SHARON'S EDGE Well, greetings, sports entertainment fans! It's Sharon here, with my news and views. So much to discuss, where shall I start? Hhhmm..let me start with what I just listened to-Bret Hart on Howard Stern. My,my, Bret is still singing the 'Vince McMahon screwed me' song. Not only that, but now he's insinuating that Shawn Michaels and Vince were homosexual lovers. Weeelll, isn't that special? I don't know what to say about that. The only thing that drives me crazy is that Robin & Howard don't have a clue to what Bret is talking about-it's exasperating when non-fans talk wrestling. They should've at least had a mandatory viewing of 'Wrestling with Shadows'! Anyway--I'm sorry I missed the Russo interview on WCW Live, as I heard he got heated at callers' opinions that the WCW was now ripping off WWF angles. You know, I'm starting to wonder if the real reason behind these defections was that Russo wanted to be on TV and Vince wouldn't allow it! I tried to watch WCW over the weekend and I swear the focus of the show is now Russo and his partner-'powers that be', 'the guys in the back', etc. I ended up turning the show off! It seems to me that this move served more to promote himself than WCW! Guess he's looking for a big Hollywood job. Well, the ECW really put on a great show last weekend-I think that's the best I've seen Taz. When he caught RVD in mid-kick and suplexed him, I was impressed. I'm just surprised that 3 of the toughest guys in the company-New Jack, Taz, and Sabu have finally been shown not to be invincible! Sabu lost his match with Justin Credible at the last PPV, Taz has lost his belt, and Da Baldies managed to get the upper hand on New Jack! That 6 man match ended up just being mayhem, pure and simple! As a new ECW fan, I'm just really sorry I missed the whole Raven legacy-from his feud with Sandman to his feud with Tommy Dreamer. How soon before the Sandman & Tommy are tag team champs? And what is the deal with Raven? He gets cheers but he doesn't seem like a good guy at all. Does anyone know where I can rent ECW tapes? I can find old WWF/WCW and even some UFC tapes at my local Blockbuster but not ECW. All in all, a really exciting PPV-they do alot with such a limited roster. Onto my favorite fed, Vince, what are you doing with the Big Red Machine?? He went from an unstoppable force to be reckoned with to a caring guy with feelings who gets beat up alot. Why is it when you made him humane-you took his strength away? Why is he fighting BBM when he should be going after DX, particularly that little X-Puke! Just once, Kane, catch him in mid heel kick and spin him into the mat!!! And get away from Tori-you might catch something!! Actually, I have nothing against Tori, it's just that she has no substance-I know alot of you guys out there thinks she's hot and that's enough for you but it would be nice if her character had been developed more. I mean, she went from a Sable stalker to an opponent in the blink of an eye! Then again, the women in the WWF aren't exactly chosen for their abilities, it seems that cup size have a lot more to do with it, unfortunately. Now we have Survivor Series this weekend- there are 4, count 'em 4, eight man elimination matches! I'm looking forward to the Hollys/Too Much/Hardys/Edge & Christian match- I know we saw it on tv already but anything with the new Canadian Country and the Hollys is great! Too Much I would like more if they dumped that stale gimmick-I can't believe I miss the Ambiguously Gay Duo! They were amusing at least! This Too Cool gimmick is so 3 years ago!! When they were on the mike on RAW, I was cringing! You know, Vince, maybe if you had some black writers, you could stay current with the slang-know what I'm saying? Anyway-I was kind of sad to see the Sock and Head Connection lose their belts so quickly-especially to the New Age Outlaws! Come on-again? When are Edge and Christian going to get those belts??? And I'm waiting for my writer's credit because as I predicted, in an attemp to get real heat, DX kidnapped Steph and even made some suggestive moves on her-did I call it or what? Well, at least we get to see Jacky, Luna and Debra back in action! And I refuse to make any jokes about a Sudden death match involving Moolah and Mae Young. I'm sure King is working on jokes right now! But why are they involved in this match-I thought the senior citizen tourney was over!! Where are all these women they've signed?? I am curious to see what Terri and Debra do in the ring this weekend. And finally, we get to see Kurt Angle show us his stuff ( for those of us who missed his house show matches)! And hopefully, we will see Kane chokeslam X-puke to Hell and then stuff him in a Hansen's can! (Hey, a girl can dream!) I also have a sinking feeling that Chyna will lose her IC belt. They've included damn near the whole roster!! And the whole Bret Hart thing is looming over the event, especially with Vince appointing himself as special ref-who will get screwed this year?
