Worst Wrestling Move

Award Description:

To be given to the move that is the worst thing you've seen this year. This
shouldn't be given to a move that was flubbed by a wrestler - the move was
performed correctly, but was just too stupid for words. This move should
probably be a "finishing" move or something that was meant to be
spectacular.

CHRIS BIRD: The Ho Train sucks. Hell, even *King Kong Bundy* quit using an
avalanche splash five years ago. The People's Elbow sucks. It's a shitty
finisher. Randy Savage can't do his flying elbowdrop without crushing
somebody's ribs, thus it sucks too.

EDC: Billy Gunn's Fame Asser is quite possibly the dumbest move I have
ever seen. Big Poppa Pump's Stiener Recliner is only fun when its called
the REAR CHINLOCK OF HIDEOUS DISCOMFORT~! And Hogan's Legdrop is only fun
if its called the LEGDROP OF OF DEATH~! God Bless Dean Rasmussen....

K. CANZANELLA: If the leg drop gets this award over the People's elbow
again I really will have to question the sanity of online fans. The Acid
drop is ridiculous.

GENE MOORE: It saddens me to watch somebody have to sell the "dazed and
confused" look for 5 seconds while Road Dogg pretends he can dance.

NATHAN LONEY: To paraphrase Scott Keith: "Drop the fucking chair, or use
it on him!"

SVEN MASCARENHAS: The Van Daminator is the most business-exposing piece of
crap that I've ever seen someone try in a wrestling ring. Kidman's
powerbomb counter just bores me to death because people keep making the
stupid mistake of attempting the powerbomb. And Billy: IT'S A ROCKER
DROPPER, no matter what dumb name Russo came up with it for you.

MIKE SONBY: Why is Steiner still allowed to do this move?

AARON: Nash's flower drop certainly doesn't have the mystique it used to
have. The Van Daminator wouldn't work on a mental deficient, let alone a
trained wrestler. Just hit him with the fucking chair! And the Bronco Hump
is disturbing.

JOHN ROMANO: Let's just say X-Pac really sucks.

DON BECKER: Brian Knobbs' Pitty City gets the top spot because IT IS NOT A
WRESTLING MOVE! I mean, the Van Daminator is just plain stupid, but
there's a modicum of skill involved. Hulk Hogan's legdrop of doom just
doesn't cut it as a finisher anymore, but it's not the worst of the bunch
anymore.

SHAWN MULLIN: Kidman's powerbomb counter is my vote. Counters should
never be in a guy's repetoire, especially not as a setup move. Hacksaw
didn't wrestle much, but anyone who uses a kneedrop as a finisher deserves
mention in this category. Also, a kick to the face isn't much better
Barbarian.

MAX CHITTISTER: Memo to WWF roster: if you're going to be anywhere near
Chyna, WEAR A FREAKING CUP!

CAN00K: My cats can do a better legdrops than Hulk Hogan.

PAUL SHOCK: Here's the reason Billy Gunn never got over; using the
Dumb-Asser as his finisher. The shame is that Mr. Ass is letting a
perfectly good tornado DDT go to waste. Honourable mention to Jim
Duggan's Old Glory, which always rendered the area of the mat next his
opponent's head unconscious, and to Brian Knobbs' Pitty City.

BLOB: I just wish for once that Kidman would actually take a powerbomb.
This move has annoyed me so many times it's a disgrace. Meng's finisher
should be a regular in this category as it just plain sucks. Swoll's heart
punch was the worst possible move he could've done as a finisher.

GEORGE CARTER: Why is the heart punch so lethal (especially when it is
from Swoll) ???

JOHN C.:Hogan's legdrop sucks but nothing is worse than Swoll's "heart
punch." As much as Hogan and Nash suck, Swoll is even worse.

JON RICHARDSON: X-Pac's bronco buster is a horrible move as is. Why did
everybody else decide to start doing it?

RICHARD BEAUBIEN: As much as I love the Tiger Dirver, I hate Sid's and
Nash's fucked up ten ways to sunday soon to cause injury Power Bomb. The
Godfather replaced his super weak Pimp-Drop (WHICH IS NOT A DVD...The move
sucks so bad it doesn't deserve the name) with an even more awfull
Ho-train..

JAN-MORTIZ KAEDING: My grandpa could kick out of a People's Elbow (and he
died 2 years ago). My grandpa also wouldn't wait half a minute for the
Rock to execute a Rock Bottom. (1st: People's Elbow, 2nd: Rock Bottom,
3rd: Steiner's Bulldog)

JOE GENTILE: The Ho Train is an insult to a fan's intelligence.
Benoit's rolling suplexes are stupid. Are we supposed to believe that
Benoit has the strength to lift the guy up off the ground from that
position.... TWICE?!? It is so obvious that the opponent kicks off the
floor! 3rd: Pitty City. Brian Knobbs, your career is over. Deal with it!

NATE PERRY: I suppose Benoit's snot rocket isn't exactly a move, but
Malenko keeps selling it!

RUTGERSGYM: Oh, hell, the Legdrop of Doom and other favorites will
probably get enough votes as it is, so let's throw a few more stinkers
into the mix. First, then, I went with Test's version of the Meltdown,
since he used it more often with Wrath out of action. (I hate the move in
general, regardless of who uses it) Can anyone tell me what the hell the
pumphandle is supposed to do? Second, well, I got four words for you: YOU
CAN'T POWERBOMB KIDMAN! Third goes to Rey's springboard crotch drop of
doom. With his knee problems I can understand why Rey would go easy, but
that is just a sorry excuse for a highspot.

JOE GAGNE: Van Dam's "please hold a chair to your face while I kick it"
maneuver remains contrived and idiotic. Kidman's powerbomb reversal isn't
a bad move, per se, but when he does it in every single match, well….And
the heart punch should have gone out with Mean Mark Callous. I guess awful
wrestlers like Swoll deserve awful finishers.

SEAN FLYNN: The submission hold was silly it was so bad. The bulldog
looks awful and is dangerous. Luger, after 15 years, it appears will
never learn the clothesline.

KEVIN WONG: You know, I think they simply f*cked up when they called it a
heart punch. I think that Swoll was trying to do a palm thrust to the
chin - which in real life could break your neck, but he did it so poorly
that it hit somewhere in between neck and heart. Not that I'm
complaining, since it's clear that Swoll didn't actually have any
wrestling ability. Speaking of breaking your neck, that's what the
Steiner bulldog could do to you. Note to Rick: If you can't do a dangerous
move properly, don't do it. Finally, there's the Van Daminator. Sure it's
quick, but I would think that a wrestler would have the common sense not
to catch the chair if it's RVD throwing it to you.

B. SZPAKOWICZ: The Fame-Asser gets third. I like the Rocker Dropper,
really I do, but by no means should it be a *finisher*.

RYAN GRANT: The Acid Drop wouldn't be so intolerable if they would just
show a little moderation in the use of it.....

BERT SNOOVEN: I think the worst moves in the business are the Headbangers'
Stage Dive and Scott Steiner's Steiner Recliner. Mosh & Thrasher should
find a tag team finisher they can properly time and connect. As for Scott
Steiner, he should arch his opponent's back when doing a camel clutch.
When the opponent is on all fours, it doesn't even look like the hold
causes mild discomfort.

JEREMY SORIA: Again, Hulk Hogan gets the token first place vote. I know
the El Kabong isn't even a legitimate finisher, but he uses it so much
that it could just be a finisher. An elbow drop as a finisher? Yes, it
gets the millions (AND MILLIONS) of people orgasms, but it's still just a
lousy elbow drop. Randy Savage did it much better back in the '80s!

JUSTIN JONES: Pedigree: Worst...Move...EVER

MATT SPAULDING: How exactly does one tap out while six feet off the
ground?

HEATM: The Tongan Death Grip is utterly ridiculous. Enough said.

ROB EVANS: Worst Move - Billy Gunn's Lame-Asser should unseat Hogan's
legdrop as reigning champ.

OTTO "HACK-MAN" HEUER: Worst Wrestling Move. When did the WWF take over in
this category? I usually pick some of the lame crap moves WCW wrestlers
do (maybe because there are more wrestlers?) but there wasn't anything
close to these three losers this year: 1st: Rock's People's Elbow
elbowdrop 2nd: Godfather's Ho Train running splash 3rd: Mankind's Mandible
Claw

MDB: Maivia's People's elbow is the new Hogan leg drop (except Hogan's leg
drop actual could pass as a finisher) and 5 or 10 years from now you'll be
ready to admit I'm right.
