REBECCA'S RANTS

Hey All! Welcome to the holiday edition of Rebecca's Rants. First off I want to wish all my loyal readers out there a very Happy Holidays. Personally, I usually hate the holiday season, but with all of the Christmas spirit evident on RAW this week, it's hard not to get excited about the holidays. Well, it appears as if there is indeed a new era dawning in the WWF, the McMahon - Helmsley Era is upon us. I gotta admit, I kinda like the new love birds in charge, don't really like the way things turn out, but the matches "they book" are really killer.

Lets take a look:

Well, since Judas and the Jezebel (as JR so lovingly refers to them) took over, I have seen my boy Christian on every RAW and every Smackdown. Not only Christian, but Edge, and the awesome Hardy's as well, and what's even better is that they have found new and innovative ways for all 4 of these guys to fight each other. First we get a Cage match, then we get brother vs. brother on Smackdown (I must admit, I loved this!), then finally we get the mixed tag team of Matt Hardy and Edge vs. Christian and Jeff. If you want to keep Rebecca happy, this is certainly a good place to start...finding a way for these guys to be on TV every week, fighting each other, but still keeping it new and exciting. Props to Matt for getting his ass kicked last night too. The thing about all four of these guys is that they will do anything to entertain the fans, and quite honestly for the most part the fans don't deserve it. They would rather cheer that outlaws, who do the same old thing, than these exciting, high flying, innovative guys. It really pisses me off. But onto bigger and better things!

Kane gets a title shot! Will wonders never freakin cease. My Big Red Machine, is given a title shot on RAW. Of course it had to be cheapened with the whole, if Kane loses, Tori - Pac has to go spend the holiday's with Xpuke stipulation, but I was in such a good mood from the fact that this match was going to be the main event for RAW, I tried to forget about the little stipulation, and enjoy the match at hand. That's right, I said, Main EVENT. I saw Kane's pyro's throughout the night, and I was like when is he coming on already. What horrible humiliation will they inflict on him tonite? Maybe they will put Tori in a vat of honey, and have Kane wade in to go and save her...hmm, Kane dripping in honey....hey, that's not a half bad idea.....Ok, I'm back...but no we have a bona fide title shot, and man if Kane didn't pull it all out. I have been on the Kane bandwagon for a long time now, but damn if this match didn't kick ass. I have never seen Kane look so good. The other matches between these two men have not lived up to expectation, but this match, exceeded expectation and flat out kicked ass. Kane was on fire, he jumped off the top rope onto the floor, he took Big Show into the audience. He did a standing drop kick, kicking the steel stairs into the Big Show's face, he did a swinging kick, and last but not least he hoisted the 500 pound Big Show onto his shoulder to set him up for a tombstone on the concrete. Ok, I know Kane was struggling, and I know he didn't make it to the tombstone part, but damn, if that wasn't an impressive sight. Now Viscera picking Big Show up is one thing. Big Vis weighs about the same as the Big Show, But Kane doesn't and to see him pick up a man who has about 100 pounds on him about blew me away. And then to top it all off, the guy bumps like hell, with an ECW style Powerbomb right through the table. Damn, Kane is my hero. I knew from the very beginning that there was no way in hell he was going to win, so I was just hoping for a good match...and man I was certainly not disappointed. Now a Big Show vs. Kane rematch at the Royal Rumble for the title, is something I would pay big bucks for, esp. if Kane has a serious chance of winning. Give Kane the title...please....can I beg, can I plead. It is a travesty that this awesome guy has only held the title once and it was for 24 hours. He is better than that, and he deserves better, but then again, I am a huge Kane mark, so what do I know. Ok, if the WWF officials don't book a Big Show/Kane title match at the Rumble, then how about a Kane/Xpuke Hell in a Cell Match, with promises that X-puke will leave looking like Shawn Michaels from the first historic Hell in a Cell...well a girl can dream right...

So in my estimation, these two matches would have been enough to keep me happy, but throw in a Dudleyz vs. Acolytes match...oh yeah add the two old bats (as D-Von lovingly called Mae and Moolah), and not only do we have a prelude to the epic wars between these two teams, but we get the comic relief for the evening as well. My first question...Are the Acolytes really as over as they appear to be...I am seriously shocked. On Smackdown the Florida State crowd cheered their local hero Farooq like he was the Rock or something, but the applause and shouts keep coming, even all the way in Texas. Who would have thought that these two guys would get more face heat than either Christian and Edge or the Hardys? I said it once and I will say it again, Mae Young is a crazy old broad...she will do anything, even take the head butt to the crotch from a "I've never seen him so reluctant to do a move ever" Devon Dudley. Needless to say, the Dudleyz were in super heel form as they mercilessly beat the two old ladies...until they finally got the pin. Mark Henry comes out to make sure his sweetie pie Mae is ok, and the priceless moment of the night goes to the Acolytes for the look of sheer revulsion and perplexity they wore on their faces as Mark Henry cradled Mae in his big manly arms...hey guys, what the hell are you looking at, I've seen two of the women you've chosen to have sex with and believe me they weren't much better than that....

What would a Christmas Raw be without Mick Foley. Hell, we've all read the book, we all know how much this time of the year means to Mrs. Foley's baby boy. And of course the Helmsely's being the giving and generous people they are gave Mick a Boiler room brawl, against none other than Santa Clause. Mick Foley was in stellar form last night by the way, but when isn't he right? Gallantly coming to JR rescue right before HHH could do his damage...begging for a match against HHH, well he got one, but not like he expected. So Mick is about to decline the match, and the posse come beat him up and throw him into the Boiler room. Which leads to the line of the night: "Did I just get my ass kicked by the Mean Street Posse?". All I have to say, is Foley is God, and it took 6 Santa Clauses to beat him, including one who had a very filthy mouth...can THAT be the SANTA that comes down my chimney...What is it about when men act so bad, that makes them so damn irresistible...whatever it is, HHH has got it dripping off of him.

Ok, I'm back...a lot of little breaks during this column, it seems as if my hormones are raging...maybe its because me and Sharon were discussing how we wouldn't mind if for their next attempt to humiliate the Hardy's and Christian and Edge, HHH and Steph sign them up to compete in a chocolate pudding match...no spoons needed for this one....

On a different note, the topic of the week has got to be the alleged confrontation between Jericho and McMahon after a TV taping last week. I have learned a long time ago not to believe all or even a fraction of what I hear on the newsboards, so I really wonder what happened at this meeting. In my mind, the WWF has nothing to complain about with Jericho. He is a very skilled worker, he is awesome on the stick, and he has a huge amount of heat...where's the complaint....there is none. I don't know if the two are related, but Jericho didn't seem like his usual self on RAW. He didn't even take the mike, and it seemed like he got booed because of it. Then he gets his ass kicked by the freakin Godfather, a man who should be promptly removed from my television set...What's up with that...I know it was just a set up to get Chyna out there, but still...Chyna looked beautiful last night...I hope they do indeed make it that she has a thing for Y2J. Hell HHH has some romance in his life, why can't Chyna....then we can get a HHH/Jericho feud sometime in the future...

Is Fatu really as over as I think he is? I mean there was a freaking Rakishi chant going on after their match against the Posse. I love this guy too, he is big but really quick, and his end move is awesome. I bet Too Cool are thanking their lucky stars that Rakishi came around to save them from No HEAT ZONE...a place usually reserved for Mideon and Steve Blackman...

But wait, can it be...Blackman is actually starting to get a minimal crowd reaction. There is something about him and Kurt Angle together that just works...Hell, Angle is so hated, I think anyone could get face heat against him, but now Blackman comes to save Angle from getting splashed by Viscera because Stephanie asked him too? What did Stephanie promise him for it? Questions, questions...

Is it just me or did Al Snow suddenly become just awesome? He dyes his hair black, gets some awesome new darker theme music...challenges the Rock, looks to be aligned with the Outlaws, and suddenly you got an incredible match between Al and the Rock, which sees Al Snow, yes Al Snow come out on top...through underhanded tactics for sure, but a win is a win...this new darker Al Snow really works for him, the staredown between him and the Rock before the match was enough to send chills down your spine. Al Snow is definitely not one of the millions....

Poor Test...I don't know what was worse, being beaten down by the outlaws or having to wear that horrible nose protector to the ring...

Where the Outlaws in every match or what? Someone needs to kick their asses...hopefully the Acolytes will get the job done at the Royal Rumble.

X-Puke had the night off...my Xmas wish was answered.

All in all, I must say I am a great appreciator of the Helmsley-McMahon ERA. HHH and Stephanie are deliciously entertaining as the evil duo, their vignettes always have me laughing...and best of all, HHH can do what he does best...work the stick without getting in the ring and reminding us all what a piss poor wrestler he is...

I must say I was mildly disappointed that Ken Shamrock didn't make his long awaited return...but I am only hoping that he will come back next Monday, when I along with Heather...the biggest Shamrock fan I know...hell she has a web-site dedicated just to him will be in attendance...I promise you, if he returns, Heather will have a heart attack right next to me.

On the ECW front...this Friday night Mike Awesome will take on Masato Tanaka for the ECW title...Please find a way to watch this match. Whenever these two men enter a ring to face each other magic happens, and from the fans notes this one is no exception. Please tune in...give it a chance, you won't be disappointed.

Sorry for the jumbled column this week, I have this cold I just can't shake, and my brain is congested. Again I hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday...

As for my Christmas wish, that's an easy one...Christian under my tree, wrapped in red and green ribbon, wearing nothing else....

See ya.
