Hardcore Holly EDC: Rednecks v. No Limit was a terrible gimmick, fued, match, what have you. And Whats funnier is that the Rednecks won! Imagine if the NAACP got wind of that! K. CANZANELLA: Steve Austin v. Undertaker was terrible cartoon crap. Rock v. Mr. Ass gets second cuz I hate both of these guys. Corporation v. Ministry of Darkness was another one of those "exciting, compelling, coherent" WWF angles I keep hearing about. JOEL BOUTIERE: On Sting vs. Hulk Hogan as worst feud: the two played the roles completely opposite of the way the fans wanted them to play, so this feud just didn't work at all. SVEN MASCARENHAS: Savage vs. Nash? Hummers and poop. Berlyn vs. Bagwell was just insulting to most people's intelligence, and Venis and Blackman's main motivation for fighting was a misplaced vibrator. Ugh. AARON: The Bossman/Snow fued lasted almost all year, and, hey, who DID win it anyways? And the matches sucked in addition. Any fued where a decrepid old woman loses her clothing gets thumbs down, and the Buff/Berlyn fued only served to show that Buff is a little bitch and Jim Duggan is a man's man. DON BECKER: Ivory vs. Monday Night Geritol was neither interesting nor enjoyable, no matter how hard Ivory tried, and resulted in Mae Young being stripped to her skivvies. Someone needs to die for that one. The First Family/Revolution killed whatever heat the Revolution could've gotten, and leaving the Revolution may have saved Chris Benoit's career. And not even T&A fans could get behind Sable/Tori. SHAWN MULLIN: The women's feud sucked in more ways than any of us can list, but D-Lo vs. PMS bugged me almost as much. The fake pregnancy crap, the bondage stuff with Mark Henry.. oh god.. how bad was that!? DIE VINCE RUSSO :) MAX CHITTISTER: Find one more person for Moolah and Mae to feud with, and they can have a clean sweep in this category. PAUL SHOCK: Oh, that wily Bischoff! He outsmarted Flair again! Plus beat him in the ring. That's why he's the best wrestling promoter ever, by gosh! BLOB: Steve Austin v. Undertaker was the sickest, nastiest feud of the year. There were a total of 5 wrestling moves in the matches, and a total of 3956 punches in the feud. Hogan vs Nash sucked big time, but I wasn't really expecting much. Rap vs Country was a pretty bad feud, especially since guys like Master P and Swoll were brought into the company. GEORGE CARTER: Pepper # 1 ! Also, why should we care about two old women fighting ?? JOHN C.:The No Limit Soldiers v. West Texas Rednecks was easily the worst. In fact did the No Limit Soldiers do anything that was good? JON RICHARDSON: The opposite of a good feud is one that produces horrible promos and even worse matches. Therefore, the easy winner this year is Randy Savage vs. Kevin Nash. The fact that this feud also spurned the "Who Drove the Hummer?" angle only serves to drag this feud down even further. A close second on the list is Goldberg vs. Sid Vicious. Between Sid's incoherant ramblings, Goldberg's lack of mike skills, a series of increasingly stupid vignettes involving rented cars, and a blow-off match that didn't blow anything off, it was truly godawful. The Rappers vs. The Twangers gets my last vote because it shows just how out of touch WCW was with it's fans. The Soldiers weren't over as faces, the Rednecks weren't over as heels, yet WCW continued pushing them that way for no reason I can find. LEO CHIU: Shamrock/Blackman feud has Shamrock's line of the year. In the Iron Circle, he yells, "You like weapons? AAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" JOE GAGNE: Let's see, Snow/Bossman resulted in one of the worst angles, and one of the worst matches, so it's the easy "winner." Ivory/Moolah-Young? Is there any need to elaborate? The fact that Sid was built up with the ridiculous "Millennium Man" gimmick at the expense of others, and then his feud with Goldberg doesn't reach any satisfactory conclusion earns them third place. JAMES GOWDEY: Big Show vs. Big Bossman: I'd rather have seen a feud of them fighting to keep the "Big" in their names... SEAN FLYNN: Old men fighting, it's either free dentures day at the senior center, or the main events in WCW. Snow/BBM led to Kennel in a cell, which is unforgivable. LUKE JOHNSTON: The West Texas Rednecks vs No Limit Soldiers was by fay the worst fued of the year, and quite possibly the decade. I've never felt more embarrased and ashamed of being a wrestling fan than I was whenever Master P and his goons invaded my TV with their ridiculous "Hooty-hoo!" shouts. What complete and utter crap. B. SZPAKOWICZ: Ivory vs. Moolah and Mae Young... Can someone get those two old hags off the screen before my eyes start to bleed? Al Snow vs. Bossman dragged on for ever and ever and ever and did anyone give a damn? Nope. Flair vs. Bischoff gets third for the horrible, horrible, horrible booking at Starrcade. SUGAR RAY: The feud for leadership of the black and white nWo was just too ridiculous for words, and who the hell cared, huh ? As for Gorgeous George vs Charles Robinson, Mr.Robinson should be ashamed that he actually accepted such a crappy storyline. JEREMY SORIA: Even though it was just the thing to humiliate Jarrett out of the WWF, it was just plain silly. The whole Ric Flair/Bischoff thing in 1998 was ugly enough, but it got uglier the next year with the de-evolution of Ric Flair, trying to make him look crazy. As much as I liked Brad Armstrong and Chase Tatum in the No Limit Soldiers, they had no talent whatsoever. SELENA KYTE: Bambi and Peggy Lee Leather have battled each other for over a decade. I would've thought by now that they moved on to the other women on the independent circuit. I doubt many fans know what started the feud in the first place, and even if they did, I'm not sure it warrants continuing this feud for all these many years. MICHAEL STAKELY: Worst feud 1st. I think this one really needs no explanantion. 2nd. This one was just disturbing and stupid. Plus I used to have a pet dog named Pepper and yes, she was a Chihuahua. Sniff, insensitive bastards. 3rd. Ummm... isn't the heel supposed to you know win at least once? Not overly offensive in concept, just VERY poorly executed. MATT SPAULDING: Buff was right... no buildup for this thing at all. MDB: Corporation v. Ministry gets the Worst feud nod over Savage/Nash because Corporation/Ministry was more absurd, larger in scope, drawn out longer, and led to dozens of bad matches. Nash v. Savage gave us the happy result of effectively ending both their careers. |
