HULK HOGAN: THE REAL CAREER KILLER

As everyone knows (unless you've been under a rock) there are some wrestlers that call themselves the "career killers." For example Mike Awesome and D'Lo Brown. But are they really career killers? Well, besides D'Lo Brown, nobody else has really finished or ruined a guys career except one wrestler. And that one guy is Hulk Hogan.

Right now you must be thinking, "You're kidding me right?" Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not. Just think about it. Hulk Hogan has put on bad matches, bad interviews, has been in bad angles, and refuses to job. Mix that all together and you have one bad mamma jamma. Here's a list of wrestlers careers that he has killed. Any wrestler that works with him might as well consider his career dead though. But here's just a few, the proud, the deceased.

Ultimate Warrior

The Ultimate Warrior had a promising comeback in WCW. He showed up on a Monday Nitro and gave a memorable interview (it was even better for the people that could actually understand what he was saying). But that was the night the feud with Hulk Hogan started. But there was nowhere to go but down from there. The crappy segments with Hogan screwing with Hogan's mind was horrendous. But luckily it ended at Halloween Havoc. In one of the worst matches I have ever witnessed, Hulk Hogan beat the Warrior. Then tried to set him on fire. Isn't it weird how the Warrior hasn't been seen since?

Ed Leslie

Ed Leslie was loved by everybody when he was Brutus the Barber Beefecake. But when everybody found out he was Hogan's friend his popularity seemed to rise. But that rising point of popularity seemed to mark the beginning of the downfall of his career. First it was the crappy tag team matches with Hogan, then came the boring feud in WCW, and then 3 years later he's Hogan's disciple. It's not hard to figure out how Hogan ruined his career.

Vader's American Career

Vader was known as an unstoppable force in WCW during the early 90's. But of course an unstoppable force can't beat Hogan's ego. Vader lost 3 straight matches and his credibility as a monster heel to Hogan. Later he become a midcard jobber in the WWF that called himself a fat piece of shit. Luckily for Vader, All-Japan accepted him as a good wrestler or he would be working for ECW or in XPW.

Randy Savage

Randy Savage was a great wrestler. He put on some of the greatest matches in wrestling history and will always be known for his amazing mic skills. There's one thing he never did though. He never pinned Hulk Hogan. Not with a run-in or anything. The last two times Savage won the World Title he lost it to Hogan the next night on Nitro. Sure, he was in the Wolfpac and wrestled just last year, but did anybody really care about him then? No. You should have stuck with baseball Randy. At least then your best friend wouldn't ruin you.

Roddy Piper's WCW Career

Roddy Piper is no doubt a legend in the wrestling business. He main evented huge pay per views like Wrestlemania and Starrcade. There's no doubt that the wrestling hall of famer had a great illustrious career. But of course he met the black hole, Hulk Hogan. You see Hulk helped out Piper in the 80's by having that feud with him, but it was when he feuded with Hogan in WCW was when it went down from there. You see, At Halloween Havoc 1996 Roddy Piper came to WCW try to ruin the nWo and face the man that never beat him (according to Piper) Hulk Hogan. Then Piper had some very terrible matches with Hogan. Then he left for 3 months. Then he came back to job to Hogan again. Then he left. Then he came back. Then he jobbed to Hogan again. After all this jobbing to Hogan when he came back again nobody cared about him.

Bret Hart

You remember Wrestlemania 9 don't you? Hogan threatning Vince to not show up to his match if he didn't get the title that night. Man, he's been screwed by everyone.

"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig

The man that made Minnesota famous is a very talented wrestler. He is one of the greatest Intercontinental champions ever. He's one of those guys that makes today's superstars look like indy workers. He could have been and should have been one of the greatest World champions in wrestling history. But he didn't. Want to know why? Because Hogan kept him down. Sure, Hennig got his title shots. He just never won one of those matches. Then all of a sudden Hennig is taken out of the title scene. Well, at least he smashed Hogan's belt. But then we move on. Hogan and Hennig are in WCW together. Hogan was the World champion. Hennig comes back and is loved by everyone. He even became a member of the Four Horsemen. Then he even got to join the nWo. Then guess what happened. Instead of turning face and getting a well deserved title shot he became a member of the nWo B-team. By then nobody cared about him.

Zeus

Yes your read it right. Zeus. The unstoppable maniac from the movie No Holds Barred. Zeus came into the WWF as an unstoppable force (just like in the movie) to do one thing and one thing only. And that one thing was to destroy Hulkamania. A few bad matches containing him and Hogan later with him losing all of those matches and he's gone. He was never to be seen again until WGN Chicago had him be a reporter at a Chicago Bulls championship celebration in Grant Park in 1996.

John Tenta

Do I need to say anymore then his name?

His Own Career

I have been thinking of guys to put in this column for the last couple of weeks and if this thing with him and Russo is a shoot then he ruined his own career. It's bad enough that he is a ego maniac, but you just can't control Vince Russo like that. I mean he's the man that went along with screwing Bret. So why not go ahead and scew 2 wrestling legends? Hogan you are an idiot for making sure you won that match.

Hulk Hogan has buried so many people he should have been given the Undertaker gimmick. He's a real career killer. If Hogan wasn't there to hold Savage down, the Macho Man would probably be a bigger household name than Hulk Hogan. It's true. It's true.

To quote the words of the great Tony Schiavione from Bash at the Beach 1996, "Hulk Hogan, you can go to Hell! Straight to Hell!" Have a good day everyone.
