SHARON'S EDGE

Wow! What a week(so far) in wrestling! Let's start with the pre-PPV stuff-first of all, it was great to see D'Lo back in action and what a great pop he got! His moves were very impressive, especially that dive over the top rope! But we all know how great D'Lo is! It was also good to see Taka again-now where's Papi Chulo? Steve Blackman is still as stiff as a kendo stick, though. I'm also enjoying this Headbangers/Dudleys fued, although I'm really looking forward to when the Dudleys face off against the New Age Outlaws! Now onto  No Mercy, which more than made up for the last lackluster PPV. In my humble opinion, they should've substituted that Godfather/Mideon match with the D'Lo/Prince Albert one-it was much better paced.

Now let's look at my predictions-Chyna did win the IC belt, although it ended up more by default with JJ leaving but who cares-she won!!!!Whooo! Whooo! Go Chyna! Moolah defeated Ivory-WHYYYY???????? I'm going to try to explain this by saying this is Vince's way of making fun of the elder WCW champs-OK? And now on Smackdown, we have a Mae vs. Moolah match-who's got the  crack pipe over there? Puh-leez! The Rock actually beat Bulldog-now I love Rock but I really thought they would use him to get Davey over. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this match. I also struck out with naming the New Age Outlaws as the winners-I guess somebody up ther likes the Holly cousins!

Well, I was right about X-Punk winning the 4 corners match and screwing his partner, Kane but obviously Kane is very forgiving as they remain together as a team. I really expected a heel turn by X-Pac too, but alas, not so far. The highlight-the showstopper-the true money shot of the PPV belonged squarely to the Hardyz/Edge/Christian ladder match. Now I actually didn't pick a winner for this match and it didn't matter-it was the match of the year! Now I know everyone and their brother have been heaping praise on this match and while I usually try to avoid trends-these 4 guys deserve all the props in the world for putting ton a helluva show!! The true winners were the fans!

And frankly, I'm relieved the Hardys won-although considering Gangrel got the prize while not even competing, makes me wonder if they shouldn't just take the money and run! As for the main event, I did predict HHH would retain the belt although I didn't count on the Rock to inadvertantly help him! Poor Rock, a sledgehammer and a pedigree?

All in all, a good PPV-I give it a solid B.

Random Thoughts and Observations
  •     I find the idea of Chyna having a valet interesting but why should she trust Miss Kitty?
  • Weren't you disappointed to see Test get his ass handed to him by the Bulldog & the Posse? Oh well, at least this has the makings of a good fued (I hope)
  • Why are Kane and X-Pac still together? Is Kane waiting for the Undertaker to return?
  • I miss Chazz's hair so shut up, Michael Cole!
  • Big Boss Man is giving HHH a true run for his money in the WWF's biggest asshole contest. Damn, first Pepper then Big Show's dad. What a sick bastard-I love it! I can't wait to see Big Show chokeslam through the ring!
  • Viscera actually looked good in his match with the Godfather. Nice to see the old King of the Ring can occasionally overcome jobber status.
  • I don't know who deserves the Emmy more-Big Show or Mick Foley. Both guys were breaking my heart-especially Mick. I just wanted to give him a big hug. Now is this the end of the fun, easy-going Mick and the reemergence of the darker, more angry Mankind? Sounds interesting.
  • Evening gown matches and more backstage stuff on Nitro? Sounds like they finally decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
All in all, a good week for wrestling fans!! Until next time, dear readers.
