SHARON'S EDGE

Greetings, sports entertainment fans! Sharon here, well, let me start by saying I hate to be disloyal to my favorite federation but I'm now convinced that ECW puts on the best PPV's. Their matches are truly action packed with very little talking-the epitome of 'shut up and wrestle'!! Their matches are also alot longer, which, as a WWF fan used to short matches, I'm getting used to. My only complaint, as a female fan, is the blatant T&A. Now I've heard some people (male people) say that the female fan is almost nonexistant, therefore our opinions don't matter. I say that most feds realize women watch, which is why there are storylines, instead of just straight wrestling.

The one positive point about the females in ECW I can make is, that they're not afraid of joining in the action nor are they afraid of taking bumps. But what is the point of Francine or Dawn Marie getting knocked over, their dresses flying up and showing their asses? Oh I'm sorry, I guess I'm looking at this too intellectually. It's to give the guys out there a sexual thrill. Wow, thanks, Paul. So when do we girls get a peek at RVD's fantastic ass? (Sorry, Billy Gunn, RVD is the real Mr. Ass) And continuing in this vein-why is it we finally get a tuxedo match but it's between 2 men neither I (or any other woman) would ever want to see undressed? Oy! Howard Finkel in his red skivvies still haunt me. (Why couldn't it have been Edge or Rock?)

Anyway, I think ECW has hit upon a smart idea; one that Vince & Co. should take note of-their PPV's are every other month. I understand that the WWF is in big demand but having a PPV every month just dilutes the product. Less is more, Vince! I'm already anticipating ECW's 'November to Remember'!! I really hope Vince reconsiders this monthly ppv idea at the new year. Well onto to other subjects- I can understand JJ trying to prove to Chyna he will show her no mercy but attacking old ladies and make-up women prove nothing but his insecurity.

I guess he hasn't noticed that Jackie and Luna are like half the size of Chyna, therefore one does not equal the other! I'm really hoping Chyna walks out of Unforgiven with that belt!!! In the words of ECW fans- F*** Him Up, Chyna, F*** Him Up!!! I think the character of Chyna is also a result of the female fans influence, after all, the endless supply of hoes, kitten and puppies only go so far. And do you think it's coincidence that Vince has found so many wrestlers that are talented and good looking? Remember the days before the advent of sports entertainment? No disrespect intended but Andre the Giant? Hulk Hogan? Bruno Sammartino? Gorilla Monsoon? No pin-ups there.

Now we have eye candy with good moves like The Rock, Edge, Christian, Test, Val Venis, Chris Jericho, Ken Shamrock, Stone Cold, D'Lo Brown, etc. I think the influence of the female fan is underrated. So there! Well, enough venting from me. I want to give a big shout out to Rebecca and Heather who will be at Unforgiven this weekend-have fun, girls! Be safe and say hi to my favorite men!!!

Until next time, dear readers,

Sharon
