SHARON'S EDGE

Greetings sports entertainment fans! Sorry I'm late, I had to chase my muse down. I think she's been staying with the mighty Shawn Colton! Hey, CRZ, I've decided that Heather, Rebecca and I are the Charlie's Angels of this site! Armed with our mighty, er-keyboards! Um...OK.. never mind. Guess I've been spending too much time in the movie theaters lately. (I've always thought of you guys as the "World's Most Dangerous Abs" trio for some reason. ;-) - CRZ) Let's talk wrestling, shall we? I'm not going to do a recap of Fully Loaded, that's been done to death all over. Let's look at the highlight reel:

I missed the first 5 minutes of the beginning of the show-damn, I missed Jeff dancing *sigh* but I was impressed by the mixed tag team match-but I have to agree with my sister Rebecca. What the hell was up with so much camera time for Trish? And could you please get her something that fits? Oh I'm sorry, we're doing highlights, not rants. Onwards, I give Tazz & Al a thumbs up, simply because it wasn't a squash. Al's been in this business a long time and when he's not hiding behind a mannequin's head or stuffed deer head, he's got skills. It was good to see them again.

Alright now that Eddy is over, Perry got his belt. I have no problem with this-I like Perry but I don't understand why they think being with Terri will help get him over. In the words of my friend, Ryan, Terri doesn't get anyone but Terri over. (It's true too.) Darnit, I'm doing a recap! Back to my original claim- Bradshaw's promo. I love Christian & Edge, I love the Acolytes-I loved this match and the promo set the tone. Maybe they should change that to the Acolyte Annihilation Agency.

I really enjoyed the Venis/Rikishi match and the highlight was definitely the Snuka-like splash from the top of the cage. Damn! I give big props to both of these guys-Rikishi for doing it and Val for taking it. Come to think of it, I think I'd rather take that cage splash than the stinkface! I also liked Benoit's not only destroying the Rock's wardrobe, but coming out in one of his torn shirts! I liked the UT/Angle match but was surprised to see UT dominate. The Last Man Standing match was very good too while the promo reel of HHH saying he 'wanted Jericho's ass' over and over, not to mention the things Jericho said on RAW, was giving slash fiction fans some serious inspiration!

I also liked the main event and although I was a Rock fan, I wasn't very upset that he lost. Rebecca made a good point last week in her column. Something that she and I have discussed as a matter of fact, the Rock is so over, he really doesn't need a belt. Hey, as long as he's on the show, I'm happy. So I was cool with Benoit winning but I kinda wished Mick had let him hold the belt for 24 hours, then came out on RAW and demanded a rematch. But hey-I'm not a booker, I'm just a fan. But all in all, I give this PPV a thumbs up.

Onto RAW, it was so cool to see the Hardys/2Blonde/Dudleys again! I've missed them taking on each other! I also have to say how much I enjoyed Lodown vs. Hardys on Smackdown, as well as their match against the Dudleys on Heat. I was kind of wary of the way they put D'Lo and Chazz together but I'm quickly becoming a fan! They work very well together, (D'Lo does NOT suck!!) and hopefully now, let's let them complain about their lack of respect and push. I also have to give Trish big props-she really plays the heel manager role to perfection! And all without talking! The slamming of the cage door on Rikishi's head, the attacks on wrestling's new sweetheart, Lita- not to mention taking the stinkface-I have to hand it to her.

OK, so this newest thing between Road Dogg & X-Pac-the boasts of being the best (btw, CRZ were you in shock that Xpuke actually jobbed cleanly to Blackman? Were the planets offline or what?) (BEST SMACKDOWN EVER!! - CRZ) reminds me of a similar angle between Roadie & Billy Gunn. So how inevitable is their showdown against each other? Hmm...I predict by Unforgiven, if not SummerSlam-they'll meet and DX will be dead again. It seems that the fac-gime is disintegrating, to be replaced by Shane's Canadian Mafia (plus Angle & Big Show). Wasn't it funny that Steph's predicted turn on HHH didn't happen at the PPV?

Well, let me talk about my other favorite fed-ECW. The hardcore show was really good this weekend (sorry Rebecca!) seeing the debut of Hardy protégés, Joey Matthews & Christian York in a 4-way tag match with Little Guido/Tony Mamaluke & the Baldies & Nova/Chetti-what an introduction! Those two showed a very impressive debut, I hope they stay for a long time. There was also a great match between EZ Money & Kid Kash-Kash is THE MAN in my opinion. He's just great. I'd really like to see him take on Jerry Lynn-that would just totally rule! Sorry, my 2Blonde shot kicked in.

It was good to see the new egotistical Blue Boy as he wants to be known now. But I guess he's still comic relief-he was taken out by Jazz, as was Jasmin. I see their wrestling site has taken multiple pics of Jasmin in various states of undress-did you know they have 7 (count 'em 7!!) galleries of Electra? That's more than both Dawn & Francine! My mind is boggled by that thought. Anyway, I'm sure of the reason why Jasmin's here but what are they going to do with the Blue Boy? The hardcore show also presented a title match between Justin Credible & Carl Oulette (one of the Quebecers) which was good too. Justin's eye and jaw was swollen from his encounter with Tajiri last week-he looked terrible.

I hadn't expected much from this match honestly but I was pleasantly surprised. Francine lived up to her 'Queen of Extreme' title by taking a great splash through a table! It's matches like this that allow you to forgive Paul E. for his occasional bad booking ideas like seeing Tajiri showboat for the crowd or go after Francine as opposed to oh...pinning Justin to win the title!!! Last week's hardcore show featured a match between RVD & Little Guido that would've been better had it not been for RVD's excessive showboating! This week's TNN show had a good match between RVD & Balls Mahoney that ended with Van Dam's new, very impressive move 'The Van Terminator'.

Random Thoughts

  • How cute was Mick with Trish on Smackdown? He really is a sweetie!
  • Hormones raging, how adorable was Rey on Thunder? OMG!!! Whassup, indeed!
  • Call me twisted but I loved the whole flowers thing with HHH on Monday, then the Trish thing on Thursday-hee hee, jealousy is an ugly thing.
  • Jericho's promo after his match with Benoit was great! Not to mention that hurricanrana Lita did to Benoit!
  • She looked like she hurt herself with that jump on Trish from the top rope-I guess that Hardys recklessness is contagious!
  • The Goodfather? I loved his finally realizing the pop he got was purely for the hos. Well-DUH! So where does it go from here? And isn't it similar to Dustin's abandoning of his Goldust character?
  • Btw, isn't Steven Richards a little cutie! Sorry, the hormones again.
  • Whassup-from the Dudleys to the Filthy Animals. OK.
  • I'm waiting impatiently for Chyna to get her hands on Terri again. Soon, please?
Hey this was a good week to be a wrestling fan.

Until next time,

**P.S. Hey did you know on spell check, they want to replace Trish with trash? Coincidence? :)
