SHARON'S EDGE

Hey sports entertainment fans! Well, To repeat what you've all heard-What a week for wrestling fans! Although I'm still reeling from Smackdown's debut, let's examine what's happened this week, shall we? First of all, the new format of Sunday Night Heat-well, it worked as a pre PPV show but what's the point of yet another recap show when you have Livewire and Superstars? Well, I guess I can go back to watching Pokemon Saturday mornings-oops! Did I say that? *Ahem* Well, I was hoping for a D'Lo win with a Debra/JJ bust-up but I guess Mark Henry was so ticked at D'Lo for making him diet, that he turned on him. Oh well, I'd been hearing rumors that either Mark or D'Lo would turn heel but this betrayal really caught me off guard.

The tag team elimination matches were great! My only complaint is that poor Christian & Edge were so pooped by the time the Acolytes came in, they were just squashed! They should've saved those jobbers Mideon & Viscera for last! ( Note to Mr. Ass-Viscera was once King of the Ring too, think about it!) Poor Al Snow, every time he gets attached to something, someone steals it. I recently read an interview with ECW's Tommy Dreamer and he talked about the mock hardcore matches those 2 other federations have-and he's right. Thank goodness ECW is getting a chance to reach a larger audience to show the uninformed what real hardcore is.

It might be slightly interesting to see matches go all over the building, in the parking lot and across the street but just how interesting is it for the fans actually at the event? Keep it in the ring, fellas! I like Al Snow but these matches just don't get me involved. And the best thing about the women's match was Luna's return! I heard the 'boring' chants and if I were there, I'd probably be chanting it too.(Note to the WWF-you need more female wrestlers, not valets) I also liked the interplay between Road Dogg & Chris Jericho-his saying 'DX sucks!' should put a rest to those rumors that he would be joining them.

OK, what was the point of putting a blanket over that heavy woman's head? I thought it was going to be someone we knew-I hope she got paid a fat fee for her appearance because it was degrading. I guess being surrounded by the ho's, puppies, kittens and implants has blinded the men at the WWF that if you look in the audience you'll see a lotta overweight people (and a lot of really skinny guys with letters painted on their chests-sweeties, please put your shirts back on!) For the King & J.R. to make rude comments-come on, you guys aren't skinny either!

Anyway, I was glad to see the Rock overcome that stupid match. It's still strange to see a little guy like X-Pac in the ring with all these giants but I really thought they would pull it off, especially in Pac's hometown! What a swerve! I say split them up and let X-Pac go after the IC, Light Heavyweight or Euro belts! And let Kane go after some too! As for the main match, it was good to see a ref that wasn't taking any stuff- I loved how Jesse refused to count after HHH did the chair shot to Mankind! And what a way to end it-with HHH's 'mean streak' coming out in full force against the 'invincible' Stone Cold!

But the best match was Shane and Test-I'm a fan of both of these guys and just enjoyed the whole thing! That elbow drop of Shane's ranks right up there with Vince's fall from St. Valentine's Day Massacre! I know he was proud of his son that night! All in all, a really good PPV. Now onto RAW-a Rock/Gangrel match? What is Rock working his way down the roster? Nothing against Gangrel, I mean I like the new Brood! I must say Gangrel gave him more of a match then Edge did a while back. But the arrival of Edge & Christian was too much of a quick tease for me!

Aside from that, it was the same matches from the PPV. The Test & Steph love story is so sweet, I've heard some people comparing it to the whole Macho Man/ Elizabeth angle from years ago but I wasn't a wrestling fan then so it's news to me! I loved Shane's puppy dog look to Steph after Test proposed-regardless of that Summer Slam match, you know he ain't letting it happen! I'm also wondering about this Blonde Bytch Project-I was thinking Sunny but someone else said it might be Gillburg in a blonde wig (as a parody of Sable) That would be priceless!

I think when HHH won that belt, the happiest person was Chyna. Damn that guitar shot she took looked painful, yet she forgot about it long enough to join her man in the ring! (Now just where was HE when she was struck? ) OK , now onto Smackdown-what a debut-it really started off with a bang! The set was very impressive and the fans were into it. Again, it was the same matches but what a way to introduce yourself to a wider audience. I'm not getting this whole UT/TBS pairing, TBS seems to be cowering to him. But it's funny to see and hear UT at the announcer's table.

Speaking of announcers, I think it's interesting that they sent that female announcer to do Lucas' job but she still doesn't seem to be into it. I thought for a minute there Chyna was going to flatten her! Lots of people wrote about how awful Lillian Garcia was (and she was) but according to Lucas, she was put in at the last minute so I won't hold anything against her, she can only get better.(we hope) So Steph accepted Test's proposal, that was so romantic! Now of course, Shane ain't letting it happen! I say he'll hire a fake preacher or he'll be masked and it will turn out to be--Vince!

What the heck was the point of Tori stripping BEFORE her match? From the back, she looked like Nicole Bass! (Note to WWF-no more back shots of Tori!) And again we have Luna for the save (of Ivory this time) I see Ivory's conformed and gotten breast implants-thankfully not so huge as to be noticable.

Now I hear that the WWF did spoilers on its page but I didn't read them so I was in shock after HBK gave Rock sweet chin music-and judging from the audience, they were too. I'd heard rumors of a heel DX forming, I guess they have. Does this mean we'll see HBK more often now? Did anyone miss Stone Cold? ( I hope so on one and not really on the other.) Well, I'm awaiting next week's chapter of my favorite soap opera. Until then, dear readers.
