SHARON'S EDGE

Greetings sports entertainment fans! Welcome again to my little corner of the wrestling world. So much to discuss-let's start with the first PPV of the Millennium-ECW's Guilty As Charged, shall we?
As usual, the roster worked their asses off but I found myself feeling a bit blah about the whole thing. I even heard an interview with Lance Storm where even he said he wasn't really psyched up for the show. I guess with the size of their roster, every loss is noticed and I really miss Taz and the Dudleys! Not to mention Balls and Axl! Well, I was sorry to see the Rhino/Sandman face-off scratched  but I did love the spear (or gore) Rhino gave Dusty Rhodes-Damn!!!
What really impresses me about ECW is that even though they feature the same matches, i.e., Tajiri vs. Super Crazy or Sabu vs. RVD-they don't get old! Most of the roster is truly talented and impressive so their matches really manage to stay fresh. My main disappointment was that RVD didn't lose his belt! I read rumors that he would be going after the Hardcore Champion belt ( RVD vs. Mike Awesome? I'm there!!)so I thought for sure Sabu would become the new TV champ! As for his 'quitting' ECW, how is Paul E. going to work that? Is Sabu taking some time off or is he going to Japan?
Congratulations to the new tag team champs-the Impact Players! I love these guys and I look forward to seeing them defend those belts! I was also kind of disappointed that Spike Dudley didn't win-especially after those awesome promos! I loved seeing the pissed off side of Spike (and who knew he was actually a cutie?) I'm sure his body was one big bruise after all those table shots. I really thought the Giant killer would bring Awesome down but hey-after that totally stiff shot Mike gave Spike's girl (OUCH!!) I look forward to seeing this feud go on! I don't think Spike is going to let it rest until he takes Awesome down!
Well, onto my favorite fed. I thought it was such an honorable, respectable thing the way almost the whole WWF roster came out to demand Mick's reinstatement. He deserves all the respect in the world! I'd waited for Vince and Shane to ride in like the Cavalry but I liked this idea much better! It was truly Mick's show from the opening tribute to the faux Mankind torturing to the bloody match with HHH! I really hope Vince makes his dream come true-retiring as the main event at Wrestle- mania 2000!  After all Mick's done in the business, he deserves that too! I did question the inclusion of the Mean St. Posse and Al Snow, considering what they've put Mankind through!

    Some Random Thoughts~

  • ECW's Elektra might have a good figure but geez, that face is scary! And was it really necessary for her to remove that flimsy covering? Oh, I forgot, it was to titillate the male fans when Chris Chetti simulated oral sex on her. Chris, sweetie, please......
  • There's a rumor that the Godfather will get a set of permanent ho's-complete with names and personalities. I don't know, part of the gimmick is the set of new ho's in every city.  Doesn't sound very viable to me. But I'm not a Godfather fan, sometimes I miss Kama.
  • It just warms my heart to see all the anti-Xpac signs out there. Glad to see I'm not alone. I already know Cyan, Rebecca and I would love to a La Femme Nikita on him.
  • Ok-Edge=engaged; D'Lo=engaged, Mark Henry=engaged; Chris Jericho=engaged, and Paul Wight=engaged-is there something in the WWF water?
  • I don't think the Mean St. Posse works as well without Shane in the mix. Personally, I think the only true wrestler in the bunch-Joey Abs, should get a singles push while the Gas brothers become a tag team. Shane has not ruled out a reconciliation but in the meantime, give Joey a push!
  • I guess Prince Albert must have amnesia. I recall when Big Boss Man left Droz bleeding in the middle of the ring. Hey, Prince, it's called loyalty!
  • I would've thought the first person Test would want a match with would be HHH! He's taken this whole wedding swerve a little too well, don't you think? Why not have a Test/HHH match where Test beats HHH only to have Steph declare it a non-title match? This boy is overdue for a blow-up!
  • OK, I finally rented an UFC tape and maybe I picked a bad one, but it was a real snoozefest.   You would think the he combination of wrestling and kick boxing would be exciting. After 2 hours, I found myself wondering why Ken Shamrock is so hellbent on going back. If any of you out there are UFC fans, please tell me why and suggest titles. The tape I had was set in Japan and featured the debut of Frank Shamrock. Maybe the Best of Ken Shamrock tape is more exciting. I'll have to check it out.
Well, that's it for me. I would appreciate any feedback to my column so I can avoid those
pangs of jealousy when I see CRZ, Michaelangelo and Cyan referring to their letters.
         Thank you....
         Until next time, dear readers....................
