SHARON'S EDGE

Hey everybody! Well, I got a response to my last column from Matt Plunk, who questioned my including Test in the list of Lightweight belt contenders. Matt, you're right, Test is too big to be included in that list. I think I was just naming all the young guys I liked. Well, we'll substitute Taka Mikonichou (sp?) for Test, OK? And hopefully, with the demise of SuperAstros, we'll see more luchadores on RAW and Smackdown! Viva Papi Chulo!

Anyway--I wasn't feeling very inspired at the beginning of the week but after the last 3 shows, there are some things we can discuss. First of all, I am so glad they put matches back on 'Heat'. I said it before, this new Heat premise worked well as a pre-PPV program but I wasn't feeling it as a weekly show. Obviously, they're still revising it, adding the Deja Video portion and a profile. Seeing that bloody classic Hell in a Cell match with UT & Mankind and also seeing the man who broke my heart, Edge profiled was very cool. And it was great to see the old ECW match-up; I'm glad to see Meanie wasn't dropped along with Goldust.

I guess RAW was taking full advantage of their late time slot, what with Tori leaving her pants in the dressing room, Jackie in the shower, and Mark Henry being accompanied by someone who couldn't keep her dress (or shirt?) down. Geez, guys, do we have to go there? I guess JJ is working overtime on getting his heel act over what with that brutal assault on Jackie and attacking Moolah and Mae on Smackdown! OK, Jeff ,we get it-you're a dick. I loved when Moolah told him Chyna was going to kick his butt! I hope she does!

I didn't get JR hyperventilating to tell us Stone Cold would be at Smackdown! I really think they should've save that as a surprise (for us that don't read spoilers) I found myself sitting through Smackdown! wondering when SCSA would make his appearance. I thought he was going to jump out of that grave and when he did appear, although I liked the way it worked out, it was rather anti-climactic.So at the end of Smackdown! we had Rock unconscious in the back, Mankind buried in a hole, Big Show knocked out in the dirt, Kane chasing Chyna around, and HHH trapped in a smashed ambulance-can't wait 'til next week!

Random Thoughts & Observations

  • Just where does the WWF find those women who escort guys to the ring and just who is dressing them?
  • Did Paul Bearer pierce Paul Wight's ear? (I like it!)
  • What do you think family night is like at the Hollys? I'm seeing food everywhere, along with broken furniture.
  • Do you think Tori was just so hyped to fight Ivory that she didn't even think about getting dressed for it? Was she in the midst of getting ready when she heard Ivory refer to her as a skank and was just pissed?
  • So why were Prince Albert, Viscera and Droz just sitting around in that room? There was no monitor and Droz wasn't wearing any pants! (Maybe he was doing that for Tori.)
  • Just where did Mark Henry get the idea that he was carrying D'Lo all this time? And how does he explain how well D'Lo was doing when he was out?
  • The Rock rolling his eyes up, saying 'Die,die, die' was priceless! As was Mankind's interpretation of 'Staying Alive'. Too bad this team is over with.

I read an interesting column on the Sable legacy and I give props to Hyatte at Scoopscentral. He usually does those funny recaps but this time he took a serious look at just what the character of Sable meant. Check it out. Good work, man. Well, that's it for me. Until next time, dear readers.
