless godfather or I wouldn't have been excited or optimistic at all....All the Godfather does is drag down excellent wrestlers to his shitty level...This is not what Dean needs. I mean can't they do better than this for him...please. That being said, I have to admit, despite the "Puppy" chants, and despite the Godfather, the Kat and Terri being involved, I actually enjoyed this match up quite a lot. I guess if you have 3 great workers in the ring, it overshadows, 2 non-wrestling women, and a talentless piece of shit like the Godfather. D'Lo and Perry...I like it. Perry was looking quite sharp out there, as was D'Lo. Dean always looks sharp, and somehow they were able to make this gimmick match into something decent. Throw in the fact that the Kat actually performed a Bulldog, and hell it was pretty entertaining. I think if the WWF want to put Dean with a woman, the Kat might be a good choice for him...who knows though...I swear I wish we lived in a world where Dean could get over because he was Dean and not because he is with the stupid Godfather or some other form of T&A.

Ok, I don't want to sound like every other Internet person, but Benoit is just the MAN. I remember when he was in the WCW, I used to hear all of these people just go on and on about this guy, and I was like enough already. Then I finally saw him, and I have to say, this guy is as good if not better than most people even make him out to be. I really think, that if he's on his game, which is 99.9% of the time, that Benoit could get a good match out of anyone. Not only that but if he is wrestling someone who isn't afraid to work stiff as hell...ex. Jericho, or in this week's case Bob Holly, then you are in for something special. Benoit vs. Holly was just brutal. It was stiff as hell, and an amazing contest. Hell did you see Bob Holly's chest...it was bright red from those chops...OUCH...I have to say, I could have watched these two go at it for the better part of a half hour, but alas we have to get the crappy run in to end the match...boo hiss... I am starting to hate the run ins during the IC title matches...they suck...At least it seems like the Benoit/Jericho feud is still alive and well, which could only mean good things down the road from these two.... I still kind of like the idea of putting them together, but what do I know... In the mean time, how about letting one of these IC title matches go the distance and have a clean finish, that's what I want to see.

Side Note: I have to say, I loved Benoit's promo last night, it was delivered very well, and although it played up strongly on cheap face heat, I thought it worked very nicely...good stuff all around.

Other match highlights:

Eddy vs. Kurt Angle: the longer they are together, the better Chyna and Eddy get together. I read a recap of Eddy on the LAW, and he was talking about how much he loves working with Chyna and what a total sweetheart she is...he said he hopes they keep them together for a long long time, and I for one hope so too. I have never seen Chyna smile so much or look so beautiful and I love it. What can you say about Kurt Angle...the man is the total package. His promos rule the world, and his in ring work is magnificent. This match was great, with a great ending, Chyna hitting the vicious looking low blow and then the totally sweet 'rana by Eddy. Man, Eddy had a few moves of his own in the ring, doesn't he...

Ok, I know a lot of people will probably disagree, but I thought that Shane vs. Rikishi match was hilarious as hell. When Shane was dancing around the ring, I was in stitches...was it a great wrestling match...no, but it was fun for what it was.

Other highlights...

Road Dogg going into the dark door and being pummeled....and I Know Marvelous Martin had a big smile on his face from this one....

And of course the best part of the whole night for me was the return of Kane...I have to say I knew it was Kane who was beating everyone up all night, but it didn't make me mark out any less when he came out and kicked everyone in the McMahon-Helmsley Regime's ass...

I have to admit, I was hoping for a biker Kane...I know that sounds stupid to some, but I was just picturing, Kane in all Black, wearing the mask, riding in on bike, now that would have been cool as hell, at least in my book. But I have to say, it was very encouraging to see him standing over HHH"s prone body, holding up the belt. Is it possible that Kane is actually in the Heavyweight title race? Its about damn time...A Big Red Champion...I can definitely deal with that....
