SHARON'S EDGE

Greetings, Sports entertainment fans! This week has been chockful of so many things to bitch and moan about, where do I start? Hhmm...I guess I can do like so many columnists and rag on Unforgiven but I've never been into following trends so..let's start with wondering where the storylines in the WWF are headed:

1-Jeff Jarrett vs. any woman (besides Kitty)-It frightens me how many guys are actually into this angle. Even the guys at WWF.com love this. This tells me that there are alot of lonely, insecure, not to mention angry guys out there. Now I do understand the whole aspect of JJ being a heel and going after the women that step in the ring with him. But this does not explain his going after women doing their jobs, such as the make-up lady and the floor director.

2-OK, on one hand we have JJ actually hitting women, well, putting them in figure 4 leglocks, on the other hand we have Chazz, who has been accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend. He's being treated like a pariah while JJ is being left alone-can you say double standard? Can you say stupid angle?

3-You have Jacky, Luna and Tori-the first two are real wrestlers (I'm not sure about Tori) who had to let their skills take a backseat while putting the artist formerly known as Sable over. Now they're regulated to the locker room while twilight year Moolah and Mae wrestle Ivory? Vince, what up with that?

4-Chris Jericho is constantly referring to himself as tough, dangerous, and a 'bad mama jama'-yet he runs whenever confronted? Now, I like Chris but what are they doing with him?

5-Now people criticize WCW for unceremoniously dumping angles but the WWF does that too-now before you accuse me of being a WCW mark, let me explain: I think the Blair Witch spoof 'Blonde Bytch' had promise but it was dropped, the whole dissolution of PMS and disappearance of Ryan Shamrock, the team of Tori and Test, and that whole Corporate Ministry thing. Then there are things that happen with virtually no explanation like the reunion of the New Age Outlaws, the return of the British Bulldog to main event status, and the absences of Paul Bearer,Jacky and the Blue Meanie.

6-The teaming up of the Rock and Mankind-it's amazing to think these two almost killed each other seven months ago. I love the Rock and Mick has really grown on me. I have to admit that the Life segment ran a little too long but they have really great chemistry. Does this mean they won't be having any more matches against each other?

7-Now everybody and their mother are predicting a big swerve before or during the big wedding of Test and Stephanie McMahon.Since there never seems to be a simple storyline, I agree that something big will happen but what? Will it be a heel turn for Test? A heel Steph? A GTV segment featuring Terri & Test? Vince just might surprise you and let this wedding happen with no big explosion.

Now quick on the heels of the settlement of Rena Mero's case, we have a new case on the books-Nicole Bass vs. the WWF for 110 million dollars. As a long time listener of Howard Stern, I knew Nicole and therefore wasn't surprised by her appearance. I also had no qualms about her femininity, unlike many of these internet writers. She always came off like a nice woman on HS and she even answered a note I wrote her but this lawsuit sounds like sour grapes to me. First of all, considering how Howard and the gang taunted Nicole, I'm surprised she hasn't sued him. But then I guess his pockets aren't deep enough!

It's a shame her WWF role didn't work out because I was looking forward to her facing Chyna, not to mention what she could do to JJ! I'm sorry, Nicole, but a woman your size should have no problem defending herself against any man. I'm not even half your size but if a guy grabbed my boob...well a nut shot comes to mind. And the things said to you in the ring pale in comparison to what I've heard Howard & the gang say to you. Just get over it and move on. And I'll take my own advice. Until next time, dear readers.
